I THINK I SPEAK FOR ALL OF US WHEN I SAY, I HOPE YOU GUYS ARE ALOT MORE ORGANIZED THAN EDC FOR THE ENTRANCES. PEOPLE ALMOST RIOTED

Awakening was half decent, but it would have help if you had someone inform us where the tickets and cash line where, instead of putting a crappy sign that no one could see.

Nocturnal festival 2007 in downtown LA was pretty darn good about getting people in with the 20 lines you guys had, as well as Giant Maximus.

You can tell I go to these events pretty often, so I speak from experience.

I hope that you would implement the same type of system.

thanks

Posted by element-y on Aug-29-2008 21:18:

wow this event is stacked with every genre and great artists.

Posted by Maka08 on Aug-29-2008 21:24:

I've never been to the venue, hope it's a good one.

Solution: get there earlier...

Sorry we haven't replied to everybody here earlier, some valid points are being raised in this thread so hopefully the following will shed some light on the situation.

- The last thing anybody at Insomniac wants is a repeat of the long lines at Electric Daisy Carnival. The final plans for the Nocturnal entrance are still being worked out but we are putting a lot of effort into making sure everybody gets in quickly and safely. The plan right now is to have three separate gates open as general admission entrances plus a separate gate for VIP that can be re-purposed as a GA gate should lines become an issue. Compared to EDC, this is 3 times the entrance capacity for a crowd estimated to be about 30% smaller. We are also planning to (hopefully) do a soft open, meaning the event will be open to the public before it officially starts at 6:00pm.

- On their website, the NOS Events Center claims to have parking capacity for 11,000 cars. On the website for the LA Coliseum, they claim to have parking capacity for 6,000 cars. This is almost twice the parking capacity than what EDC had plus Nocturnal is going to be a smaller crowd, so the parking situation should be better. Even so, we highly encourage everybody to carpool to minimize traffic congestion and parking shortages!

- There was some confusion with the Groovetickets listing when tickets first went on sale: Nocturnal is in fact an all ages event this time around and not 18+ like it was last year. However, there are going to be several 21+ areas where those with proper ID can purchase drinks and hang out. VIP tickets also give you access to other 21+ areas with open bars and free food.

- If you have any specific questions, please contact us via [email protected].

Thank you very very much for this. We all really appreciate the multiple lines to let people get in faster. Having my girlfriend trampled by the crowd in their pushfest to the "roped" off entrance to the official entrance at EDC this year was one of the worst experiences of my eight years of raving.

The last time I remember a major insomniac party at the NOS was EDC and Nocturnal of 2006, and both the the directed parking and line control were great.
