Very comfortable to shoot and great sights. I absolutely love it. If you don't don't mind sacrificing some rounds, I'd recommend the PPS since the P99 series is a little bulky to carry. A little more recoil with the reduced mass but still very manageable, nothing like the bite from a PPK.

Why in the name of christ would you ever need an M4 Carbine in your house? I'd still like one though

What i've never gotten is the most common answer gun owners provide when asked about why they own guns: "It's my right as a U.S. citizen" or "It's in the Constitution". You can boil that down into "because i can", which i think we can all agree is a fucking stupid reason for anything.

I know, nobody really needs a gun in their house. Doesn't stop guns being cool though

I feel the same way they look cool, I've fired them, but I have no desire to own one. I don't think I could shoot someone and wouldn't want the responsibility of have a deadly weapon in my home.

*fixed

Everything you own, you have because it's allowed and you then choose to purchase it. Millions don't own guns because the have interest in them. Just like race cars, motorcycles, RV's, golf clubs, cdjs, if there is an activity you enjoy you buy the tools to enjoy such activity. I enjoy shooting therefore I own guns legally.

And yes, we have several handguns, but to practice our shooting and for protective reasons - not to kill people. And yes, we both have concealed weapons permits (which, ps, you have to take a class on shooting before you can have one), and yes, you DO have a wait period before you can just leave with a gun.

I don't have ninja skills, so if someone breaks into my house, I can't exactly throw a knife at them and hit them - nor would I seem scary with it either. However, when I come down the hall with a shotgun - and they hear the 'click-click', chances are that person is going to think twice about continuing with the break-in.

What the fuck, your boyfriend goes out and shoots your dinner? What on earth sort of things is he hunting that requires such an array of weapons? Unless you're confusing your boyfriend with Rambo...

USA 303,824,640

Population numbers

US has 60 times greater a population. From your numbers, any idea what numbers correspond to legally purchased firearms.

303,824,640 / 5,062,011 = 60.02

math ftw

Foolish, never go back to a previous statistic, you run the risk of letting others in on a single slip-up and could blow your entire cover.

here's another comparison......

State of Indiana... Size about 92900 sq Km, population 5.5M (about)
Scotland Size about 78772 sq Km, population 5.0M (about)

so you would agree that these are two comparable entities by landmass and population,,,,

1999 Gun murders in Scotland... 7 according to the previous poster
1998 Gun murders in Indiana.... 454 according to source

and Indiana is lame compared to some of the trigger happy hot spots in the US........

Posted by shadow_419 on Feb-07-2009 01:38:

Gun crime

"Applying a hotspot perspective to firearm crime suggests a focus on both places and people. Research in Indianapolis found that only 3 percent of the city's addresses accounted for 100 percent of the gun crimes"

It's the people not the guns.

btw Indiana ranked 20th in 2006 for murder rate per 100,000 people.

Murder Rates

Precisely. People are not responsible enough to be trusted with owning guns, so they should have them taken away.

So should everyone have their cars taken away because some people are too retarded to not drink and drive?

You know you're right the people that don't stay on the right side of the law should have the guns taken away and be locked behind bars. The problem is stupid judicial system won't leave them there long enough.

Posted by ZeJayMan on Feb-07-2009 01:48:

I believe that the right permits should be given to people for example, farmers, in handling certain types of hunting weapons, shotguns or rifles.

I just don't see the point in having a gun that you mow down an entire classroom without having to reload. They're not normally used in a hunting situation. (Like that massive shotgun thing up there).

That's how it is here. And the UK too, I would guess?

Posted by ZeJayMan on Feb-07-2009 01:57:

yeah, you need to have the permit. theres about one and a half million shotguns in the UK and that's for people who own farms or lots of land as far as i know, or if you work as a gamekeeper or something of the sort.

That's just a regular 6-8 round pump shotgun with storage space for extra ammo.

To own a gun here, you need to be either a cop, in private security, in the armed forces, or a livestock farmer. That's it, as far as I'm aware.
