Have seen Matthew Dear twice, dont think i would bother a 3rd time, not great.
Great producer tho, recently been listening to his remix of Blackstrobe from a couple of years back - heavy.

As for fav producer of 2009, nobody has really stood out for me

i think a big consideration for how good matthew dear is has to do with whether or not he's playing as audion. i hear that his shows as audion are much better than his shows as matthew dear

I saw him as Audion. I cannot imagine how boring he is 'as himself' if Audion is the better of the two acts.

I've seen him as both. I'd say he was better as himself probably because I don't enjoy a lot of audion tracks. Domesticated that night you're referring to in Melbourne I thought Oxia was fairly standard, I didn't see any of Audion that night though.

I agree, Oxia was neither amazing nor awful. He played a no fuss, standard techno set with some nice tracks. He was better than Dear though.

I've seen him perform live as Audion twice in the last 6 months, once on Awakenings Festival and the other time in a dark club in Barcelona. Both times he tore the place apart (imo).

was tryin to figure out what the problem here and then i realized factually it was that your up your own ass.

audion live, when hyped to play, is goddamn tough to beat, for anyone...including richie, luciano, loco dice, etc...

more importantly, he is responsible for some of the best dance music since 2000. this is not a debate jerry. if you don't covet the ability to make dog days then your neccesity for self-pleasure is the least of your worries.

I don't mean to be a dick, but I think that song is absolutely terrible.

Really?

That's an interesting choice. I didn't realise he'd been putting out much stuff of late. I will have to check it out.

Hard Islands was the only thing he put out in all of 2009.

Why do people still like his productions? I got tired of them after about a week and that was back when he made Cowboys and Psika. I still play some of the older stuff, but I found out quick that he was rehashing the same shit and producing too much for his own good.

Bring back Duoteque.

Dunno about that, but the track playing is absolutely awful.

Posted by woscar on Oct-30-2009 01:33:

I'm not a big fan of it either, I posted it because Demoted mentioned Duoteque
