i personaly think that he does suck, and so does his movie (no history) but, that's only personal, i can totally understand the people who like him.....
but if he thinks techno sucks, well fuck him...

there's non commerical hip hop to listen to, like Hieroglyphics, J5, Blackalicious, Talib Kweli, etc etc. They may be turning commerical, but definitely nto as much as Eminem.
as for nas, he's a sellout. He was good but now it's about the money with Murder.
Eminem is a good free styler. Props to that. But he's definitely not one of the best. As for the attention he gets from the media, it's for two reasons: 1) he's WHITE, and 2) spouting hate/life in his lyrics.

Nas is Better off alone. What do you mean he was good? HE IS STiLL THAT GOOD! but im not so sure about his future stuff coz of the murder influent
Eminem has payed his dues. Going into a predominantly black music genre and being able to take down and earn respect from the best of them in the underground hip-hop scene is miraculous. To many avid listeners, making it big in the underground scene gets far greater respect than succeeding in the commercial arena. He's definitely not a "fixed package" by any means. He worked his way from the ground up into what he is now. Some people take his lyrics too personally. It's all entertainment. Music is to entertain.
As far as the commercial rap subject goes, all commercial rap sucks balls...anybody that knows hip-hop knows that these bling-bling commercial rappers of today are all in it for the money. That's not what true hip-hop is all about. Stop listening to the radio and turn off MTV. It all lies in the underground.
Now is Eminem considered commercial? Yes. But the flipside of it is that he holds his own in the lyrics department (not that he doesn't already, but he's been so much better in the past). You can look at his pre-commercial days and write that up as an integral part of his "resume." I can't think of any rapper alive that has worked their way up to the level of success the way Eminem has. The last good reputable rapper to hit the commercial scene close to Eminem's level was Notorious BIG. Anyone who says otherwise definitely does not know their hip-hop.
Much like trance, you can only listen to the best hip-hop if you look for it. Listen to the radio and you will get crap like Nelly and Cash Money Millionaires.
That's bullshit if you ask me. Hip-hop gets the same rep that trance does...look at DJ Sammy. Is that what good trance really is? Cheese? It's not, but because of its exposure, that's what people perceive trance as; a cheesy catchy "techno" tune with female vocals. For some people, listening to lyrics, let alone learning to hear the genius of a good lyricist, is difficult, much like listening to a trance song with repetitive beats and no singing. With any type of music, you learn to like it.

Let me tell you this...during an underground freestyle session I heard between BIG and Pac (I think it's available on the 'net), you can clearly tell who was more versatile between the two. Biggie completely annihilated Pac on everything. Personally, I never liked 2pac's lyrical content or style compared to Big's. I just thought the majority of his rhymes were too blunt. They were both great in their own respects, nonetheless.
Hehe...talking about hip-hop in a trance forum.

this isnt the first hiphop related thread. in this forum
its the first hip hop thread to last this long in this forum...
most get removed or moved...
as for pac vs. biggie...
well regardless of what anyone has heard over freestyles...
BIG has always been of the type that rhymes from memory, which helps in freestyle...pac was of the type that wrote everything down...
its up to the individual to decide whether general battle rap is better than poetry...
my personal opinion is that you cant compare the two...
they both have their merits...but 2pac always had that certain, something|
All the Eminem haters go download "if i had" from his first CD the Slim shady LP
listen to it a couple times then come back and if you still think he is a dumb talentless Hate monger.......
I will then respect your opinion.........

Eminem is gay, That guy is the biggest sucker in the world. One day this assholes gonna get shot and noones gonna care. Anyone who is white and says the word "******" is a straight cock knocker who deserves no exsitence at all. Sorry for such harsh words, But I can not stand this guy at all. He has not done one good thing, And is just wasting space.
Oh yea, One more thing. He gives true rap a bad name. And he is not a "lyrical genius" Im not flamming or saying I hate rap. I personally like rap, True rap not that "Hey nigga, Im gonna shoot yo momma tonight"..... Anyone can throw a bunch of bad words onto a album and make a quick buck. It takes no talent at all.

I'm a dumbass? Excuse me for being raised with morals and not listening to music that degrades women and such, And biznology how do I generally not have no idea what I am talking about? Just cause I dont agree with you I automatically have no idea of what I am talking about? Nice to know you pull stuff out of your ass randomly!
wow.
alright my opinion doesnt matter...
you think that *music* is reality?
degrading women in rhyme is the same as reality? i have morals, but im not shitting myself over what some random guy says.
as for your 'dumbass' claim, i never said that word...
i LOVE how people make shit up on this board. just cause you think that eminem is a fucking asshole doesnt mean that his music is bad, or even that he is bad as a person.
just cause you made a random, sweeping generalization about an artist and i called you on it, doesnt mean that i think you are stupid in some academic sense...
frankly i just see a bunch of people that think trance is some 'better' form of music freaking out about another genre. music is music, and your unwillingness to enjoy various forms doesnt mean that genre is bad...
when you have concrete complaints, reply|
