Well i was one of those kids. I was wearing a graphic tee and some dark colored diesels just like i usually do every time ive been out to webster hall. Jon was wearing already wearing a collared shirt and some onitsuka tigers. We arrived at the front of the line just about 10:30 where there was a group of girls in front of us. The bouncer told the girls that they had to come back in a half hour cuz he thought one of the girls was too drunk. From what i could tell she looked completely sober. Ofcourse they argued with him cuz they wanted to get in on the free admission and he pretty much said get off the line. Then we came up next and he immediately just said dress shirts and shoes only, get off the line. So after running around the city with no luck in finding a shoe store open at that time of the night we decided to go back to try again. So this was around 11:20 and we see they are just letting anyone and everyone in so we jus hopped on line and got in the second time with no questions asked. I personally dont think I put out a sketchy vibe, but hey i could be wrong. Anyways my advise is, if ur trying to get in before 11 for free admission wear a collar shirt and shoes. But thanks to kelly and wai for trying to help us out when u guys werent goin out that night. much appreciated.

You must be Albert then ??..I was on the phone to Wai for 30 mins trying to get you in. Glad you got in though..

Thanks alot for your concern and effort...I guess putting my sunglasses on and dancing in line gave off a sketchy vibe

Is there a cut off time for guest list?

The security were dressed in black military uniforms ffs, combat boots and berets etc..

I'm not saying other clubs don't have dress codes. Of course, many do. Webster Hall is just not one of them.

I agree mate, I was just saying that '93 was the last time I experienced any form of dress code..Even if WH did impose a dress code it wouldn't stop me going there..

What I will say though is that the promoter hasn't got a say in how the door is run at WH.

Posted by chimera66 on Apr-14-2008 03:27:

how come the promoter has no say? they know their audience better than the club and quite honestly why would a club hope for a promoter to fail? they lose a lot of money at the bar coat check and wherever else they make incremental revenue. you have to have rules yes but last time i checked webster hall in no way caters to the bottle service/vip crowd. paris hilton or p diddy won't be rolling through...

The door enforces the clubs policy and not the promoters policy..

Posted by Keryn on Apr-14-2008 13:42:

I definitely think the promoter has a say, but there will always be cases where the bouncers outside believe for one reason or another that someone shouldn't be let into a club. Shit happens and shit happens everywhere. As promoters we do what we can to keep this kind of thing from happening but when you are letting in 2,000+ people into a venue it shouldn't be a huge surprise that a handful may experience a problem at the door. Overall, from my experiences at WH both as a promoter and as a partier I think the place is run pretty professionally and it has been really clear that the people who run the place ultimately care about our suggestions and concerns. I will be even happier with the place when the upstairs bathrooms are finished !

Cannot wait for Saturday, have a bad feeling this is going to be a looong week

Posted by chimera66 on Apr-14-2008 14:06:

i hope it all goes well if i weren't going out of town i would be definitely be there...with regards to WH I actually like it. i don't really need amenities; i'm good with a decent sound system and most importantly space. The side room that Zach was playing in during S&D is very nice and I hope they book some locals there more often.

Edit: WH has given me probs twice. The first time we were there, they told me, wai, and Z that our guestlist "didnt exist." sure thing bro. wai smooth-talked them
The second time was a Made Event, and I had bought a will-call and they tell me that they dont have my name on the will call list. I had to pay twice. thats the shit that really pissed me off (fuck my printer for not working, but a CC and ID should have sufficed!!)

So come before 11 its free!

Posted by ownymcown on Apr-15-2008 01:19:

I was under the impression that those under 21 don't get the benefit of "free" admission, based on experience with other free lists and such.

Is this the case?

Posted by StarSoprano426 on Apr-15-2008 01:24:

^^ I think you're right. Usually if you're under 21 and it's an 18 or 19+ event, admission is reduced. I guess they assume if they let older folk in for free then they'll spend a lot of money at the bar.

I wouldn't know anything about that personally however
*hurries to bar for last call*

Posted by CoreEventsNYC on Apr-15-2008 02:41:

just a heads up about pricing and lists for this Saturday...

admission is FREE before 11 PM for everyone excluding guys under 21.
$30 regular admission after 11PM
$25 on the reduced list.

hit us up at [email protected] to be placed on the reduced list.

see everyone there!
