I can't for the life of me getting into the new Drake album, so boring! and I love his other stuff

Couple decent tracks on it for sure, but your right, as a whole its certainly lacking. I think this problem is he set the bar so high with his mixtapes....

Sidenote: I also dont see what all this hype for The Weeknd is about...

this tune is off a mixtape. Im not a lloyd banks fan, but i love this beat and this tune

Funny thing, is they only have one album together from 1998! So I think we will get lots of their solo stuff, with each of them jumping in.

Haven't listened to a single track yet but I've heard it's damn near terrible.

because all he ever raps about is saving fuckin girls. like how many girls can this mother****** save??? and all I see is insecure women posting his lyrics all over my fuckin bb, facebook and twitter. It's like once a month they just flash that motherfuckin vagina spotlight up on the clouds and wait for drizzy to slide down a rainbow with a cape on his back and a tote bag full of sweaters he just finished crocheting to come save their asses.

Honestly this was the softest hip hop album I have ever heard. Im pretty sure that drake gets up in the morning and plays his harp for his cats, slides down the muthafuckin banister in his satin man nightie and has a full glass of breast milk before he goes to the studio to hammer out some pooned out shit like this.

to be fair, he's always been more on the r&b slowjamz tip... the "So Far Gone" mixtape (which is my fav) is actually much "softer"

but the tracks on "Take Care" are drawn out and the hooks are shit... like so boring

the best part of the whole cd is the Kendrick Lamar verse on the new 8min version of Marvin's Room

My friend's new track. These guys are coming up with some of the freshest hip hop I've heard in this town. Three young guys with plenty of potential. Good vibes all around.

sounds way too oldschool. not that thats a bad thing but it sounds like a 1996 demo tape...That's a little too underground for my liking these days. In 1996 i probably would have dug it though

Which is a shame because hard hitting Drake is pretty damn good. Well, as good as hip hop can get anyways.

So I've heard. I can't name more than 2 or 3 songs by Drake. For someone who knows very little about his sound, which mixtape(s) would you recommend in order to make the best impression on a new listener? The rest of you (e.g. JJ) can feel free weigh in too.

The best tune on drake's new album is we'll be fine. mainly cause the bass in the beat is so dirty. Birdman almost scared me, i thought he was about to rap

So Far Gone & Room for Improvement are the standouts for me. So Far Gone ended up being released as an EP and is the first time he really started working with Wayne and Young Money, and Room For Improvement is his first mixtape, really raw and before the hype.

So last night Vivid, Orko & me hit up the BlackStar (Talib Kweli & MosDef) concert. Fantastic to see that REAL Hip Hop is alive & kicking in the Tdot. Koolhaus was rammed & such a good vibe all around. Many real heads were out taking in the show, especially since these 2 haven't performed together as BlackStar in over a decade. All the classics were done. Concert was def. off the chain.
