That's why spastik is one of the best electronic tracks ever produced, it just takes absolutely any track to the next level. and when that beat drops...so good.

Clearly I suck at Discogs.

Its amazing how much love and respect he gets in Europe compared to his home country.

He was born in England wasn't he?

And I disagree about him being the number 1 DJ IN THE WORLD based on the sole fact that he's playing, producing and releasing music that happens to be "in" at the moment. Right place at the right time? Yea for sure. Does he push technology and music forward? Hell yea. Number 1 though? Nah. They don't hand out gold medals based on chance.

+1, my first thoughts.

The guy has been ahead of the "in" curve for years.

lol. thank god he speaks like a normal human being. i had this crazy thought it my head that he would speak in a weird fake german accent and not make any sense.

with techno and techno parties i can't really deal with the "elite" techno fans. what a miserable bunch. it's like they never heard of having fun. i find that it's mostly the crowd that can ruin a techno party.

plus, it gets pretty monotone after a few hours.

Nov 2003, Pett. I remember the night like it was only yesterday still. One of my top 5 best time in KH.

INSANE party... fucking Sven was ROCKING that place that night! He and Picotoo were muy fantastico! <3 <3

Best call I ever made was choosing to see Sven and Picotto in KH over Oakenfold who was in Guvernment. (Two seperate parties... though it was supposedly going to be possible to do both and go between, but that turned out to be a real disaster...)

I still remember when this used to be my opinion. lol

How times have changed for me. I cant even fathom how i ever could have thought a hard techno party was monotonous or boring.

There are many parties from my past which featured techno that i wish i could do all over again w/ my current level of understanding and appreciation.

Posted by kaniz on Oct-25-2008 14:15:

Didn't you hear. Techno is serious music for serious people to do serious chin-stroking to. You and your dancing, how can you appreciate music if your not rhythmically stroking your chin to it?

YEP!.. i love techno / minimal/techno. But this is TOTALLY true right now. I mean. this guy was always good at what he does... and hes a genius in my opinion. but such a small percentage of people listened to this style music 5 years ago that it didnt really matter like it does now!

LOL at the batymen in the first video hahahahaha

so weird you say that as I thought the opposite when watching the video... well not that he has a german accent but it fully sounds (to me) like he has been speaking english with germans for the last 5 years lol

I wasn't implying in my post that he somehow isn't.

Posted by SpeedJat on Oct-26-2008 06:29:

He may make good music for a select group of people, but he cannot be rated as number 1 dj. His style is unique, and many people associate techno with his name. However, I find that his style is a bit boring. I have seen him a few times, and when I looked at the crowd, I noticed that not many people were really into his music. I even heard a crowd chant "Boring" during his performance. He may work well playing at 5 am for the people that are still awake for various reasons, but may not be able to pump up consistently the crowds while they are still coherent. Sorry this may be a bit of a sarcastic comment, but I hope many of you know what I mean.
All I can say is that he makes good music for a certain sound following group, but cannot be rated as a great dj.

Posted by Skipper on Oct-26-2008 11:48:

^^ Who would you consider a better dj then?

Agreed. It's why I've always loved it.
