I love gin, hangovers are always at a minimum. My new latest mixer is gin and cranberry grape juice, wonderful.
Gin and tonic is also solid, but yeah you NEED the lime.
gin was the shit but now it's all about jesus. he's the real drink of salvation.

I bet they're asleep in New York. I bet they're asleep all over America.
Slams fist unto table, scowling.
Of all the gin joints in all the threads in all the world, she posts into mine.
New Amsterdam Gin is pretty damn good and pretty cheap too surprisingly
I've really started to appreciate cucumber as a good lime alternative. If I'm after a sweeter taste, then cucumber it is. Lime is more punchy so it really depends on how I feel at the time.
Millers and cucumber is sooooooooooo good!
Grapefruit also goes really well with Beefeater 24. Try it
LOL did a gin spam bot really resurrect this after two years? Anywhoo just wanted to add that on a budget, Seagram's or New Amsterdam Gin & Tonic will get the job done as long as the limes are fresh. Can't wait to try all the classy brands suggested in the thread. Also:
Start with a good bottle of Millers and then never look back. Cleanest and crispest gin you will find.

people that ruin perfectly good beer with fruits or vegetables also tend to be the same type of people that end up at the emergency room a few times a year after playing, "will it fit in my bum?".
Good thing this thread is about gin rather than beer.
i'm making this thread about beer because gin is vile and comes in pretty bottles.
My dad still has one of these, from way back before they stopped bottling it like this and began selling only Sapphire

Gin smells nice, in the 18th century whores used to use it for perfume/deodorant and it also doubled as a convenient way of dealing being poked in a dirty alley for threepence and coming home to the misery of having lots of bastard children screaming about having no food... because you spent all your money on Gin!
Aside from that, it tastes horrible.
See that's the thing, by itself it does taste terrible. In the right combination though, wow! Explains why people are so surprised when they try a proper gin and see how good it is.
I mean like anything it's not for everyone but tonnes of people pass up on it for a bad reason.
