Kostopolous, Smolinski and Lapierre look pretty good out there...at least they are hustling! We all love Kovalev but he tends to disappear out there sometimes and try to do too much. The first two lines need to keep it simple and shoot more. Boston isn't a very skilled team and are resorting to clogging up the shooting lanes, getting in the way, clutching and grabbing, whining to the refs...but Thomas stood up for them today.

We've had two mediocre games and still keep it real close. But the pressure is on for Tuesday...lose that and I'll start getting real fucking nervous.

every series I've watched has had bad referee-ing. They need to bring back Mr Hair himself Kerry Fraser and always frothing at the mouth Paul Stewart

It was Begin with Smolinski and Kostopoulos tonight. The Dandenault, Lapierre and Latendresse line had some chances too! Guy could have finished it in the OT there, but Thomas had a nice save on the blocker.

I think this 1 loss will dump some people from the bandwagon, and for good measure! Tuesday is gonna be huge. I don't think anyone expected them to continue on the winning streak they've had against Boston so far. They were 13-0, now 13-1. Let's hope they end up 15-1!!

yeah that's what I meant...since the lockout the calls have been way too inconsistent. It's not an excuse but there are too many penalties when the game is close, waaaaaaayyy too many fucking 5 on 3s. And I HATE that delay of game penalty for shooting it into the crowd. That is just so...American.

Fraser still refs...he did Game 1 of this series but wears a helmet now. I just prefer old school hockey...let all but the most obvious stuff go, especially in OT!

Kerry Fraser was the ref for game 1
but he wears a helmet now...I can hardly recognize him now

yeah, and I believe Stewart retired due to cancer, use to be a tough guy player too.

Anyone know if Koivu or even Bergeron for Boston is due back? These guys can also change the complexion of this series.

Posted by Bertuzz on Apr-14-2008 02:56:

Koivu still has the boot on his foot....so I doubt he'd be ready for game action anytime soon. But maybe if Montreal loses on Tuesday, we'll see him back for Thursday??

Bergeron was cleared for contact in practice...but I don't think for game action yet.

But who really knows. What the teams tell the media and what the reality is during the playoffs are two different things.

Anaheim's not skating well as a team right now. They look slow and ugly to me. Ribiero's breakaway goal early in lastnights game told me all i needed to know. Dallas looks hungry right now.

Well that was a hard fought game and I'm proud of the boys (especially the D men) for staying tough in the third period. Boston are a highly unskilled team and just can't put the puck in the net. Price was great but the top line still isn't clicking, hence Carbo shaking things up a bit.

I have little doubt this series is over tomorrow night though. A Montreal-Philly matchup next round would be sweet, but first things' first....wrap it up at home!

Posted by elFreak on Apr-16-2008 14:06:

winning a few 1-0 games is good for us...it might not be entertaining but we will need to play with thight panties to beat pittsburg.

Posted by Passskal on Apr-16-2008 14:19:

ok I hate Brisebois, I think he's such a puss. I cannot forget how he pussied out when McLaren almost killed Zednik....

But yesterday when he scored I thought: This goal was worth the 500K or 700K salary we paid him this year. good job Patrice. I guess his playoff experience is very usefull to this team after all. And I can't believe that you scored that goal with a Sherwood stick. _O

Going to the game tomorrow!! can't wait! I'm gonna check out the tailgate party before! Go habs!!

Posted by malek on Apr-16-2008 16:02:

Brisebois is the only guy on the ice who won in 1993 !!

Habs-Philly would be a dream!!!!

Posted by Sean Walsh on Apr-16-2008 17:26:

Can anyone give some details about the tailgate party? Is it a BYOB and drink out of paper bag type affair? With this beautiful weather I'm definitely checking the ****** out.

Posted by Passskal on Apr-16-2008 18:17:

About the tailgate, they confirmed there will be another one tomorrow, I heard in on the radio today at CKAC 730.

Tailgate party is at the bell center(Lucien Lallier). The first two started at 4pm but I think CKAC is pushing to start at 3pm because they broadcast live from the party.

About the alcohol I have no idea. I suggest a 10oz bacardi gold in the back pocket.

I respect Brisebois. He gets way too much flak from the Montreal media and fans. He had a decent year as a 6th or 7th D man and has played pretty damn well these playoffs with minimal giveaways and is actually giving out some hits. His goal was beautifully struck last night too.
