No, this thread is a prime example of why you are gay.

Yeah, I'll leave you social rejects to bicker about nonsense in a thread that was originally something completely different.

Rock the fuck on.

Bickering about nonsense is something you should be familiar with.

Example: nobody gives a fuck that you dont like coming here. In fact, wed rather that you leave cause all you do is whine about the gayest shit possible and you STILL keep coming back. Either stay and stop crying, or leave and bitch all you want. But coming here to bitch nonsense about this place, when NOONE IS FORCING YOU TO STAY, really makes you look like you have a vagina.

That when you get off topic for 5 seconds, and talk about something other than the same boring, useless bullshit we talk about everyday there will always be at least 1 dickless pansy who needs to be told that he has no penis. In this case there was 2.

I've been working harder @ a cleaner sound myself... few instruments, little less reverb, and less (if any) layering of leads. I always have 2 basslines, but that's common enough.

Lot of uplifting/ epic trance producers nowadays are layering so much you can't pick any one really catchy melody to focus on, and that makes listening really hard.

Also with the NEWEST stuff I'm making now, trying to be a little more subtle with sidechain compression, so the bassline is a bit warmer.

Am playing around with simpler kicks, too. Seein' how epic trance made with psytrance kicks sound. :P

Just for the hell of it.

Been working on a bassline the last week, trying to use just one sound and keep it clean. It's still lacking some drive so am maybe going to add a stabb to accompany one or two bass notes. Finding it very hard to get the drive with a more minimal sound.

I would post a snippet but it seems people get upset when I do this as I must be some sort of sonic whore!!

show me a peer reviewed medical journal that shows otherwise. Why is alcohol the only drug that destroys your liver , the mechanism for cleaning your body of toxins. I am clearly not joking. It is the worst for your body, it is the worst drug by far when you look at all the damage it does in society. These are facts. Not my opinion. And I was clearly talking about per dosage.WOW Gold and Buy WOW Gold All other things being equal, alcohol is the worst mainstream drug on the planet. Tastes damn fine tho. You don't have to take my word. Go google each of the chemicals names, and look at how they interact with your body.Alcohol is the only one that is a straight up poison. I don't see why it is that hard to understand, I'm not advocating taking anything, I just think most people like yourselves have absolutely no idea how drugs work and how they interact with your body. In fact Alcohol is the only drug that has no medical use. Heroin, methamphetamine and even cocaine are available in pharmaceutical versions. I suppose they do use pure ethanol in medical wipes but that is clearly not meant to be inside your body.

They don't have millers where I live.

It's a pretty obvious thing, but I never even really thought about it until recently, but have you tried playing with the velocities of individual bass notes in addition to applying mild compression?
I just did that in a tune that has a psy-like driving bassline, made bass notes immediately following the kick quieter, and made following notes louder, according to whatever deranged pattern I decide (generally make the 16th notes velocities curve in an ascending wave).

Made the velocities for both layers of bassline do the same thing, then rendered the track out, and ran the full thing through my personal mastering project file (in FL). The bass is wonderfully pumpy & thick, and has plenty of punch.

also fiddling with the Attack and Decay and Release on the main envelope can help make the bass snappier too. Adding a touch of delay, somewhere around 1/2 with most of the really bassy frequencies filtered out of the delay (to avoid phasing) really helps add drive and energy to a bassline.

You've probably already monkeyed around with these, but I thought I'd post it just in case, and also for the edification of any new producers browsing through here. :P

From my perspective, when I create a new track, usually is base on some sound/melody/idea in my head ---> start to laying out BPM, bass with kick, adding drums and base synth with this "imaginary" sound from my head. Second step is to bring some Lead and arps to support this basic melo, add some FX to spice up nicely this atmo/groove, run this track 100 times to see where I have some holes (in terms of attractiveness to listener) and adding more lead sound to emphasize this liseter experience. After 100's of runs (when I'm satisfy), I start to work with EQ to see if I have enough clearance or some sound fighting between (I need to have clear sound of every instrument in my track so I can trace it's behavior/frequency).

So this is my usual method/path to get something (in my opinion) good or attractive created.

Cheers.
