As many others have said, they are the promoters and it is their job to make sure things go well. Yeah, maybe the venue has something to do with it, but I think Liquified needs to step up and make sure things like this won't happen. Like it was said, you have to take the good with the bad. Don't take the praise and then turn your head when something goes wrong. On the other hand, bad things always seem to happen at Tiesto shows. I won't go knowing that things won't go well. He attracts the worst people and somehow his events always turn into disasters. Two years ago was a disaster and for it to get worse shows a lack of something with the promoters. You had two years to fix the problems and they get worse? doesn't make much sense. Tiesto is a joke and honestly, I don't understand why people still line up to go through all this. |

Tiesto's been wrecking his train in Atlanta the last few years.
Why he keeps coming back in it, I'll never understand.
2006 had the sound go out 3x.
2007 had the unenthusiastic, 2.5 hour set that cost $50.
2008 had the shitacular track list packed into the sardine can that is Opera in the middle of the summer.
2009 had the unenthusiastic, 3.5 hour set, that cost $50 plus $20 in parking plus $20 in bribes. Oh, and in case you didn't hear, the police showed up and ruined around 750 ppl's night.
Weird thing is, I've seen him in Miami each of those years as well. His sets were fantastic down there. He hasn't had a good set in Atlanta since 2004 as far as I'm concerned. Dunno why people around here go ape shit for him. I guess they just see at as a good night to pop some pills and go whacky? Fair enough. Can't go wrong with EDM and pills, even if it is the conductor of Atlanta train wrecks, Tiesto.
Dallas, you're a total douchebag. I'm guessing your moogwai37 at Lunar, correct? You're acting like this entire thing was singling you out. Stop being a douche, get your head out of your ass and stfu.
In the meantime, this all sounds pretty loltastic. You guys can hate on Liquified and refuse to go to shows all you want, I prefer going to clubs with less douchebags on the floor. :P
They're lives, forever shattered. They spend hours picking up the pieces, using the sharpest ones to break the barrier of skin allowing their soul to seep out, coursing onto the floorboards.
Lulz
YEAH
BOYCOTT LIQUIFIED.

I seriously hope that it isn't like that here in Denver. I heard last year it was a shit show and Beta oversold I guess. Looks Like Ill be camping out there the day of to ensure a spot inside. Sorry to see that it was a train wreck for you guys. Tiesto is a nice guy. Being in an enviroment where he get tips on crowd control from his management staff also plays on how high his guard is up. He has a lot of his plate being a mainstream DJ. Traveling EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, on top of working with various other artists in the business to cut new tracks, and also not to mention his ambassidorship for DANCE 4 LIFE. He's tired I'm sure being the celebrity he is.

keep em' comin. I'll photoshop his head onto anything.

Liquified, Opera and NATC would like to offer their sincere apologies to everyone that was inconvenienced, especially to the few people that had bought tickets and could not get into the Tiesto event last Saturday.
The main reason for the problem was that we could not open the doors at 9PM due to the fact that the massive frames and towers brought in for production needed to be properly secured, and were not at this time, which was a huge safety issue, so we could not open doors until these towers were completely secured.
The production company was brought in from Orlando to do the show as there was not a company that could meet the huge production needs locally. Upon arrival to the venue at 6AM, the production company had to deal with unforeseen obstacles inside the venue, that were effecting the construction of the massive frame trusses, hence the delay. Tisto, Tisto's production team and management were not to blame for any of the issues that occurred.
Liquified have a 15 year history organizing events, and have done 6 events at this venue in the past and never had any issues. At an event of this size there will always be a long wait in in long line. Once production was secured, we opened the doors at 10:30PM and by 12:30 we had processed over 4000 people who were inside to experience a truly amazing show. The crowd of ticket and non ticket holders who were outside after 12:30, were getting very frustrated at the long wait, and unfortunately one of them threw a bottle at the window, which caused panic and commotion among the crowd, and the on duty police officers were very concerned and called the riot police. Upon arrival the riot police proceeded to clear the crowd outside, because of public safety issues.
After spending a good deal of time working with the Lead officer on duty we were able to convince him to allow people to enter the
building. We were even granted permission to stay open an hour later in order for Tiesto to play an extended 4 hour set.
If you had purchased tickets and were not allowed to enter please contact the ticketing company from whom you purchased your ticket from and they will be handling refunds in a case by case basis. Again we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to anyone and once you contact the ticket company and you have received your refund the ticket company will be contacting you with a chance to see another show for free.
Thanks
Devin

I'm curious, though.
Having done SIX EVENTS at this same venue before, you've obviously used a production company other times, correct?
Was the one brought in this time around someone totally new?
And to say that there isn't a local company that can handle a production of 4000-5000 people....mmmmmmkay. Have to call "shenanigans" there...
Anyhow, thanks for the update, I think?
