I was surprised to see my name on that list. But I instantly did a quick search on what Deep House is and it turns out that I have quite a few tracks in the genre .

So I guess that it's time I learned how to mix!!! I'll be busy for the next few days or so (Grandfather's big 70th birthday bash and he lives out of state). BUT I'll do what I can. I've fucked around with a friends CD-Js once or twice, how hard could making a mix be...?

fixed for the guy that volunteered without ever mixing or knowing how to in the first place. :| that's like trying out for lead guitarist in a band without ever picking up a guitar. why would you do that?

I was just suggesting a genre of music (nu skool breaks). I didn't think my name would be put into the draw. But fuck it, there's a first time for everything, right?

I've already got (what I'm hoping to be) a pretty decent tracklist together. I guess it'll be just short of an hour total. I might add some more, who knows?

We'll see. Hopefully I don't make anyone's ears bleed .

Oops, that was unfortunately just the way to enter this. If you do it anyway, great.

Edit: I hope there aren't more people who just posted a genre and don't actually want to mix. Some haven't posted since the drawing...

Sorry, but I think it's you who screwed up. If you read the first post you'll see that the key point of this whole thing is that you do not get to play the genre you post, but one that's randomly selected. Seems like you misunderstood.

also, i think the point of this is doing it for the lulz and see how you can research and get other people from the group to help you with the genre youve got, its not like we are recording a masters collection or a balance.

palm if you wanna switch your german techno for my french house i'm all about it. i've been really, really getting down with certain flavors of techno lately and i was thinking about making a techno mix anyways.

If we're swapping genres why not just pick one we feel most content with?

If we're swapping genres we might as well call this thing off...C'mon guys, make the effort. If you weren't down with the idea that you might end up getting ANYTHING then you shouldn't have entered in the first place. There's even one guy that doesn't mix at all that's going to be making the effort of coming up with a deep house set.

I would have loved to get French House actually. I was actually hoping for either that one, Indie Dance/Nu Disco, or Techno.

Man, I'm a bit upset I missed the boat to register... this is a great idea and hope to see it come back, I'm also pretty interested in hearing a lot of the mixes.

Not to mention I think there should have been a 2-step garage as one of the genres
