As far as sending in Canadian troops I completely oppose. There is no sense in sending in innocent men and women when both sides lack the basic respect for each other. You want peace then stop taking sides and listen to each other and respect each other. Stop trying to place blame on each other and figure out how to fix it.

Everyone needs to take responsiblity for their actions and learn to live in peace.

Nothing being said on this website is going to change a damn thing there. We cannot stop the war from Tranceaddict...although I think some people think they can. If you want to make a difference then provide us with information that will allow us to contribute to the cause....not just one sided news articles that spew propaganda

Perhaps what he meant to say was that there was never an ethnic or religious group or race called the "Palestinians" prior to the current state of Israel being formed. There was a general region called Palestine, but it was occupied by many different groups at many different times.

The "Palestinian", however, is a new invention. Before World War II, the geographical area that is presently Palestine was very sparsely populated and had virtually no agriculture or production at all. Even the religious history, the Qu'ran, doesn't specifically mention a Palestinian people or state (to my knowledge, anyway).

There may or may not have been one or more states of Israel on that land; it doesn't really matter. Either way, today's Palestinians have no more historical claim to the land than Israelis do.

If you have it in your mind to ask for proof, then I'm sorry to say that the burden of proof is on you, because it is a logical impossibility to prove the non-existence of a thing. If you truly believe that Palestinians all belong to some ancient close-knit civilization then explain where you know this from.

It's all beside the point anyway because this isn't a land claim, it's holy war. Unfortunately, Israel and most of the western world has a hard time understanding holy war, so they prefer to treat it as a land claim. That mentality may be convenient but it will never end the war.

Sorry for wasting everyone's time with my so called extreme views, I just feel that nothing I can say is going to be taken seriously here. The discussion is far too shallow, I had hoped we could really delve into the real problems and issues for once.

Anas, I really can appreciate what you're trying to do here..it seems that you have a lot of knowledge and an actual idea of what he fuck is going on in this world..but..when it comes to this debate..i find that people only want to deal from a position of emotion and not hard facts..it's pointless to try to change the minds of certain types of people.....i know i have tried to "enlighten" people in the past..and a lot of them looked at me as if i was crazy...and i quickly learned that there are some people who will go through life being fed a certain type of reality..

people have their own realities....and to them these realities are a source of comfort..many people in this world truly don't want to turn off CNN or FOX ...they don't want to discover their own truths..they want to be fed..the one thing we all have is the ability and free will to feed our minds.....and it is so sad to see that there masses of people who choose to not take up the opportunity to learn...

these comments are not directed at those who can debate this issue with facts...it's directed at those who basically spew out what they have heard from CNN/FOX..etc...
