I like the new format quite a bit now that I'm used to it. In fact, I've found much more music this way (especially newly released items). it would be nice if the BPM was listed on the player at the top (instead of having to click on the track and find it there). but overall, very nice. now that it's not limited to just one screen (not much scrolling), I feel like there's just more to the site in general.

+1

Any word on when this'll be out of beta and possibly replace the old site?

Are you guys making sure to vote on changes/features you'd like to see?

New Change to Beaport?

I purchased a new release on beatport today (Nu - We Love the Sun on Bar25) and I was going through my usual routine of writing the record label in itunes' "grouping" category when I found that, yowza, it was already plugged in. Is beatport doing this now? If so - fuck yeah!!!

As long as they stay the most expensive side, I won't buy anything from even their design would be top notch. 2.17 for a single track is way too much. You get a 4-track-ep cheaper on vinyl than digital, that must be a joke. Only problem is that some good labels are beatport exclusive. Digital world would look better without beatport.

Zero ", Boomkat and Juno are good sides where I regularly buy stuff.

Site's gone live for me. Have the option of old or new. Not sure what to make of new design...

It took me a few days to get used to it; but I enjoy it much more than the old one.

There just seems to be more to it now.

I still prefer the old one, personally. I mean I'm not confused by the new one, but it seems less organized to me and overall I find it just easier to navigate in the old one.

anyway, fyi, Beatport's got a 20% off coupon until the 21st. The code is EVOLVED.

Anyone finding it's ridiculously slow at loading the samples now?

Yeah, it's been incredibly slow recently. Perhaps it's due to the new version being accessible to everyone, resulting in reduced bandwidth or something?

Posted by anuga on Jul-16-2011 15:12:

Yea, the extra load on the site has effected the samples for sure.

It will calm down once everyone has listed thou

Top Notch Beatport! HTML5 FTW!

This. Web 2.0 websites generally feel way too cluttered and messy to me. I'm happy that Beatport is kind enough to offer an alternative, and I'll be using the old Flash version until they stop giving me the option.

Yes, was gonna ask the same thing!

i like basically everything about the new site other than the dj "feedback" and "testamonials" i'm seeing underneath some releases. However, I don't have a problem with them on the site, if beatport thinks that putting some lame endorsement will help it sell, good for them

Yep, pretty much unusable.

Posted by tubularbills on Jul-17-2011 17:45:

pro tip: if you're using firefox you can open up the sample in a new tab by right clicking on it, open in new tab. (right click on the little play button in the tracklisting)

makes the sample come up much faster.

i'm using firefox and win7
