Oh so just because it's legal because the administration says so means that it's right?

Oh ok. Got it.

Posted by srussell0018 on Jun-10-2013 17:57:

The administration? Try reading up on FISA before you make completely ignorant comments.

Transparency for 100, Alex.

Seriously. Read.

Do you seriously expect that the government be completely transparent with its intelligence gathering methods? You honestly believe that? Like you're not joking?

Posted by OrangestO on Jun-10-2013 18:05:

Arguing about it on here is futile. Especially with you Rusty, because you just go and go and go and go and go and go and go. And it goes no where.

I'm going to reserve my comments for a face-to-face conversation to be had later this evening over a beer.

Well you want to be a journalist. Nevermind, of course you think that.

Agree with you but what can the average citizen do but vote for the lesser evil?

By the way I know you were just speaking in general terms.

If the government is doing it, it must be legal. I like your reasoning.

Jog along you fuck. This thread is for patriots.

IF A COURT APPROVED IT, IT MUST BE ILLEGAL. WAIT

Your privacy is basically worthless, because nobody cares about your life in the first place.

As for the subject of voting, I consider it a complete and utter myth that it would make any difference to the introduction of such policies. This kind of thing will happen and continues to happen no matter which party or politician ends up in power, and there are far too many flaws on just about every level of the democratic system for good political policy to actually be consistently rewarded. The only merit voting has is to sustain the overall structure of democracy, whereby leaders must at least affect a pretext of caring for their people if they want to prolong their personal spasm of power. So don't worry about taking responsibility for anything, because you have no real influence anyway.

Couldn't have said it better.

Snowden is an idiot, Greenwald is an idiot, this whole thing is bullshit.

A good article on how the story has changed considerably from the first mentions:

http://www.zdnet.com/the-real-story...ism-7000016570/

Interesting tidbit:

http://www.politico.com/story/2013/...lman-92505.html

Greenwald claims he's been working with Snowden since February. Snowden get the job with BAH in March.

There is no scary story here - this guy is no hero.

The average person is FOR drone strikes and American government interfering overseas. So really the people in the states get whatever they deserve. With the federal government becoming more concerned about issues overseas and domestic government becoming more concerned about ripping private wealth off its citizens. Eventually things will come to a point it cannot continue anymore.

That reporter sounds like an idiot who "broke" a story that wasn't really a story for no reason and is now throwing hissy fits at anyone who questions the authenticity of it.

fuck youre dumb

IM not the one crying a river over the evils of the world and how I wish everything was different and sunshine and rainbows (whilst displaying a distinct lack of experience, knowledge and expertise over said evils). I on the other hand have a reasonable grasp of various issues because im a not an inbred imbecile. this is despite the ridiculous amount of hours I waste playing videogames.

so, basically for your comment to be relevant you would need me to
a) cry a river over stupid things
b) have absolutely no clue; and
c) rally against The Man on tranceaddict.

hence your retort is stupid and you should feel bad.
