You guys really need to get your act together.

When I said VIP, I was referring to that one time on another thread that someone mentioned that one time in VIP a girl that works for Pacha was asking people/customers for her fix of E while serving people. its on another thread but I cant find it right now.

Ive been three times to Pacha one time last summer, during winter and now. Its only gets worse every time I come.

Edit: hellosam just wrote about the girls in vip above

yeah that was me

I think that MAYBE she felt comfortable doing so because I was friendly/knew a lot of the people including her boss...so maybe she thought I was "cool" or something? not sure. but her boss....would NOT be ok with that, from what I understand. though I could be wrong.

I dont even know what to think of Pacha Management anymore, given whats been happening lately with how they treat their customers.

I miss crobar. I swear I never had one SINGLE problem there.....I miss the space, the workers, the venue, everything.........

Pacha is a freaking nightmare, only made worse by the fact that I actually *enjoy* the larger venues with the lasers, the big crowd, etc....but only when run PROPERLY

Going from my beginning years of the Guvernment and the Docks to now, PACHA, is just killing me Im sorry, but vibe/venue DOES contribute a LOT to the experience for me.......

Posted by euphoria on Jun-22-2009 16:50:

Sadly it will keep happening as long as people continue patronizing the establishment despite all the negative aspects. If they don't see business declining they think it's acceptable. They assume you are going to come back regardless because it's "Pacha" or make an exception for certain DJ's. How they won best club... I really don't know, but they should honestly send in someone to investigate that looks like the average clubber so they can experience a taste what we go through on a typical night there. It's not just lately either. I've experienced the same thing at the very first party I attended there shortly after their grand opening.

I think this may be a somewhat misplaced comment. Pacha MANAGEMENT is actually cool as hell.

It seems that Friday has left people with a bad taste in their mouth about Pacha in general. I'm not saying I don't understand that...I was there on Friday for a total of 10 minutes before I left. It was just way too crowded, and I knew I wouldn't have enjoyed myself if I stayed any longer.

The one thing you have to realize, in regards to bouncers and even wait staff, is that when a venue is that full, their jobs get exponentially harder. I'm not saying it gives them them the right to act like dicks if thats how they were acting.

For example though...at 1:30, security guards weren't allowing people down onto the main floor, which sucked. People were pushing anyway, trying to get down, and the security guards were getting pissed, cursing, pushing people back. On the surface, if you're just standing there, you're thinking "fuck these asshole security guards." But the fact is, for safety reasons, they are not allowed to let anyone down. Its not their call, but they HAVE to enforce it...legally.

I'm not saying that you guys don't have a right to be pissed. If you're paying money for an event, you shouldn't be treated badly. I would only say that maybe we need to pick our events a little more carefully lol. If I had known that ATB was going to a draw a crowd THAT huge, I wouldn't have attempted it. But, lesson learned. Hopefully next time they book him at a bigger venue...god knows he (ATB) can pull it off.

If someone is acting up then their behavior would be justified however there are a bunch of civil decent human beings on this board that just want to have a good time and enjoy the music and they don't bother anyone. Why would they have to be treated poorly based on the bouncer's history of incidents in the club or based on the club's over capacity.

May be a little too cool if this is what they let their employees get away with. I wasn't there last night but this type of behavior has happened to me at Pacha more than once and I wouldn't dare return again unless I was in VIP.

It is also possible that who ever is in charge of the hiring process needs to re-evaluate who they are hiring. If you hire low quality people for less pay the service surely suffers.

I understand that. I'm not saying that the TAs who complained deserved mistreatment on Friday lol. But as packed as the venue was on Friday, imagine how much shit those bouncers had to deal with all night. Their patience must have been wearing thinner than usual. I'm not saying its an excuse, but rather a (sort of understandable) reason.

Posted by hellosam on Jun-22-2009 17:25:

@ Zack:

I agree that management are cool people. Ill give them that. But they are in over their heads now. They are not running (from my perspective) the business well anymore.

A business is and should be based wholey on their customer service level- as this is what will keep them up on top. Its very easy for a night club to lose it. As wel ALL KNOW.

However, if they are allowing too many people, and making their epmployes jobs so hard that it is ok to call PAYING CUSTOMER derogatory statements or making them need to actually TAKE ILLEGAL DRUGS in order to complete their jobs- then something is wrong, and sadly- that is MANAGEMENTS problem. They are the ones that call the shots and the only ones that can create a plan to reesolve this issue.

To me, the answer is less people in the club. BUT im not a club owner, i have no idea...maybe theres another way to fix this. But, of the biggest issues i see mentioned here, we are talking about a club that is selling too many tickets...too many vip's and just acting greedy over all- not taking the time to create a special and unique atmosphere for their clients in hopes that they are spoken of highly.

If you go out of your way to make me feel like you dont care about how i am treated, or my safety or let your employees swear to custmores then i personally feel as though you could care less about me and the rest of your clients. aka bad management

lol did you actually read my complaint? It had nothing to do with bouncers or even servers. I totally get that they have a tough job and I even made note that I have never had a problem with the bouncers or VIP servers. (so far)

Me and the others around me were screamed at by some bitch who claimed to work there and thus "can do whatever the f*ck she wants."

Seeing as the patrons were simply standing there, waiting for drinks, while there was a clear, big path, less than one foot away, I dont see how any of that is justified for being pushed physically with her hands, being called a "f*cking bitch" and proclaiming: "I can do whatever the f*ck I want because I work here" .....and THEN calling people names.....ah yes names were **actually** called, and she was extremely insulting. The girl had a complete meltdown and scream attack over something that SHE was causing!! Merely because I (and others) said something that would make sense and be the rational choice? whatever!! she is lucky I didnt slap in in the god damn mouth.

lol, I did, but I wasn't responding to you...

I was more just touching on some of the general complaints people seemed to have about the night.

The girl you guys encountered seems like a wack job though.

this whole situation just pissed me off so badly that I cant honestly see going there as much as I used to. Thats about 8 less tables a year for them. I really may only go for someone like Ferry or markus, because I just wouldnt want to miss them.

I have to say that, while I dont mind the VIP service itself, even the VIP is becoming a clusterf*ck. Why am I paying all this money to have a special "area" to myself, when the bouncers are letting every tom, dick and harry up there for free? (especially at the end of the night when they just OPEN the doors to whomever wants to roam up there??)

There had to be 5 million pppl in VIP the other night, as well as other nights!! I have to watch my alcohol at all times because there are a ton of people trying to take my booze/and or knocking it over because of the overcrowded traffic. I have ZERO view because there are 500 people lined up that havent even PAID for VIP, and I cant even walk around comfortably because of all the people up there. I even had my camera and money stolen at Markus this year. I set my clutch down for 5 seconds to pour myself a drink, and I couldnt even tell who could have taken it, because there were about 20-30 people surrounding my table at the time.

The difference is the bouncers are GETTING paid to take that shit, and they are fully aware that it comes with the territory. I feel no pity for them. No, its not an easy job but it's the line of the work they chose. Meanwhile WE are paying the club to enjoy ourselves not get yelled at, harassed, pushed, etc.

and yes Kelly wasn't referring to a bouncer in her complaint but I've personally had bad experiences with them.

Damn you had ur whole purse stolen? That fuckin' sucks! I am so sorry to hear that It's quite a pain in the ass, especially when there are id's, credit card etc involved. I've had it happen to me before as well tho not at Pacha.

losing shit at clubs blows, i lost an iphone 3g at pacha during ferry last year and $200 shades at VC @ neptunes, but my fault i was wrecked both times. but the worst is when they over charge my credit card at cielo and pacha, i'd sign for 24$ for a bottle of water and a drink including tip at gareth they charged 32. once at webster hall they charged me 180 instead of 140$

own fault though

Kelly, I thought I was the only to loose stuff. Thursday night of Tiesto at Wh, I was going nuts to a song Tiesto dropped and next thing I know, my $700 digital camera and iPhone was goneee. I was looking for it the whole night lol And on NYE, I lost my Tiesto jersey which was signed by him.

Posted by mjmoney23 on Jun-22-2009 23:43:

Once again, does anyone know who did that Kings of Leon remix?

omg thats a lot of stuff!!!
booo!!

z: yeah it was SUCH a bummer! we were in one of those weird awkward tables in the corner (we got there at like 1:30 and got stuck with a shit table). In order to put my clutch down and pour a drink, I kinda had to turn my back to it....money and camera gone!! no credit cards, thank god, but I did have to get a new ID and still no camera

Its retarded that I cant pour a drink for 5 seconds without a million (probably non-paying VIP people) surrounding my table and stealing my shit......If they had regulated the amount of people up there, I am certain that there would be a hell of a lot less chance of my shit being taken.....its a lot easier to be sneaky in a huge crowd of people! (hence why people get shit stolen out of their pockets in the middle of the dancefloor....when you look around at the hundreds of people, who do you blame?") meh...... such is life.

Posted by Scoops on Jun-23-2009 00:01:

I never really lost anything at a club but i did find $100 on the floor at Surf Club a few years ago....

...and i found a few JARs on the dance floor at tempts back in the day

Posted by glittergirl on Jun-23-2009 00:35:

so, the summary of all 13 pages of this review is exactly what I predicted:

1) victor rcoked, as always
2) pacha sucked, as always
3) this thread turned into a huge tiesto vs. armin vs. every other trance dj war, just like every trance review does lol

I got into nyc way too late- -- in fact, i was checking into my hotel exactly at 1:00, and I was upset that I missed victor's set but not upset that i missed an overpacked, overdrama'ed club with an over-ego'd overcheesed dj that I don't like. I had more fun hanging with my usual weekend crew at the hotel and it felt good just getting away from here for awhile.

the only part of the whole weekend that sucked was megabus. this is the first weekend in a long time i actually booked my bus ticket home (and at a reasonable hour!). i waited for the 5:30 bus for over and hour and it didn't come. by this time, people were also lined up for the 5:50 and the 6:00 bus. everyone was confused as to whether they were on megabus or eastern travel. at 6:30, i'm at the head of the line and it starts to POUR. i am the only person in ny without an umbrella b/c i didnt think i needed one. it was such a nice day! so after enduring that for about 30 seconds and then admitting defeat, i ran under shelter and of course that's when the bus came, so i had to get to the back of the line.

by the time i got to the front, i was 2 people away from getting on and theb bus driver said 'no more seat." there were about 40 of us overbooked for the 5:30, and we were told we'd have to wait. the guy in the megabus said "it's not my fucking problem" and all these people were yelling and shouting at him. he just yelled right back, cursing and threatening people. people were asking him what kind of customer service that was and he pointed to his megabus shirt and said "i dont even work for eastern travel (which is the same fucking company). the woman behind me SHOVED me out of the way with her child and got on the bus and wouldnt budge, demanding a seat and saying she wasn't getting off. oh, and some bitch got on in front of all of us and shoved money into the bus driver's hand right in front of me and everyone started going nuts. it was the most fucked up thing i have ever seen. they promised we would get on the next bus, and by this time there were hundreds of people in line. the next bus came almost a block away and noone bothered to tell us this was the bus we could take. they were loading everyone else on this bus so finally i just ran down the block and jumped into line and luckily i got on. i bet that woman and her kid that stood there yelling and refusing to get off the other bus for 15 minutes probably didn't get on.

i'm writing a letter.

anyways, sorry i missed your set vic but glad you got stop by for awhile -- sorry i was almost passed out by then. will see you and everyone in a few weeks!

I don't disagree.

From all the reviews, it just seems like it was "one of those nights."

Based on people's reviews...the wait staff seemed bitchy, the security seemed bitchy, even ATB seemed bitchy lol. Maybe it was the heat. Idk.

For the short time I was there though, the crowd seemed VERY into his set. Maybe he needs a bigger venue...?

Please dont take this the wrong way, but I dont agree with the it was just "one of those nights". Every night at Pacha is "one of those nights". Management in the end is responsible for employee training, service and defending the Pacha brand. Even though many people will say that management are cool people and some of you might know them personally or are good friends with them, in the end it comes down to how they manage/control their employees and the type of experience people have after paying the admission fee etc.. They are doing a poor job at both of these things, and according to another post, this has happened ever since it opened.

Just as an example, I havent seen one person thats in any way affiliated with Pacha give an explanation on these forums when people have bad experiences or follow up on events. I would be surprised if they responded to this thread at all after what people have written here, because Pacha Management or anyone affiliated with Pacha doesnt care about the customer. All they care about is promoting their events, asking us to sign up for their guestlists and how much money they make at the end of an event. Its a business at the end of the day and demand for Pacha doesnt seem to be dropping soon. Maybe its a different world in VIP, I just dont know, but from what people have said, its not that much different up there either.

I agree with you on the fact that the crowd was into ATB's and Victor's set. We just need to move them to another venue. I would rather pay a little bit more to see a DJ at another venue than make an exception and have to go through the Pacha Experience the owners/managers seem to be doing nothing about.

Edit: I have to agree with what Z has said so far.
