When we met PVD was about to come on and after the show i was seriously on the verge of passing out from overheating, i had to get outside. But it was nice meeting you and rubyriva and her sister. Thanx for posting the pix, love PVD in the background of our pic.

PVD added his signature on my shirt along with Oakie, D:Fuze and Hybrid that were already on it

sup ckytep!
no worries. i understand..you had to save your 'spot' right? You know after the show your gf took a pic of us with your signed shirt? it never came out! i don't think she pushed the camera button or something...next time!

Hey Chicagoland PvD fans -

I just realized that everyone was talking about the "arrogant" person who requested Diving. And believe it or not, it was me! HA!!!

No hard feelings, I think these things are funny!

Can't wait to see you all at the next shows, especially rubyriva ;-)

Keep it alive!

i have no problem w/ it. Diving is a quality track, and Paul has been known to play it as of late, so I figured it would be coming regardless. I have problems w/ people who ask for crap like Rapture, etc...

Funny thing is though... he had already played it by the time you asked him to.

Hell, if I had brought my phone into the venue w/ me, I probably would have requested something. but then again, i might not have. you never know.

Hey everyone,

Just keeping the thread alive

Anyway, just wanted to say that he had an incredible set. Probably the best vibe i've felt in the three shows i've seen him play in Chicago (Riviera, House of Blues, Crobar).

Too bad I couldn't meet any of you TA's -

Maybe we should have an official meetup next time he comes in town (or Sasha or Scott Bond next month).

Of course, it would help if we had our OWN forum (HINT HINT)

Glad everyone had a great time...

Invisible Grin Finally figured out what that damn last track was

Just borrowed my friend's Fischerspooner CD and sure enough...

...PvD's last toon was Fischerspooner's "The 15th", track 2 on their album, which just got rereleased with three bonus tracks.

BTW Riv has a capacity of 2300, not 1300!

wow! i had no idea it was that big ... it sure doesn't seem that way although i guess the balcony adds a significant amount of room. either way it's better than the cavernous Aragon ...

Smirnoff was $14.95 for a 750. Good price for a poor college student. I love Grey Goose however I didn't have the money nor time to enjoy it. I just needed swill to get drunk on before I arrived.

What's up midwest!!
Well it's tuesday and im finally recovering from pvd. I'm still alittle deaf but its all good. Great show, except before we even got into the riveria, me and my friend got held up by some undercover cops and frisked to see if we had any "dope" hehe. Luckily no, but put a downer on me for alittle bit. Anyway, i went nuts when i heard massive, Moonshine (Exor Part II), First Second, and Dreamland. Those made my night. Hope pvd comes back next summer!!

I think i met a few TA's there, im pretty sure i met blake613. I was that sweaty guy wearing the vest, with a whole lot of energy hehe

peace

Posted by Blake613 on Jul-30-2002 23:12:

Yeah you met me. I wanted to strike up a conversation but it was so dang loud in there. I could barely hear myself yelling in my friend's ears. I was nice to everyone; offering water, cigs, and other smokables.

Posted by cypress on Jul-31-2002 03:12:

Sasha in Chicago @ Vision

now that pvd has come and gone, is anyone thinking about seeing Sasha's "record release event" @ vision on august 20? it's a tuesday, but what else are you going to do on a tuesday? ... and it's only $15!

Posted by phyrest0rm on Jul-31-2002 06:01:

omg... i'll pay her to rip it. i need to get the complete tracklisting to this event. if i have the set, that can happen very quickly.

yea i'd pay for the rip also. I posted a thread asking pure to release it to the forum there

Posted by arturob on Jul-31-2002 07:03:

hmm. I hope you will share that with me hrhr...

Posted by sti3 on Jul-31-2002 12:34:

Hmm I think if you're trying to get Pure to give us something for free you're dreamin'. They are all about the cash, which sometimes happens to be good for music lovers like us and other times is just annoying.

BTW I realized where I first heard "the 15th". A very unlikely source! This is actually a good CD though if you like a bit of that electroclash sound mixed in with some cheese

Check out this mix CD

I wonder if PvD knew this guy put it on a mix CD back in December he would stop playing it.

Is Sasha any good live? Maybe I'll go, but I think I gotta go away to school that week.

Posted by cypress on Jul-31-2002 16:40:

i missed him last time he was in chicago ($65!) but i've always enjoyed his GU CDs ... although those really can't be considered "live"
