its not about taste, its about tech skills.

Posted by moose1111 on Jul-11-2002 18:40:

Most people couldn't care less about technical skills as long as mixing is okay and the tracks choosen are good (here, it 100% depends on taste). Furthermore, not too many people know the difference between a great technical DJ and the average one.

At the end, the bottom line is:
Did you enjoy the music or not? Technical skills can be important there (well, they are extremely important in techno music, but not as much for house music..), but most of your perceptions is about track selection. So, if you like the track selection and the music genre played, you'll enjoy the music.. As simple as that!

Derrick Carter is technically really good for a house dj.

i love it!!!!!!!!!

i re-ignited the the david morales / celebration fire

i think hes shit..and i had to go to celebration because miss B was there and for shit sake....we never have a good NYE lineup...

let me state this again...I HATED 514'S DECISION TO LET THAT RETARD SPIN FOR 6 HOURS....2 HOURS IS ENOUGH AND IT SHOULD BE TIME FOR THE NEXT DJ

thats the whole basis of the argument...6 hours? what the fuck...theres been a lot of crappy djs at many parties but god knows we didnt have to tolerate them for that long

i could have went to the dome for mc mario's gig

Posted by moose1111 on Jul-11-2002 20:44:

delstar, you are entitled to your opinion.. but a lot of people enjoyed his set.. some people even found it brilliant.. it is a question of taste.. you can't really argument about it.
A lot of people that went to Swirl hated Mauro Picotto, but it doesn't stop him from being a great DJ, and it doesn't stop people from enjoying his music/style and his set that night..

Posted by ZinG on Jul-12-2002 00:05:

its true everyone is entitled for an opinion, i think he just had to fill up 6hours with his record box. So basically he was playing along everything from house to cheesy house to gay house.
anyway this subject goes nowhere.
And its true what's impressive is to see Djs tryin their mixing skills on whatever style they'r on, and what adds to it if he's mixin one of those styles that u can hardly use EQs on.

Posted by fastmp3 on Jul-12-2002 01:26:

Posted by delstar on Jul-12-2002 01:27:

i think people are beginning to lose their reading skills in this forum

6 hours...too long..waste a time...

maybe its easier the 7 words

even though i go to all the 514 parties...their last 5 have been sketchy
freaky 2001 ...sona... = cancelled
celebration 2002...always a good party... although,david morales 5 hours? miss b at 10 am
connected 2002..cancelled
swirl 2002..half the size as the 2000 party in cepsum..awesome lineup
oasis 2002...cancelled...im so pissed

im sure cream will be fuckin awesome as it was last year...it has been kind of weird if u look at their history though..forza was cool, but they turned an aria night into a party...armin, ferry, rank1, johan, marco v are all awesome and will have their own solo parties in north americain the next 2-3 years.....the scene started to explode with oakie, then tiesto...then armin

delstar is just pissed at morales cuz there both gay, and delstar wanted to hook up with him but morales said " no chance you drive a sunfire" hahahaha

seriously though it was just his long set that killed the party, aside from that it was good time

Posted by fastmp3 on Jul-14-2002 04:44:

that's one heck of a serious accusation hahahahahaha :d

Guys, Marco V and AVB tickets are on sale for $25 at www.admission.com ... just search for aria, then click on aria nightclub in the middle, and you'll see all the tickets for sale available for aria... get 'em quick before they go up in price... AVB for $25 = really cheap compared to what we have seen lately, although I've seen him for much less... ($15 in TO, but I'm sure Aria will be 10 times better )...

Posted by DJ Charlie on Jul-23-2002 03:03:
