One of the best disco adaptations I've ever heard. The lyrics are a bit too flamboyant for me, but it's very well done.

Baxendale - I built this city for you (Michael Mayer Remix)

yea, so what? disco music was made to fit in and be played at gay disco clubs. baxendale & mayer are just trying out the same epic vocals, dramatic build-up, etc.

i know! i've slowly been working my way through this thread. i've been spending most of my free time working on a new mix.

btw, you posted 2 of my all time favorite feel-good tunes... Bombdogs - I Can't Explain and Ethan - In My Heart.

Julian Poker Remix!

Also, Bent - Always (Ashley Beedle's Mahavishnu Mix)

There were a few others from a Luke Fair set from Sydney that were amazing, but now I can't find the set.

still waiting

Posted by lücid on Nov-12-2008 15:59:

waiting for Fred Everything?

definitely curious... i dig a lot of his productions but i don't think i've ever heard a mix or set from him.

Posted by elFreak on Nov-12-2008 16:05:

yea...i am trying another source for now, will report back.

he tends to start more deep house, then before you know it it gets funky as fuck.

he used to be one of the better local djs before he moved to san fran.

Posted by lücid on Nov-12-2008 16:10:

just the way i like it. deep house and funky house are my two loves.

Posted by winston on Nov-12-2008 16:32:

Nilo - A Summer song (Davoli's Propane remix)

&

AB/DC The Feeling (5:20)

let me know if you get these because they are really hard to get.

Howells used to play a lot of him, so I'm very intrigued.

Fred has a decent collabo with JT Donaldson late last year w/ 'Here Come The Beats'/'I Said' release.

i haven't heard much after that.

and then add the Lisa Stansfield 'People Hold On' acapella over it (just as DH did in his 10 hr 2004 ARC set), and im ... delirious

Posted by lücid on Nov-13-2008 03:17:

i've been meaning to add this to this thread for a while, but a few of the DJs i've been enjoying sets from recently who fulfill my desire for funk - albeit on a deeper / more minimal tip - are Move D, Chateau Flight (live PA), Dixon, and Vincenzo.

i'll post up some sets tomorrow.

So I was listening to Summer Romance this morning. And, Ambrosia is like pretty good and all... but wow, the first four tracks of Summer Romance are a hell of a way to start the day.

Can you please upload Summer Romance?
Preferably to Megaupload...

Thanks!
