Are they purebred Corgis? I'd try to stay away from that if possible. Those tend to develop more health problems than non-purebreds.
My parents had two Kerry Blue Terriers, both purebred, that were both $1,000+, and both of them developed cancer and had to be put to sleep. Also, a lot of times if you search online for the breed that you want, you can find shelters where they only cary that specific type of dog, so you'd still get the moral satisfaction of getting a rescued dog
I got my dog at the local humane society, and it actually is a nice feeling knowing that you're basically giving the dog a second chance instead of getting them directly from a pet store or breeder.
she's getting older now and you can see her ghost face coming in.. she loves both my kids so much, she's always following them around.

| Originally posted by ziptnf I will take good care of it and get it checked bi-annually. I highly doubt all purebred corgis get cancer and die quickly, although I am aware it is a problem. I want to raise the dog from being a puppy to its old age. As much as I would like to help out a disadvantaged dog, I have already done that, and it was a wonderful experience, but I want to have the dog for a long time. |

That's interesting, but I have a feeling that there wouldn't be any corgi puppies there due to the sheer amount of breeders that have nearly all their puppies sold before they are even born. I'm sure I would consider it later down the line.

It's not just the breed, but the method of preparation.

Only get to see him every few months these days, and I miss him a lot.

Apparently so. Didn't see it myself - that was taken in my parent's village this December just gone. I think it was a record snowfall.
He's always loved the snow, though. I've never seen him shiver or show any signs of the cold. You can tell how much he's enjoying it in that photo.

Sent in my deposit for a corgi puppy today. I'm hoping for a female tri-color. I will be visiting the breeding site to see the parents, ask some important questions about the health history of the parents, and make sure that the breeding grounds are suitable.
