I love the MTL massive and vibe of this city ![]() p.s this thread is FAR from being a drama thread hahah you know I'm right on that one |
BEB for me is about partying with my friends and having a good time. The lineup has been the same for the past 3 years..but then again thats just my opinion

You guys who keep posting that you "dont care about the djs" may end up getting MC Mario one of these days. It's gonna feel like going to Millenium evenutually, the way these bookings are heading.

Originally posted by chimera66 i HOPE people give a shit about the DJs because if not we would go hear any tom, dick or harry spin. a large part of this is the party for sure but the DJs are relatively important at least to me. as for getting crunked, i guess i'll be drinking red bull and vodka until they cut me off

Originally posted by 84th Ave. Guys, what your saying is true but in my opinion doesn't apply to BEB, hear me out BEB is the biggest, most commercialized event of the year, and from past experieces, BEB is a party where everyone goes cause of the hype. Sure people like you guys want a good lineup, and theres many people that do, but remember you represent a small minority at this event. theres 3 types of crowd that attend BEB the gay community: where yes they want their house, but its an older crowd who comes out to party...give them guetta and offer and they dont care who else is spinning, or it could be locals who spin that house, they wouldn't care the people who go for music: yes, you'll find your Armin preachers in the front, and people on TA like Neo Hacker etc who go and actually know who's spinning and enjoy the music, other people on TA, etc. and the rest: this is made up of the mainstream clubber crowd to adults that are not even into the scene, to people that just want to have a good time, and noobs that never been to any other event (which all don't care who's spinning). You don't how many times i bumped into people and their not even into the scene, never even saw them at an afterhours and hear the same respond: "just wanted to see what the HYPE was all about, wanted to see what BEB was" BEB is about mainstream partying, why do you think they book the same mainstream djs, and why don't you think other events like Sensation doesn't even come close to comparing to BEB (which had almost the same acts) just cause TA (incl myself) would want better bookings and actually care about the DJs spinning, don't think EVERYONE does or goes speicifically for that reason, we don't even make up 2 percent at this party

it just would be interesting to book different names, cause the past 3 years its essentially the same stuff.....the only solid booking that i remember they made was Nic Fanculli
but just goes back to my point, they needs these mainstream names to attract the people that are just there to party and be like " ah cool, the number 1 DJ is there"

Originally posted by ZraW you know, some people actually DO like armin's music (Sander + Above and Beyond was solid..) so is Menno + Ferry... IMO

Originally posted by 84th Ave. I guess you've missed my point completely.... true, just talking out of personal preference, but there is other trance DJ names that they can get (isn't there?).... Armin has been the headliner for the past 3 years

Originally posted by ZraW Agreed! But.. I think (my opinion) they want to always have a dj being part of the top5.. so.. not that much choice. Armin + Guetta are the "newbies attracting dj" .. the number of "well-known" trance dj is very very limited
Bal en Blanc is about money, not music. It's a business. If you book Armin, Guetta, Deep Dish, you will get more people because they know these names, or at least they heard of them.
If we talk about (let's stick to Trance here) more underground DJs such as, Thomas Datt, John Askew, Paul Miller, people here don't know these guys. We do, because we're into EDM music a lot here, but "regular" people don't. In fact, regular people just want big bass and a lot of chick. Myself, I'm way more about the music than the party itself. The event could suck totally (not enough people, weird crowd, lightshow is aweful, etc) but if the music is good, I'll have a good time.
But getting Menno (and last year Sander) is a very good thing. Menno isn't very known here. He's very big in Europe, but not really here.
My dream is still to have a Bal en Blanc with Djs such as Robert Nickson, John Askew, Mike Nichol and Thomas Datt. Less known DJs, but they deliver a hell of a show !
