absolutely pointless thread. the mix section is on here for a reason and it isn't so everyone can become the next tiesto. plus there is also a cd review section which offers a lot more in the way of tracks. not sure of who would want to 'flaunt' their music 'taste' on the internet besides you. i'm pretty sure it doesn't make you cool posting some random old track that everyone has heard already, but what do i know...i'm just a 'tool'

lol someone is a bit defensive?

that wasn't directed at all at you, and those weren't my 'personal' reasons, just hypothetical reasons why this thread might be useful to some people.

1. there is no 'mix forum'

2. there and the "new releases" forum doesn't included "newly discovered old releases", hence the importance of this thread in the "music discussion forum"

example scenario for you:

User A posts artist - track (remix).

User B reads User A's post and listens to track, which turns out to be from 1994 and therefore would not appear in the 'new releases' forum. (as if that forum had even 1% of releases around the world anyways).

User B finds a recording on the internet, likes it, and subsequently buys the entire discography of said artist. He then explores the label and finds another artist with tracks on another label.

User B posts arist - track (remix) from this label

User A reads thread and discovers a track from this other label.

ad infinitum.

threads like this exist on any music forum and a lot of other forums as well for a reason - their general utility and interest. As a DJ, I find great leads from those with similar or more developed taste than me.

i hope you're just trolling and you aren't really so dense

what the fuck is the dj promo section for then? oh that's right for people to post mixes. you've been on this forum longer than me and don't even know that?

and here's a link for your dumbass:

http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...p?s=&forumid=73

Posted by nefardec on Mar-19-2008 02:37:

no need to get sharp with me, sean!

the dj promotion forum is for promoting your own mixes, and mixes with which you are affiliated.

it's quite a different concept than posting what you are listening to with no personal contact/booking information about the dj

besides that, where do you post when you want to share a single that you are listening to that isn't a new release, huh?

you made a great point about me being on the forum longer than you by the way. try to wrap your head around the implications of that.
