Just go in with some kind of general game-plan. Outside of that, I wouldn't overanalyze or over complicate anything. If you're not a creep, it isn't that hard to put a smile on a girls' face.
What the sh!t is going on in here?!? First and foremost, you are 27. You should have enough experience already to know what you should do on a first date. Asking others for advice is trying to be something you are not.
You know you better than you think it, you are just lacking confidence. This is KEY for anyone. The main problem here is the fact that most people don't understand the difference between confidence and being cocky; that is of course because there is a fine line.
Go with the flow, be yourself and watch when she drops hints. Women drop them ALL the time and men are just too oblivious. She clearly wants to go out and have a good time but its up to you to be spontaneous and add that extra bit of excitement.

with a name like Blaze why would you question his wording.. mine is atrocious!
oh and I am a very late bloomer... I am 27 but i look and feel like I am 19 !!!
lol forgive me for my "atrocious" spelling and grammar. Seriously, I think you took it the wrong way. The last thing I am trying to do here is criticize you. My moniker is completely irrelevant. Regardless, who am I to give YOU advice? We all have our opinions to share and you should take it for what it is, but if I were you I would do what I know best and what has worked out well in the past.
OH!!! I had to read it again a couple of times! My bad, sorry, nothing wrong with spelling or grammar.
"you know you better than you think it"...what you meant was "you know yourself better than you think"...totally made sense though.
