I've seen Armin 7 times, and this year was the worst.
No, dudes, cool down!
If you guys had listened his set in Tabu, Orlando, you would know what Im talking about!
Worst Armin ever!
So many people that don't even know one single track and screaming "Armin, u the best, #1"

Great pics!! Looked like you all had an awesome time . Praise Armin all you want but his sets are only half of what makes these events so memorable .

Someone mentioned young children in attendance.. It's always amusing to see random small children at EDM events (especially when they're glowsticking ). Youngest I've ever seen was in Detroit a few months ago. This couple brought their baby who was no more than 2 or 3 months old at most! It couldn't crawl or walk... actually it was just sleeping, cradled in it's father's arms while he bounced it up and down to the bass thumping techno beats of Richie Hawtin's set . They were on the lawn about 10 - 15 yards away from the actual stage or speakers so not much harm done, just really funny to witness. Doubt I'd bring my newborn to a techno fest lol.

Sooo, I take it there were no fireworks? Fireworks + lasers would have owned you all.

No fireworks. Greenpoint fire dept along with the cops would be there in an instant knowing them. (I live here)

Anyway, I must say this has got to be one of the better weekends i ever had. I had A LOT of fun. Much better than last year. Only thing I have to deal with is the soreness and pain I have.
I havent danced this crazy in a long long time so now I have random soreness and pain everywhere. Hey I did go to Exit club afterwards.

I might not be the #1 fan of Armin since I DO NOT know a LOT of the song names, but I definetly know who AVB is, and I know some of the tracks.
Zocalo, Going wrong, in & out, and there were a few others I dont recall made my night!!
If only McCarren pool was state property and he could of played past 10pm, it would of absolutely insane.

What's next? Paul Van Dyk?

You cant compare the that tracklist and this one..
If you want to me compare Armin sucked. This was the worst worst set I have ever heard. I have been listening ASOT from 320 to 355 but he picked up all unfamiliar tracks.

I want to ask him..
Where was La Guitarra.
Where was Pura Vida..
Where was Ocean Lab..
Where was till the sky falls down..
Where was All the way..
and many many many more..

At Tabu My two legs were destroyed. Armin Sucked this time. I dont know why he did that.. At Tabu he drop Communication and Shivers and Who is watching me at the same time in a row and close the party with Burn with desire..

Carte Blanche cosmic gate remix. He tried to close the set with Carte Blanche. Are you fucking kidding me..?

HE WAS A TOTALLY DISSAPPOINTMENT.

Anyways, I had the party of the year. RIDICULOUS amount of fun. NO drama, no bullshit, no overcrowdedness/overheating of a small club......just a bunch of people going nuts, enjoying the music and the outdoors and each other.

Armin was good (not TW good, but I was hella happy nonetheless!) Legacy was def the highlight for me. I was bugging out while the newbs tried to figure out what this "epic" song was. LOL!!

What was equally important was the VIBE. wowowowo! I cant even describe how insane saturday night was for me. The people, the vibe, the tunes, the lasers, the PEOPLE!! laughing, dancing, repeat......More people than last year for sure, but not enough that we didnt have room to dance and breathe

I had the most fun I have had in years....I remember telling someone that it felt like one of those ol skool parties where you are just having a permanent smile on your face and are actually SAD when its over. The night was just amazing for me, and I have friends to thank for that! (and the afterparty!! woot woot!) And I agree with wai and rob: the early parties, which lead to afterparties that you are still decently awake for, and not ending the "night" at 10am felt great. I ended my night at 4:30 am.... I had a whole day sunday and didnt ruin my weekend for a goddamn party. lol I am getting old, and I admit it!!!

my only complaint was the MIST of rain that kept coming back (you know, where its not *really* raining, but its enough that I had wet clothes and runny makeup the majority of the night.) ewwwww. Beautiful weather after dusk, and the lighting/sound was much more on point this year. Made def listened to us and made the proper changes IMO. Other than that I am sooo glad I decided to go last minute, because it is def a night that I will remember when I look back on my partying days

this might be the funniest thing ive ever read. last year, it was safe to say armin spun one of the weakest sets ive ever heard, but this year was the antithesis of that.

he played bomb after bomb after bomb, really setting it off with Mr.Pit - Shana in the middle.

Btw, whats wrong with closing out with Carte Blanche? Was sick as hell

Hmm... I lied about the Meck/Inpetto Dub track (i'll double check my vids, but i'm pretty sure this was not a part of armin's set). M6 - Fade to black though was \o/!

When is ASOT 2008 coming out? It's late this year...

Also... I'll be at one of the Armada nights in Ibiza this September and will probably be in the market for a new camera by that time - any recommendations ?

I dont compare with that. I compare with tabu @ Florida..

I went armin at Florida Orlanda at may 22nd.
last year he was sick thats why the sound was really low and he wanted to go home..

When armin dropped Going Wrong I begin to say lyrics but ppl were just starting at me. If you even fucking dont know "Going Wrong" why you came the party..

ORLY? Sucks... what spot in the crowd was this? I remember everyone yelling these lyrics out where I was... even to Not The End/Who Will Find me (although since we were so up close it was hard to hear when the lyrics started at times, lol). Haha we even forced lyrics to Take Me Away... though that didn't last long.

all you people who were at Tabu..i was there too..in no way did that set compare to this set..Tabu's set was the same set as Pachita's set here in NYC..youre asking for La Guitarra,Til The Sky Falls Down,Sirens Of The Sea,and whatever else..those tracks are old now..if Armin would of played any one of those we would have been like wtf..i did both tracklists for Tabu and McCarren..McCarren wins..

you are 100% correct my friend. Aspy, were we at the same party?? the people were SCREAMING those lyrics!! And you know what? I dont know the lyrics very well, and do you know why? Because I dont really have the time to upload or listen to all the ASOT's and live sets.

I have been coming to trance events for 6 years and USED to have the time to listen to music in my spare time. But I dont anymore. I am the last person anyone would EVER ask to tracklist (ask the TA's here LOL!!! ).

But ask me if I am appreciating the music and the vibe, and I will tell you "HELL YEAH!!" And ask me if I know a tune that was made pre-2004 (when I had the time and energy to listen to it all day, and was partying every weekend) and you better believe I will bust out the lyrics and the name of the song/producer!

****Sometimes peoples lives OUTSIDE a club might affect their knowledge, but not their SATISFACTION of the music.****just because people dont know the words doesnt mean they dont appreaciate the time they are having. jesus.

(btw I do understand to SOME extent what you are saying, I was surely rolling my eyes at the people who asked me what "silence" was at a tiesto concert once......but lets be serious I never stated that they shouldnt BE there or appreciated the music....)

Plus, I dont know why you would really want him to play the same tracks he has been playing for years. To MOST people, that would piss them off for sure. It gets OLD, and its refreshing to hear new stuff.

oh dear you really are a newb but we've all been there...not sure how many events you've gone to but the crowd is typically overwhelmingly male so any guy who goes to a trance event just to meet woman would do himself a favor and hit up a hip hop event. at least there they'll grind with you and girls tend to get more dressed up / skanked out going to those events. in my 27 years of life i would like to think i know what i'm talking about

Looks like there was a much bigger turnout in regards to crowd compared to last year. I wasn't there but based on G's tracklist there are like may be 5 good songs in there IMO out of 40 something which is quite a shame for the supposed number 1 DJ in this genre. Even with comped entry I am glad I didn't go this year. I'd imagine if I was listening to a set like that even at home I prob would have turned it off. Don't get me wrong...I don't hate him or anything but I don't think he has the potential of ever being my favorite DJ.

Taste is such a subjective thing. What you may consider lame, others may enjoy quite immensely. Where many who attended this event may have had a great time, you would have been miserable. You are what is considered an "irrelevant minority" and I'm sure that many others like me will not lose any sleep over your rather keen and objective opinion. Moreover, next time "#1 DJ elections" roll around, your opinion alone is what is going to decide who should be a #1 DJ. I'm sure that your opinion of Armin will resonate with a vast majority of Armin fans and we will all take your lead and go on worship someone else. Besides, how is Armin going to make a living if he's not a #1 DJ? That's right - he won't! It will be back to poor house for him. And who was there to start this avalanche of a movement? YOU!!!! And that's why your opinion matters.
