I'd have to say my biggest guilty pleasure artist is Justin Timberlake whereas my biggest guilty pleasure band is Panic! At the Disco.

Everything else, I'm not really ashamed of at all.

Except for Radiohead for the most part...everything else has been whored and overplayed so much so, that they have the value of Britney Spears's latest album imo.

Ya I have to say RnB kicked ass back in the 90's

Posted by infiniteJEST on Mar-11-2009 14:45:

not really a guilty pleasure band, but i'm a sucker for thematic music. themes to video games & movies - high chance that i'll love it.

i got the three-disc soundtrack to Lord of the Rings the other day & i really like it.

not really embarrassed about it.

i suppose for a legitimate guilty pleasure band i'd have to say The Three Tenors. you know, the guys who sing opera arias & shit.

but i'm not all too embarrassed about that either.

That still doesn't explain why she would marry a tool like Bryan Adams, errrr, Ryan Adams.

Whoring and overplaying have nothing to do with quality. You must think you're so 1337 feeling guilty about liking bands based on their popularity.

Yeah, man, everyone knows you can only feel good if you're listening to music from the underground!

As for me, I don't see it as a guilty pleasure, but I've listened to the Amy MacDonald album a hundred times or so. Poison prince

Having said that, the stuff I listen to nowadays is so varied it's hard to identify a 'guilty pleasure'.

Posted by montana on Mar-13-2009 17:08:

abba probably i dunno. i'm not ashamed of liking the cookie cutter/marionettepuppet pop that i do listen to like some of the girls aloud tracks and the number of britney tracks or the sugababes ones or the token spice girls one. you cannot be hardcore all the time, but i do try to hide the fact that i bought a limp bizkit cd like 8 years ago or so.

Girls Aloud

Posted by Specimen303 on Mar-13-2009 20:07:

Some bands that i like which some of my friends wouldn't propably understand: Colbie Caillat, Kings of Leon, Gabriella Cilmi, Lady Hawke, billy idol

But I like all sorts of music like:

Black/death metal/grind core: Judas Iscariot, Bathory, Venom, Celtic Frost, early Mayhem, Burzum, Sarcofago, Mtiilation, Cannibal Corpse, Nunslaughter, Von, Hemdale, Exhumed, Aura Noir...etc.

Industrial (rock): Nin, rammstein, kmfdm, ministry, marilyn manson...etc.

Industrial (ebm): Combichrist, Agonoize, Angelspit, Zombie Girl..etc.

Rap (the ones that are about sex, drugs and insulting other people, not the ones with some rnb women sounding singer dudes).

Other styles like rock, rockabilly, psychobilly, blues, jazz, nordic folk music, ethnic percussive music...

There are just too much music I like.
