Next week. tickets go up!

Posted by element-y on Nov-29-2008 21:20:

Are they bringing the european announcer guy - the one who does all the ID&T shows and what not? I think he is the same guy who announced the people for armin only that was live. That guy always cracks me up. If so, tell him to get the names of the guests correct this time haha.

PPLLEEAASSEE....leave MC Stretch (that's his name) in europe??!!

ARMIN!!!

Posted by costizzle on Dec-09-2008 19:40:

oh armin plz let me bow down in your dj holy'ness. you are oh so great. plz play for 9 hours straight at tao. plz dont let any other dj take you down from your throne no matter how boring you make get since 9 hours is a hell of a long time for a commercial progressive trance dj.

idk im just skeptical of a 9 hour set from him when there could be other dj's pumping it out.

Hey I was just wondering if anyone here in TA ever tried to buy that Cabana package for massive raves presented by GoVentures / Insomniac... this one costs $3000 for 6 people!

If so, was it worthed? Did you get to meet the DJs in person? Or what were the benefits that you get (or something extraordinary) from just a regular or VIP ticket?

I was doing the math, it's $3000.. let's say I have 30 of my friends to join the Cabana, that'd be an extra $100 per person! But would it fit?

9 hours of armin is way too much

And there lies the problem. I can always handle 5-6 hours but how quality will it be?

The Armin Only DVD was pretty sick visually, but it didn't appeal to the dancing part of my brain. I did see him in NYC for Halloween and he was excellent, but I feel Armin Only Events have different stigma attached to them compared to a club night.

More than likely I'll end up going and having a great time but if I hear Human or Going Wrong I'll start throwing shit.

Hey guys,

Just a quick question...

I'm booking a hotel downtown LA, what time should I leave if I want to be in by 7?

See you guys there!

If you called a cab ahead of time, you should be fine by leaving at 5:30, although you may want to get out of the cab at Figueroa and Exposition and walk if the traffic is already tough. When we saw Armin Only in downtown in July 2006, we were there when it opened and we got right in. But that entire event was much more well-structured compared to any event I've been to at the SA (including a few TAO's).

Have you looked into a room at the Radission on Figueroa? It's not a great hotel but it works well and the location is perfect. It's a quick walk to the Sports Arena. That way you wouldn't have to worry about finding taxis on NYE in LA. Here's a link if this may be helpful:

HTH.

So I'm still in need of some convincing. Will this be different from the Armin Only show that he played in LA? Do you think it will be better?

Debating whether to go... Any chance of another Rank 1-appearance?

Posted by element-y on Dec-10-2008 17:49:

well live keys better be there so maybe rank1 again.

I totally agree. Even 1hr is too much for me if it's full of proggy, fluffy tracks. I know who some of the guest artists are but even they don't get me excited enough. Then again, I'm going to this event for other reasons. And they have the other rooms with different kind of music I can go check out. One friend in our party group won't be into the music either so we already decided that if we get really bored we'll just get really drunk and find shenanigans to get into

A hotel room within walking distance is a good idea. We live in LA and we still booked a room because we don't wanna deal with the driving and parking nightmare.

at TAO there are many things one can get in too

I can not wait!!! I had a shirt made and ordered the skirt to go with it. Can not wait!!!
