does anyone know if you have to pay customs duty on records from satelite records? last time i ordered from them i got nailed for customs duty tax ~$30 for 15 records

oh, from out of the US i mean, like canada or worldwide.

Posted by Shudder on Mar-16-2004 08:12:

heres one I accidentally stumbled upon

http://www.k-records.be

located in Belgium

got some crazy ass progressive selection. may even be better than 3 beat/ release or rival them.

Posted by Briden on Apr-03-2004 07:14:

what the heck is with records stores advertising a record, then having it not be in stock? 3 beat does this to me every time, and their excuse is, the website does not show stock levels. would you go to a grocery store, buy some banana's and then have the store manager tell you, sorry, they aren't in stock, we will have to order those from jamaica for you?

also, 3 beat has a nasty habit of sending just part of your order, then parts, and more parts, and the shipping is astronomical this way.

it's so bad i almost want to pay someone to record shop for me, i'll just give them the list of choons i want, and they can get them for me.

wouldn't be so bad if i had any record stores in town i could go to, digging through crates is all part of the fun of being a DJ, but digging through crappy websites just isn't the same.

...I guess they press them again... ...I ordered once 2 Records - and all I got where two whitelabels with the names of the artists on the record...

...I think If you order there, that they press the records again only for you...

Yep sad news indeed. Groovetech wasn't making any money so they called it a day.

Not sure if anyone mentioned, but check out the paintedpuppy.com.. located in Tampa, FL and home for Rick West and Afterdark records. Great shop.

I know your pain all too well. I've been waiting on a record from 3 beat for about 2 months now. Said I'd have it about 6 fridays ago. Instore it's "OK" but the website and prices leaves a little to be desired.

www.clubtracks.net is having a going out of business sale....looks like everything is at 60% off! I've ordered from them in the past and had good experiences. The selection is dwindling but it might be worth a look.

it would probably be best if you check with the courier that you're gonna be using...different couriers have different prices and requirements on their services...

the earlier i've seen anything get to england from overseas is 3 days, and you'll be paying top dollar (or whatever currency) to get your package there in 3 days...

They're in Tampa, FL and have some good breaks. Good discounts and sales too. Fast, same day shipping when I ordered.
