Lol. I warned y'all that I would be taking a page out of the Hunter S Thompson handbook & consuming a good chunk of bourbon, which would inevtibly angry up the blood & lead to much weirdness.

I'm glad I delivered

im a huge fan of digweed and if i found out he was at the same shopping mall i was at that day, i wouldnt have a hard-on like some guys did on saturday when they heard GSP was at guv. i would say "its cool that hes here. let him do his thing." and i would do my thing.

Pfft GSP can kick Digweed's ass :P

lol it's like seeing a celebrity or a popular sports star. GSP is Canada's athlete of the year.

I thought Guvernment was amazing, I went with some of my friends from Jersey, nugga and a buddy of his.

We got there around 11:30, a little later than we wanted to due to traffic at the border with customs and all.

Thankfully, the line wasn't that long at all, about 10 minute wait, we got into the guvernment, not sure who was playing at the time but we were searching for koolhaus for a while. Eventually, we found it and lo' and behind Gareth Emery is playing!

First time seeing him and he was banging out Ferry Corsten - Made Of Love right when we walked in. I liked his set overall and his track selection. Some highlights was his new track "Exposure", "This Is Silence", "New Time, New Place", "Metaverse", and some bangin' tracks at the end of his set. Definitely wanna see him again.

Armin was on afterward, he started out HARD with SVD - Aurora. The beginning of his set started off well with tunes like cosmic gate, dash berlin, lost connection, off the world (first state), etc... The crowd was kinda annoying, we were up in front near armin, but as time went on, we somehow got somehow kept getting pushed further back.

Armin eventually got boring so we went to go check out markus. Unfortunately, now hearing what tracks he played after we left, we should have stayed.

I was never a big fan of markus and I can't say he won me over that night either, some notable tracks were "another aria, another epica", Rafael Frost - Red (Ferry Corsten Remix). We were there for a while, then we headed back to koolhaus and menno was playing.

And what can i say about menno? BEST set of the night hands down. Hes closing the night with an epic trance filled with classics and choons. I remember hearing Cygnes, Dream Machine, Madagascar, Pure Thrust, Carte Blanche, and some others that I forgot. I was feeling quite tired at 5AM and such but he kept me awake! I ran out of space on my camera so I couldn't record much of his set, but I did get a picture with him.

I really wanted to check out Jerome Isma-Ae and Dekay but unfortunately got there late

Overall for me as far as best sets go,

1. Menno
2. Gareth Emery
3. Armin
4. Markus

I'm making some short vids from the night, will upload soon.

So I had made the decision to skip all the wonderful events Toronto had to offer this past weekend ( Radio Slave, Hernan Cananeteo, and Contact which scared me) all the take a bus down to Montreal. For those of you that have me on facebook Im sure you were all well annoyed with the week long count down( sorry) but SANDER KLEINENBERG can bring that type of excitement out in a person. And let me say first HE FUCKING DELIVERED, a small Venue with Sander Kleinenberg is WOW . Also did I mention it was a DVDJ set? There were 12 large lcd screens on the wall behind him (Which had to be help up by broom sticks LOL )

So I got in literally right as Sander was just setting up and I had unfortunately missed 98% of Maher Daniels set but I was told it was great and the whole vibe was pretty good, and very ancy for the man to come on. ( or maybe was that just me ?) but Sander came on and me and mikey were right there . 2 feet away all night able to talk with him and see everything. And there was no way in which we were moving from that spot oh no way in hell. He played one hell of a rocking set, it was completely different from what we heard from him at Guvernment 12th Anniversary that also extends to his DVDJ portion its a whole new look from what you would expect.

The Set was very fun bouncy, and maintained the same groovy feeling all night long, and completely rocking us away with a very well programmed set. One thing I loved about tribe was the fact that there is a sound tech ( and lighting I guess) that sits right beside the DJ, which results in a lot better sound quality, as it was left all night long, and my ears werent ringing at all .. There was appoint in the night where we wanted to get something autographed and we didnt have any flyers considering we had just gotten off the bus , so mikey pulls out a water bottle and I a five dollar bill, and signs it WATER & MONEY, then returned to sign his name on it, Genius!

The crowd inside was very nice as well everyone was really friendly not overly pushy Very nice to meet you stereohead and Alexx G there were two things about the crowd however.

1 Why was everyone so short (is this a Montral thing every night I went out I felt like I should be saying Fee Fi Fo Fum)

2 at a point in the night around 2 am I turned around and it was EMPTY ! the club had more or less cleared out, I was told security started forcing people to leave which seems odd if the headliner was still on .

I personally have only been to tribe one other time before this on its opening night, but as a venue I did really like it. It was pretty generous in space but still small, its really quite bright and doesnt have the darkness I have become use to in Toronto. But the layout is well suited for this type of event.

A few tracks he played that night:

SANDER KLEINENBERG THIS IS OUR NIGHT
Gui Boratto No Turning Back
Music Matters Faithless ( Mark Knight Remix)
SANDER KLEINENBERG - MY LEXICON
Calvin Harris - I'm not alone
Ladyhawke - Paris Is Burning
Simon and Shaker - Star Stuff
I will add more as I remember them
