yeah we can say the Nuggets trade for Billups was crucial, but I believe if the Nuggets didn't make that trade, they still would have made the playoffs as most likely a 7 or 8 seed, and get ousted in the first round ...... again.

The miller and salmons trade was huge for the bulls. They went from being a mediocre 25-30 win team to a up and coming .500 team with a lot of energy, better defense, and an edge. Nothing to take away from Billups, but this Bulls team is a lot different than before the all star break in my opinion.

rumors are out Garnett could pull a "Willis Reed" and play in Game 7.

Boston went 7 games last year in Round 1 and won in the finals.
This year even if they beat the Bulls they will not even make it to Finals. I do hope the Bulls win. I still want to see the Hawks get into round 2.

Nuggets over Mavs in 6.

Mavs are a waste in the playoffs or unbeatable. Last few years waste but this year no joke. Dirk and company have the ability but when they made the championship a few years back and lost they were like Lebrons CAVs when they made it and lost 0-4!!. A child in a big mans game but this time he is much more exp. and they are like the Lakers but 5 % less.

The nuggets are good but still I don't see a strong team. Just a determined one who made it out of round 1 against the lost hornets. You need strength and will for a ring.

Its like Rocky Vs The russian d00d in #4 but rocky did not train against the russian steriods and advance training sessions.

that was a surprise to us, but I kind of saw that coming, with Golden St winning the season series 3-1 on Dallas before the playoffs. Golden st was just the draw Dallas did not want.

So they improved by five games? Is .500 really that much of an accomplishment in the East?

I think the Bulls are doing better than anyone expected, yes, but I still think they kind of suck. Boston always comes out flat in the first round, and without Garnett and Powe their bench is as deep as igk's kiddie pool. Perkins has played poorly, and Pierce is missing shots he would have made when he was a bit younger. Did Miller really add anything Nocioni didn't already give? Salmons is alright, but he's still streaky as hell and doesn't play any defense.

Denver beat a good New Orleans team by 58. As loaded as the top 8 in the West are, that never happens. With the exception of the Cavs, I don't see anybody in the East even coming close to the remaining teams in the West (Dallas, LA, Denver, or even Houston).

All this smack talk about the mavs... they kinda suck but they are one of my fav teams... I am a big fan of dirk, kid (even though he is old as fuck and needs to retire cause he kinda sucks) and terry.

IMO The bulls were sleepers during the regular season but made it to the playoffs. Once in which is now Ben Gordon and Derrick Rose and others have been playing spectacular just to keep up with the Celtics because before game one I am sure most of the analyst had Celtics easily but the bulls woke up and now we are at game 7!!
(i.e Joakim Noah (reg season 6.7pts/7.6reb, Playoffs 10.7pts/12.6reb)

Hope the bulls def have a next couple of good years and build on this line up because what they have now is more chemistry like the nuggets but the bottom line is consistency.

PS. who thinks the Mavs sucked are crazy. They might be a 6 seed in these playoffs but they don't play like one and you'll see against Denver.

I am a Hornets fan, and I think they crapped it out this year. Peja isn't the same like his Sacramento days. David West isn't as aggressive in the paint like he should. Chris Paul is great and everything, but he's not your typical shutdown point guard that will get you wins down the road. I like Chris Paul, but I just think he's the "pad the stats" guy where he just puts up points and assists. Ah well. we'll see next year, especially with byron scott most likely in jeopardy.

Yeah. these Bulls are clearly not what they were 2 months ago. They started heating it up in March, and continued on. Game 7 tonight!

As for the Mavs, they are hit or miss. yeah Dirk is going to put up his 20+ points, Terry is going to come off the bench as the microwave, and Kidd is going to do his usual stuff. it's all about Josh Howard and JJ Barea, and how much they are going to contribute. I wish they could utilize Brandon Bass a bit more, but they really can't fit him in the same lineup with Dirk, Terry, and Kidd on the floor.

as for the heat-hawks series ..... this has got to be the most boring series out of all 8 series. close second was magic-sixers.

Prediction tonight:

Celtics by 15.

i think it's going to be close, not that big of a disparity. all the games have been decided at 5 points or less except game 3, when boston steamroled chicago. unlike the boston-atlanta series where a good number of them were blowouts, all these games have been fairly close.

i say boston by 4

Posted by LeopoldStotch on May-03-2009 03:16:

good try Chicago, but they clearly weren't ready for Boston tonight.

Bulls couldn't find a bucket tonight.

i was really hoping the bulls would be able to take the celtics, pipedream i guess, it was a grueling series though. so now the celtics get some breathing room before they have to play the cavs, which IMHO is going to be a better series than the finals will be. i want to see lebron get his deserved championship, i don't think boston will be able to stop us this year

in the meantime it looks like i have a whole week of ridiculing all these hawks fans being that i'm in atlanta right now, i say the hawks only make it to game 5 at best

lakers-rockets

this series is going 7, and i see the rockets winning this.

Posted by trunks1022 on May-05-2009 13:14:

gotta love kobe's cheap shot elbow/forearm to battier's head during their first quarter scrum for the ball. if any of the refs saw that, they probably would've just patted kobe on the butt and said, good job son.

I hope Houston doesn't get complacent and can get another win on Wed. I expect Kobe to play all four quarters next game.

About the cheap shots, I'm with you on that trunks. Refs call what they want. It be great if they treated Yao the same way though..but regardless we gotta keep playing with intensity

Posted by LeopoldStotch on May-05-2009 14:20:

gotta love those cheap shots the lakers tried on the rockets. damn the lakers for trying to take out battier, artest, and yao. artest doesn't have any battle wounds to show for it, but the lakers tried to rough him up.

Posted by Trancealot on May-05-2009 17:26:

Bulls could not take advantage of no Garnett. Now its Orlandos turn

Hope Atlanta gives lebron a run for his money. Its more fun to see lebron score 40+ with 20 of it in the forth instead of 20ish and on the bench in the forth

Lakers are good but sometimes decide not to care as much as the other teams.

Maybe the nuggets do have a deeper bench then the MAVs right now. Team leader and everyone does what they are supposed to do then it might be chance for a Western title for them. After that I can't see them winning but well the Pistons beat the lakers that one time and no one ever though because all you heard was shaq this and kobe that but they had cauncy at his best. Right now the nuggets are another form of the pistons but without any Rings.......yet

Posted by Dj Dizzy on May-06-2009 15:44:

hell yeah my wife got tickets to the hawks/cavs game this saturday! i'll be sure to rep my cleveland jersey in atlanta, as i do on a normal basis anyway

go cavs!!!!

Posted by digitalbreach on May-07-2009 16:14:

hopefully this isn't a replay of Dallas vs Rockets series from a few years back.

all I got to say is refs are questionable.

houston rockets!!!! I'm loving it.

Orlando could not capitalize. Most teams with 3 or less seconds left don't have a chance to win it i.e missed shot, turnovers whatever but down by 1 is most likely a loss for them. For the Celtics this is not the case and they came thru again but with someone you would not expect. As of now Orlando just realized this and I am sure they won't make the same mistake again.

Next game thoughts
1. game 5, if Orlando has the lead after halftime they win.
2. Cavs win the series
3. Mavs win game 4
4. game 5, Kobe scores 30ish with derek back at it, lakers win

Same thing up by 5 to even 11+ the whole game!! and then the Celtics get the lead with less than a minute left. I knew it was over from that point.

Damn Orlando does not deserve a championship this year. They don't have it yet like a true team you can depend on. MIght have a line up better than most teams but nothing you could rely on for a true winner this year unless somehow they miraculously change and win the next two games in a row.
