I started about 2-3 years ago with all the mainstream stuff too. ATB 9PM, DJ Jean - The Launch, Mike Koghlin - Enjoy the Silence, etc. Didn't really know what trance was, and a lot of people in the US back then classified anything from Europe as "Euro" music. But then I heard Gouryella - Gouryella and Out of the Blue that a friend had on vinyl and I started searching for "Trance" on Napster, and after filing through a lot of the garbage I discovered PVD and Paul Oakenfold. After tracks like For an Angel and sets like Oakenfold at Gatecrasher, I started hating the fact that I lived here and couldn't hear these DJ's live every weekend like the Europeans could.

i think it would definately have to be westbam - celebration generation, im sure it was 93, quality feel good warm fuzzy trance for the era.

this one is easy to answer... i still remember the song vividly - the original of cafe del mar - energy52 (back in the day when SOS spun it often)... very pleasant, and i would whistle the tune throughout the week after a party when i was first starting out...

For me it was quite a few tracks a friend from New Zealand introduced me to.

Lost Witness - Red Sun Rising (Lange Mix)
Lost Witness - 7 Colours
Ayla - (Various Tracks)
Vincent De Moor - (Again Several different tracks).

After hearing those I rapidly moving on to PvD, Ferry etc. Life has never been the same.
