'Big Brother 10': All shook up

By Carrie Raisler
July 31, 06:56 PM

Metaphorically speaking, the Big Brother 10 house has had quite a few shakeups in its 19 days. None of them, however, were quite as literal (or amusing) as seeing the house's reaction to the recent Los Angeles earthquake.

Before we get things shaking (get it? shaking? like the earthquake? gosh, I'm clever) let's do a quick recap of the past week: Keesha won HoH and used her power to get revenge on those who wronged Steven, namely Angie and Jessie, although she assured Jessie he wasn't her true target. Jerry and Memphis fought. Jessie lost his marbles and tried to bully Keesha into nominating Libra in his place. Keesha won the veto competition and unsurprisingly kept her nominations the same. There was a banner, and a few houseguests lied about what it said.

Julie welcomes us to this week's live show looking quite lovely. In fact, there really isn't anything about her appearance that I can mock, which makes me blue. Doesn't she know the pleasure I get from my weekly dressing down of her, well, dresses? Sigh. She wastes no time getting us into the action, which begins with an unfortunate montage of Michelle freaking out about losing one of her very good friends. That she's known for 19 days. There are no words, so let's just move on. Jessie's down in a different way, wondering what his alliance did wrong to get targeted so early. I'd love to roll back the footage for him on his entire week as Head of Household and let him know exactly what he did wrong, but alas, I cannot. Memphis blames Jerry somehow, for simply existing, I suppose.

Angie tries another tactic besides bullying and intimidation to get a few votes on her side. That's right, she has a calm and rational conversation with Jerry! She's far too sane for this house. Jerry says he has nothing against her personally, but that her alliance of Memphis, Jessie and Michelle got really cocky during the past few weeks. Michelle gets wind of Jerry's statement and works herself (and Jessie, and Memphis) into a right frenzy which culminates in her confronting him in the kitchen. Because everyone in this house apparently has a fuse about an inch long, the confrontation quickly escalates into a full-on screaming match. There comes a point where the yelling just becomes like background noise, you know? I fear 19 days is far too early to have reached the point where yelling isn't interesting anymore.

After the boring fighting, it's time for the fun: scaring the crap out of the houseguests! This time, instead of Big Brother doing the scaring it's Mother Nature. Good job, Mother Nature! The entire house is sitting around when all of a sudden an earthquake hits. The people inside freak out a bit and move away from the walls, but don't think to run to a safer location until the thing is over. The houseguests in the back yard immediately sprint for the center of the lawn, which was actually pretty smart. The best part of the entire sequence is the aftermath, with the folks outside urging the insiders to get out onto the lawn (after the earthquake was already over) and the hilarious sequence where Jerry doesn't even understand what just happened. In fact, he thinks a truck ran into the side of the house. Hee! Mother Nature, from her perch up on high, giggles with glee.

After the earthquake shenanigans, it's time for the weekly Q&A session with the houseguests. This time we actually get some interesting answers when we learn that Memphis got so angry when Jerry called him a womanizer because he's "dedicated his life" to treating women with respect, and Jerry pipes up that he sincerely apologized to Memphis for the incident. Memphis, in turn, says that he can forgive Jerry but not necessarily forget. So Jerry should be hoping Memphis doesn't win HoH. Then Julie talks to Keesha in the HoH room, where Keesha reveals that she is planning on staying loyal to Libra until the end, but in her heart she feels more loyal towards Renny.

Next, Angie and Jessie give their final speeches before the live vote. Unsurprisingly, Jessie's speech is all about respect and about how everyone should give him the respect he believes he deserves (what is unsaid: or else) and Angie's speech is all about rational thought and the fact that Jessie is obviously the bigger threat. Hmm. Angie gave a reasoned, thoughtful speech and Jessie mouthed off like a tool. I wonder who they'll keep? If you said the mouthy tool, you are correct, as Angie is unanimously evicted. Silly Angie. Rational thought doesn't work on reality show contestants! Angie is surprisingly emotional at her eviction, and assures us that her wearing Brian's knit cap every day since we was evicted wasn't because she was in love with him, but because it drove the rest of the house crazy. Score one for Angie! Why is it I like everyone in the house so much more once they are evicted?

Finally, it's time for the reveal of who America voted for to be our America's Player for the week. And the winner is...Dan! I knew it! I totally would have voted for Dan, if I voted for these sorts of things. After a moment's hesitation, he accepts, explaining that the $20,000 he gets for doing our bidding for a week will greatly help him since he's a teacher. Good luck, Dan. You're the only one I still sort of like.

This week's HoH competition is called "Livin' on the Edge." (And...now I am going to have that Aerosmith song stuck in my head for days. Thanks, BB.) The houseguests are all perched on a small ledge on a wall built in the backyard of the house. The goal? Stay up there the longest. Sounds easy, until the game starts and the ledge gets much, much smaller. Then, the entire wall starts shaking! Just like an earthquake! Clever, BB. As the show ends, we see a wind machine start up, blowing sand all in the houseguests' eyes. Now, that's just mean. Just like I like it.

Favorite quotes:

"I thought somebody ran into the house or something." - Jerry, on the earthquake

"You know, it's Jerry, he's an idiot." - Memphis, on Jerry's earthquake response

"Just for the record, I am married, but Mrs. Chen is my mother." - Julie to Dan, in response to his habit of referring to Mrs. Moonves as Mrs. Chen

Oh well, onwards and upwards!

I no longer care abt ANY of the females, so now my only interest lies w/ the players i like best personality wise, and strategy wise.

I've missed the last 2 episodes and probably not gonna see tonight's either.

I am not as attached to this season as I was the last one.

i still say they should have gotten rid of fuck face pea head jessie..

i think this show is way too overedited tho..it's the same formula..person a is up for eviction...then on the eviction show they edit it to make it very plausible that NOW person b could be going home..and there are discussions of switching the vote...but when it comes to vote time...hmmmm...9-0 for the original person..

but i still watch..lol..

'Big Brother 10' Broken Promises

By Jessica Paff
August 03, 06:53 PM

Big Brother 10 left us with a cliffhanger ending on Thursday. Or rather, a ledge hanger, as all the HGs held on to a railing against a wall while standing on a thin ledge mocked up to look like a building. Sometimes that building shook, sometimes it leaned further forward and sometimes they just blew sand in their eyes.

To continue to leave you hanging just a little longer, let's go back to review what happened before the HoH competition began! HoH Keesha put up Angie and Jessie for elimination, leading Angie to stir up trouble where ever she could. Not very effectively, I might add, because she was voted out anyway, despite Jessie spending all of his time being a hugely over confident jerk. Also, Dan was made America's Player for the week.

To get back to our HoH competition, Ollie mentions he's afraid of heights. Which might have been more dramatic were they actually on a several storied building and not an intermittently moving platform that was maybe 6 feet above a giant cushion. Jessie take a moment to ask Renny if they are cool with each other and she assures him that they are, later admitting in confessional that she was just telling him what he wanted to hear. Jerry is predictably the first to drop, quickly followed by Libra. Eventually Dan makes a big show of how his arms hurt and he can't hold on. He admits that he was throwing another competition, but he tries to ham up his performance too much by acting dead armed and rolling on the ground like his legs are too weak. Libra doesn't buy it at all.

One by one the HGs fall off until it's just Renny and April battling for the big alliance, while Memphis, Jessie and Michelle remain. Until Jessie drops, that is, and later pouts in the DR about it being a "bogus competition". Whatever, sore loser. Memphis is the first to start asking about deals, but he's pretty quickly shut down as no on else is at that point yet. Unfortunately, he is at that point and he drops not long after that. Dan offers Renny, Michelle and April motivational speeches to keep them all entrenched, which seems to work for awhile, despite their cookie cutter quality and overall goofiness.

Renny takes a moment to shake out her limbs, but misses her hand hold when she goes back to grab the railing again, and falls out. April and Michelle each hang on, but Michelle is clearly battling more then April. Michelle tells her she wants o see pictures of her family and April merely apologizes to her, saying she's not going anywhere. eventually, the deal-making does begin. April promises Michelle that she will not put her up and to keep Jessie as well before Michelle finally drops. She curls up and cries while Jessie consoles her. She doesn't seem to be able to move her hands, which look purple.

Back in the house, April talks to Libra and Keesha about the deal she made with Michelle for her and Jessie and lets them know that Memphis is her target. It's a plan they all seem to agree upon. Keep this in mind, as it will be important later.

The HoH reveal goes exactly as it always does. Everyone Ooos and Ahhhs over the photos and April gets a letter from her twin, who is pregnant. She alternately giggles and cries while reading it. Back downstairs, however, the game is on. Unfortunately, idiots are playing it. Keesha is hanging out with Memphis - you know, they one they agreed to target for eviction? She says that with Steven gone, she feels like he's trustworthy. So...he's runner up? Anyway, he agrees that in the game everyone needs people that they are not necessarily in an alliance with, but whom they can count on for PoVs and Votes. It's like the BB version of friends with benefits?

Of course, this new friendship doesn't go unnoticed. April and Libra talk in the kitchen about how Keesha has gone to the other side, despite their earlier conversation. April seems to think it's an act of disrespect towards her and Libra does her usual by fueling the file of her discontent. April gets going and finally makes it clear that if Keesha is with Memphis, she will put them both up. Why she chooses to voice this plan in front of Renny, however, is beyond me.

Renny tells Keesha, of course. Keesha, however, can't seem to think of why her being friendly with Memphis would cause a problem. Renny warns her that April will come after her and Keesha laments having not put April up on the block when she had the chance. Which...huh? Although, it would have made as much sense as the people she did put up. Keesha hisses through clenched teeth about how now she can see what type of people April and Libra are, and I realize that she may actually be certifiable.

Dan, as America's Player, is giving his first assignment. Apparently, America doesn't much care for Jessie's attitude and want him out of the house. Dan is excited about the prospect of trying to make that happen and he kicks into gear to talk to April about that possibility. She barely even glances at him as he talks to her. She's too busy applying her make-up. He insists that she has to put up Jessie because...well, just because, I guess. She remains non-committal until he goes away. At which time, she runs back to talk to Libra and Keesha about what he said to her. In a moment of stunning clarity, she tells them that she thinks Dan might be America's Player.

In the way of house wackiness, Michelle puts on one of Renny's wigs before joining Dan for some sunbathing and he tries to coach her on her pronunciation of "water" by using the word "turd" as his example for the type of 'r' sound needed at the end. Dialect humor never gets old does it? Of course it does - but I got to use the word "turd" in my recap, so it's all good.

In the shade, Keesha talks to Memphis about how, just like they did with Steven, the house is gunning for her because of her friendship with him. Maybe you should stop making friends with people who are on the block? He tells her that he knows he is going up and suspects it will be Jerry or Dan that joins him. She shakes her head no and Memphis asks her who she thinks it will be. She doesn't say, but Memphis tells her it won't be Jessie or Michelle because of the deal April made. Keesha looks confused and says she didn't know there was a deal involving Jessie. And she doesn't seem to be lying - so she's either just as dumb as we all think or one damn fine actress. Guess which option gets my vote?

When the nominations do come down, however, I am rather surprised. Memphis does go on the block, but he is joined by Jessie. Jessie declares that his alliance sucks as he gets ready to face eviction yet again. April states that she didn't break her word by putting up Jessie because she only promised to not put up Michelle, while only offering not to go after Jessie. Which...no. Yet, not even Michelle seems that angry with her for it.

So, what do you think the story is there? Did April break her promise or not? Is Michelle unconcerned because she knows that eventually Jessie will drag her down with him? Any chance of Memphis saving himself?

Arrow 'Big Brother 10' The crazy comes out

By Jessica Paff
August 05, 08:07 PM

Just when you thought Big Brother 10 couldn't get any more nonsensical - another few days went by and they topped themselves again. Apparently, this week the theme was "Emotional Wreck". Let's see how our HGs ran with it!

But first, a quick review: April won the HoH after making a deal to not target Michelle or Jessie. She revealed Memphis as her target to Libra and Keesha, and was surprised and angered when Keesha decided it was the perfect time to become friends with Memphis. Because Keesha is an idiot. Renny told Keesha that April was gunning for her, because Renny is less of an idiot than we thought. April nominated Memphis and Jessie - explaining that Jessie was her pawn, so she didn't break her deal. Because being the pawn always works out so well on BB.

Dan gets another assignment as America's Player: he must hug Jessie for 10 seconds. He pulls Jessie aside and mentions he needs to talk to him about some personal stuff. He proceeds to squeeze and press his eyes to make them red while whimpering about how he isn't sure his girlfriend will still be waiting for him when he leaves the house. Jessie falls for it hook, line and sinker. Seriously, he jumps into action like he's a 14 year old girl trying to comfort her BFF. He gets on his knees in front of Dan and very earnestly tells him "Look me in the eyes. You have to stay strong in here" before continuing on to tell him he has to believe in his girlfriend and not let other HGs make him feel bad about her. The 10 second hug stretches into 17 seconds as Jessie continues to whisper affirmations to Dan, who grins over his shoulder and all but winks at the camera. It's the most brilliant moment we've seen this season.

The PoV selection goes off fine, with April, Jessie and Memphis being joined by Michelle, Jerry and Libra with Renny hosting. It's great for Team Jessie (he's the only one that calls it that, of course) that Michelle is in, while terrible for...well, everyone else that Libra and Jerry are too, given that traditionally they are not good in competitions at all. April feels the pressure to carry a win for the house majority to keep her nominations as they stand, and her attitude shows it. Everyone hangs out in the HoH room and Libra says that she may not be a strong competitor but her head is in the game. When no one bounces up to agree with her self-observation, she gets mad. She says that they need to take her more seriously as a player and leaves the room. Everyone else awkwardly leaves as well.

Alone with Ollie, April unleashes, calling Libra a b*tch and saying that she is sick of her excuses. Meanwhile, downstairs, Keesha and Libra both complain about how April doesn't take them seriously or trust them enough. They complain to each other loudly enough that Jessie hears them from his bed in the next room and gleefully runs upstairs to tell April and Ollie. He asks April if she said something to upset Libra and also adds that Keesha is complaining about April talking to her about her friendship with Memphis. Which is all the gasoline April needs. But just in case, Ollie tells her "you got this". Thanks Ollie!

April goes to Keesha and Libra's room and they both announce to her that their feelings are hurt. April counters that hers are too, because someone told her all the things they were saying about her. That's all Libra needs to start swinging her arms around, clapping and yelling, and Keesha slinks out of the room. At first I figure it's because she doesn't want to be part of the fight that is about the erupt - but instead it's because she plans to blow up herself and wants to find an audience that will pay more attention to her.

So, here we are America. Watching Libra yell about how people are instigating negative scenarios around her while Keesha paces in the kitchen and comes unglued, screaming about how she hates April's guts. At least, that is what she is doing until she gets up the gumption to go back into the room with Renny and start yelling with Libra and April. Why are we here? It's a whole lot of "I don't appreciate how you talk to me" and "you have no right to ignore me" and for some reason Libra also comes unglued, as she is incredibly offended that people were eavesdropping on her "private, one-on-one" conversation with Keesha. First of all - has she never watched BB? The walls are paper thin for exactly the reason of letting people hear each other. Also, it's not a private, one-on-one conversation when it takes place on national television.

Eventually, April cracks and tells them it was Jessie that told her. This is right around the time that Jerry comes in to let them all know that Memphis is in the living room making fun of them. Libra tries to yell over Jerry, who points his finger at her and tells her to be quiet and let him finish. For some reason this makes Renny come unglued, as she screams something completely unintelligible and storms out of the room. She tears down the hall yelling about how Jerry better never point his finger at her. And then she goes and tells Memphis that Jerry is talking about him. Memphis jumps up like his butt was spring loaded and at this point I am cackling so hard that I miss how we get to the point where Libra is crying and apologizing to April. This is comedy gold!

I don't know what kind of mood altering substances BB is putting in the HGs water, but not a moment later, Libra goes from crying to April to screaming at Jessie - who has come into the room to defend himself, as he once again overheard their conversation from his room. If she came unglued before, she completely goes off the deep end now. Her argument is basically reduced to "I'm rubber, you're glue" status as Jessie tells her she can't hurt him and she counters with "No, YOU can't hurt ME!" and just repeats that over and over while clapping. Where have I seen this before? She storms out.

Meanwhile, Keesha and the rest of the HGs are in the kitchen, where she demands that Libra go back to get April and Jessie to come and sing Happy Birthday to her. Seriously, there are dadaist play writes out there who are banging their heads on their desks for not being able to come up with this crap! It's surrealism at its very finest! Of course, Libra arrives to see Jessie attempting damage control, so she loses her mind yet again.

Eventually, they all gather in the kitchen to sing a version of Happy Birthday that is about as rousing as a funeral dirge. It is the most amusing thing since Dan's nod to the camera during his 17 second hug. After the song there is a moment of awkward silence before Libra announces that she is sorry for yelling because other people are running around talking about things they shouldn't. I was just wondering when we would get a textbook example of passive-aggressiveness! Of course, Jessie takes the bait and asks why she is constantly in the middle of every bit of house drama. Michelle chimes in to ask if any of them even remember what they are fighting about - which is when Keesha loses her mind. Everyone marches around screaming and I realize I suddenly don't want Jessie to be evicted as badly as I did last week. He's provided plenty of entertainment tonight!

The PoV Competition has the HGs making slap shots into a partitioned net. The center is the perfect PoV shot and the further away they are, the less likely they will stay in the running. It's like the croquet game, only with hockey sticks. Also, the furthest shot form the center gets eliminated and that person gets a prize - but every person who is eliminated after them can keep their own prize or swap with any other.

Memphis is out first and gets the PoV, but we all know he won't keep it. Michelle is next and she decides to keep her Hawaiian vacation. Jessie wins a "Slop Surprise" - which will be revealed at the end of the game. He trades this for the veto. April wins $10,000 in BB gold bars. Each bar is work $1,000 and can be transferred to any HG at any time for any reason she wants. Jerry wins a letter from home, but he decides to barter - he gets April to give 1/3rd of her $10,000, while letting him take the PoV to be used as it should. Libra wins the infamous red unitard, which she trades with Michelle - who is clearly upset about it.

The Slop Surprise is explained as a 1 week slop pass that can be redeemed at any time, but Memphis must pick an HG to be on slop for the next week. He doesn't hesitate even a little before announcing Jerry as his choice. The surrealism continues as Jessie says in the DR that he is confident in his performance on the show, explaining "This is what I do. I stand up for the little people". Which....wait, what? Who has he stood up for? When? Where?! Also, he asserts he lost because his back is too big. Hee! Meanwhile, it's Michelle's turn to come unglued and go off the deep end. She all but announces she is quitting over the unitard, insisting that BB is trying to make a fool of her. Oh no, sweetie - you are doing a more then adequate job of that all on your own!

The best part is when she claims that Libra should have her kids taken from her, because she is not only an unfit mother but also a "whore, slut and a skank" for not taking a letter from her kids over a trip to Hawaii. Aren't her kids 5 months old? Jessie tries to calm her down by assuring her that her a$$ looks amazing, but she tells him to shut up before climbing under the covers to cry. He goes to try and comfort her, assuring her he will do everything in his power to help her win HoH next week, as long as she stays to fight. They are really editing to make Jessie out to seem like a decent (read: not completely self-involved) person this week.

Everything else is predictable. Jerry doesn't use the PoV and no one is surprised. April is still determined to get Memphis out of the house, while Libra tearfully tells the camera that her and Keesha are tired of being attacked by Jessie, so no matter what, he's the one who will go home. As it stands right now, it looks like it may be a close race. Libra, Keesha, and Renny are all likely to vote Jessie out while April, Ollie and Jerry are all likely to vote for Memphis. Which makes Dan the swing vote. As America's Player, that means it may very well be up to us to decide who leaves.

Well, it's up to the people who actually call the hotline, that is. Who do you think is going home?

Seriously, you coudln't have set up a funner more amusing bitch fest ive you tried!!

BEST. EPISODE this season!

Jessie man. Yeah okay, the show is edited but he really did say all those sweet things to both Michelle (who is a disgusting tool) and to Dan.

I think Jessie and Renny should make a secret alliance to one another.

.... oh and Dan pulled it off ssoooo well! BB needs to start changing up the AP challenges tho or people are going to sniff it out that Dan is AP pretty quickly. They gave exact same ones to David or whoever it was last year

Lightbulb 'Big Brother 10': Swing vote

By Carrie Raisler
August 07, 06:16 PM

This week, Big Brother 10 picks up the torch Kevin Costner's recent box office bomb dropped by convincing us that hey! Our votes actually do count! Well, at least they do when it comes to reality television programs, that is.

Before we get into the action, a quick recap of the week: April won HoH by cutting a deal with Michelle that she and Jessie would be safe, April nominated Memphis and Jessie but promised Jessie he was safe therefore sort of keeping her promise to Michelle, the entire house got in a circular argument about who could be more annoying (they're all annoying, so everybody won!) and Jerry won POV and kept the nominations the same.

Julie greets us and throws us directly into the main action of the night: America's Player Dan and his power (or powerlessness) in the game this week. After the nomination ceremony, Jessie feels safe and Memphis doesn't, declaring that his alliance is basically over and he needs to fight for himself. Good thing Jessie is doing a fine job of self-imploding, making Memphis' game a hell of a lot easier in the process. Libra and Keesha conspire about their mutual hatred of Jessie and go to April to plead their case to evict him instead of Memphis, but April has her own self-interests for keeping Jessie in the game. Libra sees right through this charade, and thus begins Jessie's downfall. Keesha sits down with Memphis and realizes they need four votes to get Jessie out, with Dan being the swing vote. Memphis is sure Dan won't vote for him, but Keesha works on him all the same. Too bad it doesn't matter either way. America's Player strikes again! But Dan then GIVES HIS WORD to Keesha, Memphis and Libra that he'll keep Memphis in. I guess he's pretty certain America wants the bodybuilder out!

April, realizing Libra and Keesha might give her trouble this week, goes to Jerry to secure his vote to get out Memphis. Jerry assures her he can keep Dan on their side because he "brought Dan into their alliance" and they "kept him in the game." Poor Jerry, thinking he's in an alliance with April. Or Dan. He's a floater and he doesn't even seem to know it! Dan, unfortunately, has to promise Jerry he's still on his side. Whatever happens this week, they're going to know Dan was the swing vote and half of the house will be after him. Darn you, America's Player, ruining my favorite player's game! Even Dan realizes he's in trouble, talking to the cameras alone and telling us he's screwed no matter what happens.

This week's background package is about Dan and his love for his job and the kids he coaches, who watch him on TV every week. No wonder Dan never gets involved with any of the house drama. His very cute mother and sister are split on whether or not America's Player was a good thing for Dan. His sister is just flattered America thinks Dan is as peachy keen as she does, but their mother sees the reality of what this might do to Dan's game for what it is, and she's worried.

This week's houseguest Q&A asks the burning question: is Michelle still as steaming angry about her unitard as she was a few days ago? Michelle says she still hates her unitard, but knows she looks awesome in it and so is OK with it now. Heh. Vanity conquers anger every time! Keesha then gets grilled about her pathetic birthday, and she promises she still hasn't forgiven or forgotten anything that happened that day. Foreshadowing for the upcoming vote, perhaps? Libra clears up any controversy about her taking a Hawaiian vacation over a letter from home in this week's POV competition with the succinct: "Because my husband would've killed me if I didn't!" Fair enough. She can get all the letters from home she wants when she's relaxing in the surf and sand of Hawaii, that's for sure. April (in the private HoH interview) is grilled about her relationship with Ollie, and is sure all of America wants to know what's going on. Oh, honey. We've seen the videos on YouTube. We all know what's going on.

At eviction time Jessie gives a very short speech, wishing his father a happy birthday and saying his fellow houseguests should vote for whoever they would like. Memphis gives a very Angie-like speech, saying they should vote for "themselves," a.k.a. the person who will help them get further in the game. When the votes come down, it turns out all of the bluster this week wasn't just misdirection - America's Player really is the deciding vote this week, as Keesha, Libra and Renny vote to evict Jessie while Jerry, Ollie and Michelle vote to evict Memphis. Therefore Dan just has to look at the camera in uncomfortable horror as America casts the deciding vote to get Jessie out of the house. Jessie leaves the house with a "it's your word, man, it's your word" to Dan. Dan, I think it's time to stop throwing competitions and win yourself an HoH.

Julie greets Jessie outside the house with the observation that he looks shocked, which he swears isn't true but the waver in his voice belies his true feelings. He blames Dan's untruthfulness on the fact that he's a Catholic but doesn't go to church every week, which is an interesting tactic. Jessie also affirms that he doesn't regret anything in the house, which maybe he should considering his actions lead directly to his eviction, but whatever. What do I know? Hilariously, Julie tries to play a word association game with Jessie about his fellow houseguests but seeing that Jessie is not so good with the words it doesn't go very well, with him using entire phrases instead of words for each houseguest and calling Libra "very deviant." I do not think that word means what he thinks it means. This is the second time he's called Libra deviant (instead of devious). The messages from his houseguests are as split as the votes, with the people on his side calling the other side liars and the people against him just saying how happy they are to see him go. I, unfortunately, am not happy to see him go. No one in this house brings on the drama like Jessie, that's for sure.

Instead of going right to the HoH competition this week, Julie instead brings us a special treat: houseguest torture! As in previous seasons, America was invited to record annoying messages for the houseguests, which Big Brother played all night long last night. Hee! Houseguest torture is my favorite. Michelle and Jerry seem especially annoyed by the interruptions, with Jerry shouting an emphatic "Screw you!" to the recordings. Heh.

The HoH competition this week is called "Rude Awakening," and of course it directly relates to the aforementioned torture. Here's how it works: Julie will ask the houseguests a series of true or false questions based on the wake-up calls, and the last one standing will be the new HoH. Simple enough (for once). Everyone gets the first question right but start dropping like flies starting with question number two, which eliminates Renny and Ollie. The next question takes out everyone else except Libra and Michelle, which seeing as they are on opposite sides of the house is sort of perfect. Michelle and Libra split the next answer, with Michelle getting it right and winning the HoH competition. She immediately starts celebrating and saying her win is for Jessie, while the cameras focus solely on Dan, who is clearly resigned to his fate. Michelle's win begs an interesting question: is she now in an alliance with April, Jerry and Ollie, with Memphis, Keesha, Libra and Dan on the other side? Or will Michelle and Memphis stick together and bring a few other people in to get out April or Dan? No matter what happens, it should be an interesting week in the house.

But wait, it's not over! After the commercial break, Julie has an interesting announcement for us. In celebration of Big Brother's 10th season, one of the houseguests from each season will be returning on Sunday to take part in a special competition. My little eyes spied Chicken George from BB1 (yawn), Bunky from BB2 (boo - where's Dr. Will?), Amy from BB3 (yay!), Jun from BB4 (yawn), Jace from BB5 (eh), Janelle from BB6 (eh), Mike Boogie from All-Stars (boo!), Jen from BB8 (yay!), Matt from BB9 (boo!) and Brian from BB10 (yay!). Who are you most excited to see? For me it's a wash. Dr. Will or bust!

Favorite quotes:

"I know I'm not going anywhere. Sweet beans!" - Jessie, counting his chickens

"If I vote for your ass and you put me out next week, I'm going to kill you." - Libra to Memphis, obviously going for the always successful "gain loyalty by fear" tactic

"It's another mechanism of friggin' mental torture!" - Michelle, about America's messages

"This is for Jessie!" - Michelle, on her HoH win

HOLY SHIT... absolute shock... it was priceless... even though I didnt want Jessie to leave Was hoping Memphis got the boot...

DAMN YOU AMERICA!!!

Dan's fucked now though, I think. They're gonna know it was him who voted as he wasnt supposed it.

Oh Big Brother.

EDIT:

Oh, and what do yall thinka about the alliance of april, ollie, zebra (yeah, thats right, ZEBRA), and kesha. THey betrayed what april wanted... Do yall think that that 4some is now broken up???

How come no one is calling out Michelle, that fence-riding,both-side-playing little c*nt? Got I just want to smack her fugly face!

Memphis is a yawn fest.

I am SOOOOO exicted to see Jen come back for a bit. I *heart* her.

I think Mich-*unt is going to put up ET's little sister, April and Dufus-Dan.

Great move by Keesha and Libra. The only problem is they didn't win HOH which now really puts a target on their back.

This really sets the stage for an exciting week. I am interested to see what new alliances form. I really hope Dan sticks around as he is my favourite player.

Who else is excited for pervious houseguests competing?1?!

I would have liked to see Dr. Will though instead of Bunky from season 2.

WHY THE FUCK NO DR. WILL!

Esp since Big B justified bring in Mike from All-Stars! Mike and Will at their hijinks for an episode... that would have been the greatest thing so far this season!!

I hope Mike is his normal self and makes thing fun and interesting. LOL God I love those two. Boogie and Will... cant beat 'em.

Im excited by seeing Jenn (OMG this should be good!! HAHAHA), Jase (oh boy! remember how fucking INSANE he went before he was kicked out... but ive always liked him heaps on his season, crazy or not! LOL he fucking stirred shit up GREAT, just like Evel dick did on his season.)

Bunk will be funny to see LOL. Anyone remember when he let the houseguests SHAVE A CIRCLE into his mound of back hair! OMG that was sooooooo priceless!!

Seeing chicken george again will be great! That dude is just so awkward, humble, weird, funny, and gentle! I love chicken george. He's an awesome human being!

Amy and Jun are fucking ANNOYING. Ugh. dont wanna see them again. Ditto w/ Janelle. Could do w/o seeing her mug again.

I forget who matt is already from last season (lol), and it'll be good seeing Brian back! The dude tried to Will-game and lost, which was a shame, bc having him stay in would have made for a far more interesting season this year!!

P.S. OMG imagine if Dr. Will HAD come back... i would love ot see him chat it up w/ brian.... get all cocky about how he tried to be a puppet master like himself, AND FAILED! Or... maybe will would take him under his wing for a portion of 1 ep and impart some passing wisdom on him (but arrogantly of course... dr. will must always be arrogant... half his charm! LOL)

Posted by gummybear on Aug-08-2008 22:50:

maybe dr. will didn't want to have anything to do with the show...who knows..lol..!

fuuuuuck how awesome was it to see that scumbag piece of shit jessie go home....and then the ugly ass dick sucking bitch michelle wins hoh..i swear i wanna kill that bitch...i don't even want to watch the next episode..watching her ugly ass cry when she reads her letter...and what kind of fuckin people can't handle being away from family for a few weeks..and HELL YA, i would have taken the vacation over a letter...!!!

hating is fun...
