There was no manslaughter because he killed him in self defense. That's pretty obvious.

George Zimmerman had a history of federal charges. What crimes had Trayvon committed that had even been charged, much less convicted?

Posted by enydo on Jul-18-2013 19:11:

Yeah, let's ask people if someone they know is a racist. Those answers will be totally legitimate in determining whether that person is a racist or not. SHOCKING NEWS: 100% of people asked "Are you racist?" responded with "Of course not!".

I THINK THERE WAS LIKE, SOME WEED IN HIS POCKET. AND THERE WERE SOME PICTURES WHERE HE LOOKED LIKE A RAPPER.

Also,

From Martin's cell phone.

Such an innocent little boy.

There was no murder charge because Zimmerman killed him, likely defending himself. But it's idiotic that avoiding manslaughter would fall under the spirit or clause of Self Defense, as it is written, when there is considerable and admitted stalking incited by nothing more than being black and unrecognized.

He'd been suspended from school for marijuana possession, his mother kicked him out of his house, his father sent a text message to him recently before the incident with advise on how he needs to "be a good kid." He was obviously not "innocent."

Did he have it on him?

Guys, trayvon acted suspicious even when the have no reason to. Why? Because if makes them look cool? Who knows.

I've seen black teens do it all the time. They walk down the street with their pants sagging and turn around everywhere to see if anyone's looking at them. They probably have no reason to do that, but they do. Its gangster. Trayvon was from a middle class family but he was acting gangster. He was stupid. It doesn't justify his killing but it gives some context to the evolving circumstances.

Listen to the tape. The media and the left want to portray this is some innocent kid minding his own business but he decided to escalate the situation as well and got the short end of the stick.

Ok, sure, not "innocent". But absolutely innocent of any crimes of pretense under which George Zimmerman profiled and pursued him.

Posted by enydo on Jul-18-2013 19:15:

omg my christian Aunt and Uncle have pistols they've taken pictures of too. SHOULD I BE ON THE LOOKOUT?

Is he less innocent because he's black and holding the gun?

On an unrelated note, there was no gunshot residue on the sleeve of Zimmerman's jacket.

How do we know it's even his hand, and not just a black hand holding a gun?

So Grassy Knoll or Book Depository?

Posted by enydo on Jul-18-2013 19:18:

A clean kill, A+. Would shoot again.

Posted by srussell0018 on Jul-18-2013 19:19:

I'm not claiming anything, just that ballistics found no gunshot residue on his jacket, and 3 sets of DNA on his gun.

Posted by enydo on Jul-18-2013 19:19:

GOD, those saggy pants and "thug" attitudes make me so uncomfortable. I wish they would just STOP. I shot you because you made me UNCOMFORTABLE.

So, proof that Zimmerman shot him point blank in a physical fight. A man with minimal firearm training was able to successfully unsheathe his weapon while grappling around on the ground- a considerable feat, given how paunchy the guy is. Or is it because he had readied his weapon before he encountered Trayvon? Hm.

Posted by enydo on Jul-18-2013 19:23:

NO, HE DIDN'T HAVE IT READY. WE CAN ASSUME HE WAS JUST A PROTECTOR OF THE PEACE OUT FOR A STROLL AND TRAYVON WAS SAGGING HIS WAY AROUND, SWAGGERING AND ALL THAT, SO HE WAS PRETTY MUCH ASKING FOR IT IMO.

SMASHED ZIMMERMAN'S HEAD INTO A CURB. THE DEATH IS JUSTIFIED.

Posted by srussell0018 on Jul-18-2013 19:24:

That's not proof of anything. Even if it was at point blank range, there'd still be gunshot residue all over him. Especially the sleeve of the arm he held the gun in.

Posted by srussell0018 on Jul-18-2013 19:24:

Jesus enydo is annoying

Posted by srussell0018 on Jul-18-2013 19:27:

This is what I found:

Posted by srussell0018 on Jul-18-2013 19:32:

The gun shot residue on the upper back portion of his sleeve could suggest that Trayvon was on top of him to the point that the gun was pressed back into Zimmerman's shoulder. If he had the gun drawn in a normal shooting position, the residue would be on the ends of his sleeves. Also, the existence of DNA other than Zimmerman's on the gun and holster could suggest that Trayvon went for his gun. This is all obviously speculation of course.

The other kind of weird thing is that there was eye witness testimony that placed a man in a white T-shirt on top of someone else during the altercation, and neither Zimmerman nor Martin were wearing a white t shirt. Even in the dark, bright orange or black should probably be easily distinguishable from white.

What was he looking for, that he brought a gun? He was looking for something, it wasn't a coincidental meeting on the street. If Zimmerman actively sought out and killed a perceived threat that turned out to be nothing more than someone passing through, why is there no manslaughter charge? I can buy that he didn't set out to kill or murder him, but why did he invite this situation into his life? It's dearly irresponsible, and he is obviously a further danger to his community if he is inclined to kill a simple wayfarer.

To presume that either side started the fight is utterly irrelevant, because there is no evidence either way. It might as well be dismissed from opinion. The facts are that one person is dead, the other isn't, but the one who killed him admitted to following him for completely baseless and unfounded reasoning.

maybe zim was trying to prevent something like this happening again.

"Olivia Bertalan was home alone with her infant son one morning last August when a man came to her door, knocked, and rang the doorbell. She peered out a window, didn't recognize the man and called police when another man came to her back door. Bertalan, 21, ran upstairs and locked herself and her son in a bedroom as the second man entered her home, which was in the Retreat at Twin Lakes, a gated, middle-income neighborhood of 260 townhouses in Sanford, Fla., outside Orlando. Terrified, she and her son cried as the man tried to turn the knob of the door where they hid. Both men ran when police arrived, but not before stealing a laptop and digital camera."
