Looks like the Chemical Brothers could be performing in SF in September. I'd love to see them again. Hoping for an LA show.

Man, for real, it was infectious. Their energy lit up the entire place. Reading other comments from their other sets on this tour the common take is this might be the best they've ever been. Incredible.

Nice! I hear their recent sets have been stellar. Would love to see them live.

Aaaand just read Sasha and Digweed are back to Silo in Dallas in September (with Diggers this time). 4-hour set with Sinca opening.

Sasha killed it solo last time, and Digweed was solid in Seattle in February. Might make the trip again, hard to turn down the dream team, especially with a long set!

PERFECT!! Sounds like they'll be touring with each other. This means they should (hopefully) have LA and SF dates lined up as well.

Yeah definitely! Looks like they're hitting NYC end of September. Just got tickets for Dallas.

Got to see Royksopp at the Henry Fonda Theater this past Friday. I don't remember too much due to getting blotto but the stuff I do remember was fun. Event was promoted as a dj set but in a concert venue. The event went from 8PM to 11PMish. Older crowd (people in their late 30's and up) and great vibe. Really enjoyed the evening.

Taking the family to see Earth Wind and Fire at the Hollywood Bowl for the 4th of July.

Also attending the Innervisions party in September. Anyone else going?

Lane 8 in October, Intricacy X in August, Laidback Luke in September and Dreamstate so far.

Hell yeah!! I purchased tickets as soon as I saw they were available. This should be good. I know one of the guys involved and he told me he HATED the last event Digweed played at because of the VIP setup. This event will have "NO VIP". They want to try to keep the vibe as underground as possible.

Dreamstate in November actually looked like a decent lineup. I'm not a trance fan but there were a lot of artist that we (Spundae) used to book that would fee very nostalgic.

But I know Cool1g has the VIP Guest List Hook Ups!!!

Btw... it was great seeing you at Lee's bday. Hope you have/had a great trip to England.

Went to see Rufus at the Rose Bowl this past weekend. Sold out crowd. Lots of people singing every word to all of their songs. Everyone seemed to love it. Was never really a big Rufus fan so I was a bit bored through the show. Was ready to leave about halfway through.

(haven't been on since 2018...)

I have some friends that are interested but they're super-scared that the venue is not-legal.

I'm assuming it's somewhere new/not used much to keep it more down-low...right?

(There will be no more Mayan parties, RIP)

Been still going to shows...just can't do the 4am-ers anymore.

hahahaha! I feel ya on the late night shows. Day parties for me. We have tickets for this (S&D) event but are not 100% for sure going. The partying all night thing is easy. It's the recovery during the day with kids at home that is challenge.

I don't think this will be an "illegal" venue. I'm sure they will have a permit of some sort. They did something similar with the Digweed show last year which was near LAX. I think they used the excuse of it being a location for filming or something like that.

Innervisions show was freaking amazing. Dixon and Ame are probably the best DJ duo out there. I think I recorded 2 songs they played but did my best to keep my phone in my pocket. It was one of those nights where I wanted to stay in the moment (if that makes sense). They just have this incredible sound that is hard to explain. Best I comparison I can make is (old) Sasha and Digweed. Dixon plays all the trippy, brain destroyer shit, and Ame comes back in with the bangers.

Next parties:
Sasha and Digweed underground (location TBD). This will be a tough one as all nighters are rough.
Solomun day event.

Posted by galactic2154 on Sep-29-2025 06:49:

Been a minute since I've gone to see anyone's set. Thinking of Joris Voorn at Avalon (eek).

Solomun day party? Is it the same one as the 6pm event near Glendale?

Couple weeks late, but speaking of Sasha and Digweed, saw them at Silo in Dallas for the club's one-year anniversary on September 13. Amazing show. Sinca was a great opener. S&D came on around 9:30 and didn't stop until after 2:30 (including an encore track).

They spent a couple hours building up a good groove, and once midnight hit they really let it rip. At its best it was that driving progressive sound from the late 90s/Global Underground/Communicate/Twilo era. Intense and mostly relentless, still had the classic long transitions and insane layering. Honestly the best they've sounded in years, almost like old times again. They even dropped some classics like BT - Mercury & Solace (Helsloot Extended Remix) and LSG - Netherworld (BLR X Hel:slowed Remix). Crowd went nuts. Also played Paul Kalkbrenner - Gebrunn Gebrunn near the end which was a nice touch (pretty sure I heard them play that last time I saw them together at Crobar NYC in 2006).

Only negative is they took a little too long building that groove in the beginning and I started to lag just before midnight, but it sounded like they were chomping to let go once the lights came on proper at midnight and they could do peak time. Consequence of doing a five hour set with an early closing time I guess - probably would have been better if they could've stayed later.

Silo is a pretty damn nice venue, phenomenal sound and visuals (Diggers said he had a hand in the sound design), good crowd for the most part. Second time there and I'd go back for sure. 5 hour set was easily worth the flight from the PNW.

Just got tickets for S&D in LA in November - hoping they tear it up again. With a 5 or 6AM ending time I bet it'll be solid. Flying down Friday night and back home right after the show's over...straight into recovery with the kids at home, definitely going to feel that.

Nice man, I've listened to them individually but not as a duo. You got me interested now! Gotta check em out.

LOL! Honestly, I'd love to visit Avalon one last time. I'd like to see how the old club is. One of the few relics from our days.

I know the Solomun party is in Glendale just don't know the venue. Back in my younger days when I was InstaG, I'd see posts of him play an after party show (like Avalon), then an after/after party at a big house in the hills. Unfortunately, none of my friends are young so no one is in the loop anymore.

We're going to have to have a TA meet up yo!!

As for Dixon and Ame... I think they are the best duo out there right now. But you have to see them do a 4+ hour set at least. anything less doesn't capture itl

Posted by camshaft on Nov-13-2025 09:01:

edit: ended up not being able to go. One of my flights got cancelled and the rebooking wasn't going to work. Gutted! Let me know how it goes man, sounds like a blast.

Bro! That shit was fucking SIICCCKKKKKK!!! It honestly reminded me of their Spundae shows in SF when I first started clubbing. Wonderful crowd who were all respectful, good tunes, not overly packed. Fucking awesome night. I anticipated leaving earlier in the evening with being an old fart these day. Nope! Stayed till 5AM/closing. Brain has completely melted away. Thank goodness the wife is watching the kids today.

Posted by camshaft on Nov-15-2025 21:45:

Dude yes! Glad to hear it was an awesome show. That's exactly how I felt after seeing them in Dallas in September, that old sound and feeling for sure. Hearing those classics like Mercury & Solace or LSG - Netherworld was mind blowing. Honestly I think the best S&D has sounded in ages. On the lookout for the next show. (And Dixon & Ame still).

Posted by 72hrpartyanimal on Nov-16-2025 01:32:

Sasha and Digweed are and always will be the kings of the modern day dance music scene.
