| Originally posted by preppie chick I would choose the holiday inn because i was fully satisfied when i stayed there last year, not because i wanna save... also yes it was party central but at the same time it was hardly sketchy/ghetto... we just had our friends back in our room not randoms. and being able to drink in my room is a HUGE deciding factor for me!! i guess i'll just have to check out the view from your room! ![]() |

No alcohol policy = super lame. I would never stay there, lol.
Well it's not like they search your luggage....one could easily have brought liquor in if it was concealed properly.

I'm guessing it was because of all the other shit going on that weekend...because for 200 bucks a night, as you said earlier, we should have been able to do pretty much whatever the fuck we wanted in there (i.e. coke orgies
).

| Originally posted by Skipper Unfortunately we were not told this upon check in. In fact, the front desk clerk actually directed us to the closest liquor store! When we excitedly returned to the hotel with our sauce, we were denied entrance. I can't tell you how pissed I was. Bitches, all of them! |
We had to check it in the lobby with the bellhop while we went to raise hell at the front desk (they are not on the same floor). After a LOT of waiting, being ignored, etc, we finally asked a different bellhop who looked somewhat interested/sympathetic to our plight if he could deliver it to our room. He said yes! So we gave him our ticket for the checked bags (four bags filled with booze and beer) and went to our room and waited.
I owe my friend Colin 5 bucks because I was convinced he wouldn't show at all, but then he rolled up with a baggage cart and all of our bags in a cardboard box.
good story.
It would have set the weekend off to a bad start had the bellboy not come to the rescue.
I just don't get how that's not something you tell people when they book the room. (probably because it was a policy thrown together at the very last minute) All of the glassware from the room had actually been removed and we had to PAY to get new glasses bought to the room!

temporary tatoos party being shutdown due to a drive by shooting....
here's what it says incase you don't know how to zoom a screen
"special thanks to all who came out and rocked it, was the best party we have done yet.....
however, there was some terrible drama. we were forced to close early, and stop letting people in early, even earlier than we expected. there was a murder a few blocks away. there was also a guy who drove down woodward i think letting off a clip from an ak47. our door guy saw the 47, and one of our headliners saw the aftermath of the shooting. it was reported as gang violence, and thats all we know. the venue decided to get whoever was there @ the time inside, and lock the place down for safety reasons. no one was allowed to leave or come in for a while, especially no more people coming in. we had 0 control over it. no one wanted to leave, so that wasnt a problem, but we couldnt let anyone in. they didnt tell people because they didnt want to alarm anyone either. sorry for all that, but they wouldnt even let us be upstairs, we had to stay in the basement part.
it was rough man, there was blood all over the sound guys van, he couldnt get it out of there. part of the crime scene and shit. detroit is no fucking joke. im so glad no one from the party was hurt, that would have been the worst, i couldnt live with myself after that for sure."

Scary
OMG that's frickin' scary. I think they handled that party well. Good thing they went on lock down. (However, thank goodness no one at the party had a gun either - or at least used it). That's really messed up.
Glad I left before all that happened.
Yeah, that's detroit... you can't fuck around.
I remember people huddling up in groups and packs to walk together to MOTOR (RIP) back in the day...
I also remember walking down woodward back to the tunnel bus to get to Canada after a Prodigy concert, we get out, and the fireworks were on for the CanadaDay/July4th celebrations.. scary ass shit!
I feel totally safe there now tho, but you gotta have your street smarts...
Detroit, much like the WuTang, ain't nothing to fuck wit!
We went out for a smoke at like 1 or 2 in the morning, and we're almost 100% positive this dude was trying to get his dick sucked at the waterfront there. Right in front of everybody!!
