Lineup is not complete without David Guetta.

Posted by lucasdy on May-28-2014 04:03:

Okay, assuming the most recent posts are in fact the correct lineup, a lot of DJs I was hoping to see are not listed:

- Paco Osuna
- Richie Hawtin
- Joseph Capriati
- Bart Skils
- Ida Engberg
- Paul Ritch
- Scuba
- Deep Dish
- Soul Clap
- Victor Calderon
- Maetrix

Now I have to debate which day I will go to EDC for the first and only time, Friday or Sunday, and sell the remaining days of my ticket to someone.

When they say "Carl Cox & Friends", does that mean they may still announce more names? Or are the "friends" already listed in the released lineup?

i hate to be 'that guy,' but this lineup is pretty terrible aside from a few interesting picks (some good uplifting and psytrance in there). when coachella's house lineup blows edc's out of the water, there is something wrong. and not a whole lot of proper techno either aside from beyer and moudaber.

Must please the masses.

Not sure what you are talking about. This is one of the better EDC LV lineups. There is less top 40 EDM than in previous years, and they are adding a lot of lesser known stuff (i.e. Djemba Djemba, someone I would have never expected to see on an EDC lineup)

To be clear, though, I'm not saying there isn't a lot of crap.

Bullshit. There is amazing DNB, and psytrance to go along with the Tech stage. You just don't get that very many places.

If you only listen to techno just go to movement...

No Davvincci?

Some of you guys are crazy, is it the "best line up of all time"-No, not even close(wtf is Hawtin, Danny Tenaglia, Liebing, or Drumcode?), some previous years were better, but the Techno/Tech House line up is pretty fucking solid-

Carl Cox, Loco Dice, Luciano, Nicole Moudaber, John Digweed, Bushwaka, Jamie Jones, Adam Beyer, Booka Shade, Dubfire, MK, Maya Jane Coles, Claude Von Stroke, Dusky, Art Dept, Eats Everything, Green Velvet, Umek, etc... (and hopping for a surprise Cirez D appearance on Saturday in Cox arena)

but the real shit is dat Trance/Psy line up

Paul Van Dyk, Armin(no trouse hopefully), Astrix vs Simon Patterson, Astral Projection, Orjan Nislen, Jordan Suckley, Andrew Reyel, Infected Mushroom(Dj set), etc.....

The only proper techno I see is Dubfire, Nicole Moudaber, and Adam Beyer. The rest is cheese fest tech house. There is some good house and "deep" house though, but I feel the lineup is lacking big time from last year with these three genres.

The trance is pretty nice, Astrix and Astral Projection are about the only 0.0 names on the entire lineup for me.

I think overall the lineup is weak, but it's good enough to have a great time at and get a good bit of everything I like.

agreed with this. i dunno, maybe my expectations are too high, but i feel like ultra, tomorrowworld, and even coachella (at least as far as house goes) beat edc out this year. edc just plays it too safe by booking cox, loco, jamie, digweed, von stroke, umek, green velvet every year.

i did admit that uplifting/psy is done well this year. not sure about dnb cause i don't really listen to it, but even if i take your word for it, a solid psytrance and dnb lineup does not mean the entire festival was well-booked.

edit: second paragraph directed toward bpm_phl, not illie

Andy C, Calyx & Teebee, Camo & Krooked, Dirtyphonics, Ed Rush & Optical, Loadstar, Mystical Influence & Sniper, Netsky, Sub Focus, and Wilkinson all worth a check out if you get bored with the tech house.

Quite a proper lineup for this side of the Atlantic.

Posted by theqlogic87 on May-29-2014 14:15:

Can't believe Astral Projection will be playing at EDC, they alone are reason to go, along with Astrix, superb!, also Simon Patterson who has been playing proper Psy Trance as of late. EDC could use more Psychedelic music but this should do it for this year. I expect more Psy in 2015 in the US, which will be the case!

This looks pretty solid

really

Right? and does Loco Dice and Green Velvet not qualify as techno anymore?

Posted by MR STROKE on May-29-2014 22:00:

OP can you update the parties week list?

I was hopping to see some of the Techno DJ's playing at clubs/pool/afterparties but nothing yet :\

Posted by lucasdy on May-29-2014 23:30:

Who else hasn't announced their parties yet besides Lavo, Artisan and After?

Posted by jonmitz on May-30-2014 00:25:

Drais, right? I think they only announced one pool party?

no they've announced their full lineup except for Sunday night TBA. Best is Sat day with Prydz and Sat night with Luciano. rest is nothing too special.

I haven't been to Vegas in awhile, but wasn't there a regular pool party at the Tropicana? And what about the clubs at Luxor and Mirage? Rain at Palms? Are there any off-strip venues that host parties that weekend?

Unfortunately word is Lavo no longer does club nights. Hoping LV Loves Techno finds a fitting home.

I don't see anything happening at Tropicana/Luxor/Mirage(they have never had a real club scene out side of top40)

and AFAIK Rain at Palms shut down.

Maybe AFTER does something last minute with all the Dj's in town?

Disappointing there hasn't been more Techno/House artists playing at Pool Parties/After parties like previous years. Who knows maybe attendance was shit so the played it safe this year :\
