LOL US has a ton of large cities, why would you pick Boston or Pittsburg, of all places, to compare? random!

Blackhawks were almost left for dead by its fans for awhile, though Wirtz had much to do with that. Chi House, ftw though

Lol at mtl being a sports town.. The habs have been somewhat competitive since the lockout, seems like since then the year off has made everyone and their mom a habs fan.. Anyone remember before the lock out? A lot of empty seats.. We drove the expos out of town, and the impact attendance at one point was so low the govt had to bail then out.. The Als have been the best of an 8 team league since I can remember. Were fans when our teams win. Not the case like Toronto, Philly, or Boston.

And yeah mtl, for our population has a huge music scene.. I dunno if all you guys listen to is trance/house, but the jazzfest is prolly the second biggest in north America after new Orleans, then all the other festivals romchik has mentioned..

We are a music city.

great teams for sure but another measuring stick for great sports towns is when the teams don't do so well and the fans still come out.

Not to hijack the thread, maybe BeB fans are great fans too, cause the product is crap and it's still always sold out

Both TO and Mtl get the big name headliners but Mtl seems to do well with going after names that are big outside North America, plus events like Piknic and Igloo cater to that type of booking from what I can see.

PS, King Louis and co and Stereo are doing all right too

bingo, .. but this isnt the center of musical universe in north america lol .. as well as those fest's are supported due to the fact that mtls arts scene isnt comparable to many others

helps that Guv is massive, always full and is a nightclub that sells booze too, that's a big reason why they get who they get there. Montreal needs more asians
