I'm also enjoying the resurgence of blantant sampling/bootlegging. Where once the industry clamped down hard to stop anyone profting from this, there is now no profit to be made full stop. So there seems to be more of a cavalier attitude to just quietly throwing stuff out there, since there's nothing for the original owners to claim back anyway. A few I've spotted:

Match Box - Gaboon
Angel D'lite - 1000 Flowers
Alex Kassian & Running Hot - The Love Theme
Paramida - Limbo In Heaven

Not going to spoil the fun and name the sources, but they're fairly obvious.

Some of the sampling and references to classic tracks are extremely subtle and cleverly done... some decidedly less so. I am slightly surprised Love On The Rocks got away with The Love Theme though, because that vinyl was reviewed by RA, sold out in no time, and I've heard that track everywhere this summer. All in all, not exactly an underground club obscurity.

Yeah, listen, that's not what I created this thread for. These days I distinguish between the modern trance scene and what I call the "legacy trance" scene. Any middle aged guys from 20+ years ago playing stuff you think is good - please go and make a separate thread for them. This one is specifically about the new generation of producers and DJs.

Before anything, it's NOT hypnotic techno. Very different sound from Claudio who has not only been improving his sound over the past couple of years but is also demonstrating strong versatility.

Massive new compilation drop from Haws, who've been quiet for a while, probably because they've been collating bangers for this bad boy. I'm a little bit sad that Fazack track has such a puny low end, otherwise it'd be the choice cut from the whole comp:

A lot of these producers should've been born 20 years earlier. They have the classic prog style down to a science.

Not sure I would have remembered or noticed if you hadn't pointed it out!

Relieved to see there isn't too much crossover between yours/Jacks and my latest mix. "Time Out" was going to be my track 1 but in the end it didn't work out that way, great opener though.

to revisit this - and i acknowledge sanity's reference to old-school analog prog and that i picked the wrong thread - but im still interested in your opinion of the tracks posted. good/bad/genre/place in the club/good or bad for raping sushipunk when he least expects it etc...

despite (or because of?) my amazing ignorance i've loved reading all the discussions and arguments here about genres, tracks, scenes, clubs, countries and dickheads etc which shaped the universe but given TA is now as popular as one of lira's diatribes and those discussions are pretty rare - this is all i have!
