At least if you're gonna define something, do it right. you being here since 2004, does not automatically make you know-it-all, sorry to burst ur bubble |

Armin is not good trance.. you should really listen to good trance. Armin might play songs that are good for trance lovers, but he doesnt really make good music. |

too much fire going on in this thread :P
A LOT OF PEOPLE are overlooking the fact that it's really hard to produce music. Maybe they should try and see for themselves. If u're sick of the music then go do something to help it, or stay quiet and dont do anything at all. Your gibbering BS isn't gonna help anyone except annoy the hell out of them.

| Originally posted by R!CH i never said i hate trance, i never said i don't like trance. i do think 99% of the trance today (and the last several years) is fucking garbage. at one point in time trance was cutting edge music, but that time came and went and never came back. to some extent that can be attributed to the fact that everyone who discovers trance falls in love with their era of discovery because of its overall newness, but to a greater extent trance today is simply way too simplistic and formulaic compared to the releases of 1999-2005. |

| Originally posted by alpha.wav you are really a dumbass and I fell sorry you carry the SFTA flag on your sig. sorry not for you, sorry for SF since your dirty comments tarnish that cities reputation for coolness. you are definitely an @sshole buddy. I hope I don't run into you, and if I do, I ain't buying you a drink! u can go fuck yourself on that one. I'd like to let you know that I originally signed on TA a while before you did, so ur noob comments mean nothing to me. And talking down to other users in this forum does nothing for you, but make you look like an EVEN BIGGER @sshole. there is nothing that you will do to lessen my opinion that you and Dave T (among others) are the thorn in TA's West Forums ass, throwing around your opinions as if they were worth their weight in gold, but can sometimes come off as crass and arrogant, and thus worthless... I think when YOU get a clue buddy on how to be a nicer person overall, then maybe your opinions may be worth a little more. but before this turns even more into a rant, let me just say that if u don't like trance, thats fine, just don't troll around here like others do, complaining about everything that is trance. those comments got old a long time ago. maybe you don't like it because YOU fell OUT OF LOVE w/ trance, but a lot of people haven't, and you are wrong: Trance still is, and will always be "cutting edge" music : just because you don't feel it is doesn't mean YOU ARE RIGHT. So you can get down from your high cloud. That is just they way you look at the genre. and thats ALL IT IS. Peace out, - alphawav. |

to the people that now dislikes trance.
here are somes suggestions that i think may help solve ur problems:
1. Leave tranceaddict
2. Leave tranceaddict
3. Leave tranceaddict
4. Produce trance music
5. Produce trance music
6. Produce trance music
quite a few ideas to choose from

There is a reason why Armin has been number 1 for three straight years, and it isn't because he sucks. If you don't like his music, that's fine... but he had a hell of a lot of talent.
We all have different tastes... let's leave it at that. These "Trance sux" no "Trance rocks" posts are getting a bit old. If you don't/do like trance over the last few years give specific examples of why you feel that way.

And R!CH, if you read this, i recommend this song to u Markus Schulz - The New World very good song. |

LOL at letting what Rich says get to you at the very least. It's just how he is on here. Just like I'm a jackass. Or how you'd think Sean Tyas is some amazing DJ by listening to some peeps on here.
Don't believe what you read on TA and don't get an idea of how the person actually is on here. In 80% of cases, peeps are very different in real life. Like, for example, DJ Blurr is actually a man. I mean, for real!

Trance DJs see the DJMag poll as important, even though they themselves know it's largely a farse because it becomes a big "marketing campaign" competition to get people to vote for them. Don't believe me? Get to know those DJs and ask them.
House DJs get into the marketing a little...if at all, but trance DJs go overboard, even ones down the list -- they put splash pages on their websites, send out lots of emails, message you on myspace and facebook, etc. It prob wasn't as bad this year as past years. but in some cases the marketing has been flat out annoying.
DJs or their peeps (as some DJs had no knowledge) have been caught cheating in the past (C Lawrence, DJ Dan, Flash Brothers, etc), and I have no doubts a lot still do it on a smaller scale not to get caught.
A lot of these DJs are in their slots because of some period they had of amazing Stuff. Tiesto 1999-2002 (est), Armin 2001-2006, PvD, late 90s early 2000s. Notice a trend? All these DJs had their best stuff before ever hitting #1 in the poll.
Now looking at each of those DJs and at the years they were on top......if those were the years they were starting out their attempt to "rise" as a DJ, do you think they would have gone anywhere near the top? Nope. They wouldn't be. These DJ's positions raise up the ranks due to the more hardcore EDM fans.
It's from that popularity, in 95% of cases, that gets them the recognition of the more mass market. At that point, pure quality isn't as important because of how society works. They are ranked up there, they must be popular, therefore they must be at their best right now....and then they get those fans which in turn vote for them and that's what pushes them even higher.
The issue is that it's often around this time in a DJs career where this popularity starts influencing them. Suddenly, more friendly vocal tracks. Suddenly, more tracks for the radio. Suddenly, hear shit like hip-hop collaborations. Suddenly, the EDGE in their productions and sets are often muddled with more commercial-friend shit.
And it's all like clockwork.
And now look at the top house DJ. David Guetta. What's a big thing about his tracks? A lot of tracks that can hit the radio.
Deadmau5 is an oddball here, but he has the under 21 crowd locked down. Whoever was in charge of his marketing and all that is a genius.
You are starting to see a lot of the newer trance DJs shoot upt he charts. But they aren't going to get much further...unless they commercialize...cause all those top DJs are or will surely be doing so if they don't want to fall down the ranks.....
It's a shame.
