cant say i agre this time tave. i like rap. emienem was the biggest sellin single artist of 2000 so up urs tavey. not many will bak me up but im into all types of music. lots of rap is just rediculously shit but D.R.E n eminem have some uter brilliant stuff out!!!!

as long as u people are happy wyth the kind of music u listen to u are cool and so keep it that way and dont tell others to listen to it if they dont like it.

some of you ppl hate rap like other ppl hate trance. i often hear people say "what the fuck is that shit your listening to" they just dont understand. we may say the exact same thing about rap. everyone has their own tastes.

Everyone who posted in this thread should go and read over everything they said. This is truly unbelievable. I haven't seen anything like it. A bunch of people arguing over different forms of music. Who are you people to say which form of music is better than the other? Has ignorance taken over? Anyone that is educated who has read this forum would think so. One comment stuck in my mind about the argument of "is rap an art form?" This is the pinnacle of ignorance in this thread. Playing rubber bands can be an art form. Art is unbound and is only restricted by one's narrow mind. These threads are utterly painful and completely pointless. Did any of you really get anywhere? Was there ever a resolution? NO so my question is why the hell do you waste your time? I am wasting my time right now but hopefully have provided some insight into the matter.

p.s. I pity whoever has a reply to this and I will not waste my time replying to you as I have already wasted enough time here.

Oh for fuck sake, why bother ressurecting this??? It was dead and buried and I was trying to end it and you're likely to spark the whole bloody thing back up! You talked about it being painful and pointless, it is worthless but it was dead and you are the one who brought it back up!

ok about rap...most of it i would have to agree with the lot of you...it is crap but there is rap that is meaningful...if you care to listen to the words...if you are exposed, have grown where rap is the norm...where your friends and all that listen to it or what not, and contrary to belief, rap is way bigger over here than it is over in europe...um like whens the last time you heard a 'ish (i chose not to pick out a certan country to avoid further controversy) rapper...

there are two peeps i still listen to...like for instance...when my bro stole my car...theres this one tune that totally fit the way i was feeling, said absolutly the things i would say if i wasnt so fucking pissed...i put that tune on a cd...thats the last thing i said to him...cold it may be, but dats an issue inside me...
dont judge a book by its cover...thats said a lot...dont judge a rap song by its beat...the two peeps i got in my mind are two of the most articulate, and ever so blunt about the way some people live...
they both possess the ability to write such awesome poetry that you wouldnt believe came out of someone who 'raps'...

Nicely said... There's a ton of hip-hop emcee's that no one hears about because they are to complex with poetry that amazes me at times... Some of these emcees can write better lyrics then alot of other musicians out there in any music in the world, but you won't hear about them because of one thing... the world has it's rule for most musics, which is K.I.S.S.(Keep it simple stupid)... When it comes to rap the world wants to hear lyrics they can understand the first time they listen to them, so that's why you only hear bullshit rap on the radio's and see it on T.V. ...Real artists that make the music from the heart, and that try to be the most creative don't get airplay...i like underground hip-hop, but what everyone hears is Commercial rap that have people like Missy Elliot, Puff Daddy, Masta P, juvenile, Ja Rule, Dmx, Choclair and all those other suckers on MTV and MM, all that shit is wack and makes the music look bad... Since '96 that music has gotten so poluted with all that "money", "mafia wannabe", "how much gold you wear" matterialistic bullshit, that i've lost 85% of my interest in the music... i use to write lyrics, dj, and produce, but since all that crap came about i've lost confidents in that music. Now i can only listen to a small amount of groups (i could probably count them all on my fingers)... If trance was to get commercially big in North America it would suck cause the way the majority thinks over here is to materialistic, and would make the music go to shit too.

o i totally agree with sugarbean on this 1. alot is just bull but doesnt eminem being the best selling single artist of 2000 tell u that those that think its crap are clearly on ur own!!! some rap is excellent and has deep lyrics u wanna listen sometime.(its not all about fish yevat!)lol
