^^ lol.

I went to zone! I was coming back from lunch at terroni and was on the college streetcar when musicsnob pestered me to go. Well it was fun, I danced my tush off to Paco for a few hours, dead sober which made the madness all the more hilarious. That said, zone has cleaned up its act from the last time I was there a few years ago, and aside from the fact that it was mid-Sunday afternoon, it really felt no different than any other nightclub I guess. I was very surprised. Obviously there was a lot of sketch but it was of the humorous variety, and not of the creepy variety.

Paco had a lot of technical difficulties at first but they seem to be resolved after about a half hour or so. Second half of the set got a bit funky, he even played an old x press 2 track <3

" wow.. so many people came out to celebrate my birthday ^5^5^5^5^5"
" .... is he playing the ghostbusters theme? ^5^5^5^5"
" " its to bad they have the patio blocked from the sides. id love to just come and watch the sketch show"

I <3 zone. NEVER a bad time there!
Dekoze was ok, there were chunks of his 4 hour set that were amazing and had me going insane. It however didn't really have much flow to it. But nonetheless it was insane for him, the vibe was through the roof at times! Mark Oliver wins a medal. AMAZING set by him, nice and tribally!
Paco is the shit. Such a talented dj. Kind of a shame there was skipping happening in the start of his set, but easily ignored! Everyone was going bananas for this guy, and well deserved. I really REALLY enjoyed his set, so delicious. I'm so satisfied with being able to see him for the first time at CZ.
Another great day of zone happenings and adventures!

3 hrs ago lol.

edit: review time now that im at work lol. got there 730ish to a lineup past waverly, which is a good indicator that inside is off the walls. place was pretty darn full and sweattyy, vibe like new years (everyone there to party). deko-ze was pretty good. when he dropped the billie jean remix, the room went off. MO started off not quite to my liking but suddenly turned things around and as veronica said, tribal! fully enjoyed his set. val/vince, good stuff setting up paco. looks like you were enjoying yourselves as for paco, he def was playing well but the technical difficulties (perhaps the decks?) put a damper on fully enjoying things. the crowd def picked up on the numerous choo choo trains. left at 430 so i cant comment on how he played afterwards.

nice seeing some friendly faces, tons of TA's there

such a random trip!
liz and i drove up from Buffalo yesterday afternoon and arrived at zone a little after 3. I hate when i first arrive bahha.. the constant hugs, OMGS and blahblahblahs is a bit much .. especially when your eyes haven't adjusted. Sorry if anyone thought I was rude but I was there for Paco and to dance - not to chitchat

Paco's set wasn't the best, but I loved it. I had a ton of fun and it was great seeing/meeting a ton of fun. Thhe sketch level didnt seem too outta control, which surprised me. The vibe in there was fantastic for Paco but it thinned out a lot after his set. I left a little after 7 and failed to return for YM ..lame,i know. Sorry I didn't say bye, like I said I'm not into the hugging/convo part of zone hahah. See you all after SiS!

Love is in the air

wowwwwwww
i finally popped my CZ cherry and it didn't hurt one bit
im 100% pleased with my experience and so happy I had good friends there to party with. I've never seen a club with a vibe like that... im not even sure how to explain it but it was just crazy! Definitely a party i wont ever forget. loved the music, loved the vibe and the total insanity. I have to say my first hour inside at 9am, i was a un confortable and did not like it very much at all. it was maybe a bit shocking for me, really packed and too dark, sketch level was a little more than im used to. maybe the scary costumes didnt help haha. I was also totally nervous first walking into the door, cause i had no idea what to expect. i wanted to leave but i stuck it out. A couple hours went by, the front of the dance floor cleared out a bit, i moved around, my eyes adjusted to the darkness lol, and i stopped really noticing or caring about the random total sketch balls that came around every now and then. Gradually things just worked out and everything fell into place! next time however i'll avoid that back patio, it was not a happy place for me haha. spent 80% of my time in front, by the booth. By the end of pacos set i was totally warn out, and my body was frail and weak from what felt like sweating off like 10 pounds . (sorry for all of you who had to witness me in such an ugly sweaty state LOL) and i really wish i had listened to my wise elders and brought a change of clothes, cause at the end of my 9 hours in there, i think i was one of the only 5 people still in my halloween costume haha.
anywaysssss the bottom line is i loved it, (which i know made some people very happy haha) and i can't wait for the next big party there!

finding your own area/spot is the key to zone, and it sounds like once you found that the rest fell into place...

hahaha priceless.

I had sooooo much fun in there. I was the same way at the beginning, didn't really feel too comfortable, but that righted itself fairly quickly and I really enjoyed myself. Deko-ze was fun, MO impressed me I enjoyed his set very much. Junkies were ok.

sucked about paco's skipping at the beginning he didn't look too happy sbout it at all. I found the first hour and a half of his set kinda dull but he picked up the energy for the second half. By 6 it was definitely time to leave, which I did, totally satisfied.

Jill, Jason, Geoff, Tara, Jen, Heather, and Shawna, You guys are awesome such good times

Glad you had proper cz experience !! I remember asking you if you had a deep dark feeling that is kinda scary feeling but takes your about an hour or two to get used to it.

ahh forget it.. I still wanna hug u

pretty solid morning as expected. had to wait in line for the first time in forever which was quite exciting actually cuz it was probably rammed in there.

lots of old faces that I haven't seen in a long time including an old friend...

Music wise:

I am slightly biased here but Deko-ze in my eyes can do no wrong. Yea he was slightly all over with his track selection but that was only for parts of his set. Mostly he was crazy good. Totally made up for with his energy. My favourite is when he decides that a certain buildup is gonna blow the roof off and he takes his headphones off to dance. Doesn't just take em off, he does it with a ridiculous attitude. Priceless to catch.

Mark i have now seen 3 times at zone in the last little bit. Excellent everytime. I didn't spend as much time on the dancefloor after 11:30 or so just cuz i was simply exhausted after a long weekend of work.

Got a couple of hours rest in the car and caught a little bit of Paco. the problems at the beginning probably were the reason we left before he finished. He was fine otherwise. Very good actually, but was too tired to really dance and never really got my vibe going again. Wish he had played earlier

Good friggen times though
