Just gave this a listen. I liked some of the more tech-trancy tunes but overall I must say that Techno just isn't my cup of tea.
Although I can imagine liking it better on a huge sound system when I'm drugged up to the eyeballs.

Yeah, it's not really for home listening. A bit too monotonous for that.

jan, well done. it got a bit messy with the transitions in the first half, but i know from experience that mixing some of this stuff is messy. trackselection was great, the contrast between the first half with it's upbeat and funkdriven material to the second half with it's more sombre and relaxed and driven by traditional jazz & hiphop flavours. love that squarepusher remix near the end, beautiful chaos. well done.

I wanted to showcase how this genre itself stretches towards a wide variety of genres, which ultimately involves switching between syncopations quite a bit. It really gets a lot trickier to beatmix and to get a proper flow going because of this, but at the same time, it also provides a welcome change from the norm.

i regret to inform you that my mix will not be done i have tried it atleast 10 times now, but im having problems with my decks, 1 of them keeps speeding up at random points..

i was going to continue recording regardless, but then had an almighty vocal clash, and that sealed the deal for me

i might see if i have time to download some mp3's and do it using traktor, but only if i have time.. sorry guys

I am trying to cue this set, but Traktor seems to be beatgridding my tracks very strangely. I will cue and spin tomorrow, I just kinda got stuck in a few points tonight. Don't fear, I WILL complete this set.

See, I told you guys I would finish it! There were several pain-in-the-ass tracks, ones that weren't beatgrid friendly whatsoever. In particular, those tracks were Tenshi and 1998, where the beatgrid kept getting out of sync, so I found myself having to adjust the beatgrid manually during transitions. I wish I had 3 arms

Anyways, sorry for playing songs that have been beat to death for 10 years, but these are all my favorites. I mixed them harmonically. Enjoy!

Yeah, I don't really see 98-00 as "oldschool" either, especially knowing that trance originated in 91-92. But either way, it's my fault for not pointing that out in this thread to begin with.
