| Originally posted by Skipper I used to be weirded out by people who didn't give a shit about being naked but then I realized it was because I wish I felt the same level of comfort and confidence being that way. Now I don't give a shit as much. I get dressed but if it's not convenient to do so, I don't. IE I do not "towel change" in front of others. WE'VE ALL GOT THE SAME GOODS DOWN THERE. |

Get over your hangups, peeps - if you're uncomfortable around nudity, it might be time to take a look into *why* that's the case. Too easy to point the finger outside of yourself, rather than looking inside for the answer. |
No Ev, I'm not that ignorant, and yes, I realise that we all carry our own little cache of cultural, religious and genetically ingrained differences.
I also believe that it doesn't hurt to be reminded every once in a while that we also carry the capacity to unbind ourselves from our conditioning and the neuroses that often accompany.
P.S.: I'm naked right now. Pretty gross.

| Originally posted by Djsketchbag Honestly what the f$%# is wrong with old people, I go to good life and its only the dudes who are 60 plus that prance around butt naked around the change room. Like I wear a towel till I change and then Im naked for a few seconds, Im six nine I have nothing to hide its just a respect thing Im sure other dudes don't need to see my junk. But these old guys walk to the shower with their towels on their shoulders with their old saggy balls flopping around and some of them shower with the curtain open like do I need to see that and to make matters worse they come to the benches and put one foot up on the bench and talk to each other ..... ahhhhhh gross |

| Originally posted by jennypie So was I. But not understanding that people can be mean or hurtful is unrealistic. Learning to deal with those situations IS part of growing up. Developing your OWN positive inner dialogue that doesn't give a fuck what other people think/say, and recognizes that other people's opinions don't actually change who you are unless you let it....that's rational. Getting all "Oh boo hoo, someone made fun of me, I'm gonna take it all personal, wah wah!" and idealistically expecting that everyone is going to be "nice" all the time is plain retarded, and shows a misunderstanding of human nature. |
wow, some of you have major problems.

| Originally posted by DigiNut I'm not an authority to say for sure, but I think it's different with guys. Your junk is tucked away neatly whereas ours is flapping in the wind. For a guy, if you're doing the towel change then maybe you're a bit insecure, but changing out in the open is a far cry from swingin' up onto the bench next to some dude minding his own business trying to put his shoes on and jiggling your spam sausage around at eye level. I don't care if it's half the size of mine and makes me feel like an elephant by comparison, I still don't want to see it. Some people see any place where it's OK to be naked as an excuse to prance around naked, and there is a difference. I think you missed my point. I don't care about merely seeing somebody else's junk. And I'm not really talking about the people who simply don't care about showing theirs, I'm talking about the ones who appear to be mild exhibitionists and seem to be trying very hard to get everybody to see their junk. And for obvious reasons, a number of these people gravitate toward the gym. I don't go to a public gym anymore but I still remember what it was like; I don't think some of these people even used the equipment, they just loitered around the showers and locker rooms for untold hours.
If a teacher did this in a high school locker room he'd most likely be immediately labeled a pedophile and unceremoniously fired.
Yes, there are more important things to get worked up over. For the most part, I don't get worked up. As long as I'm able to go on about my business and ignore you without you calling attention to yourself, then knock yourself out.
As I said - I can't pretend to know what goes on in a women's locker room but I don't think you realize how bad some of the guys are. They are not merely kicking back, rocking out with their cocks out as it were; they're figuratively and in some cases quite literally throwing them in people's faces.

| Originally posted by DigiNut Yes, really. Couple of times I've had someone decide to put one leg up on the bench right next to me and hang their junk at eye level, and then start talking to me presumably to make sure I was paying attention. I mentioned that earlier. I wasn't joking or exaggerating. |
