yeah, i gotta get me some senns, i have been meaning too for awhile, but no store near where i am sells them, and i hate buying stuff online.

i should get some earplugs too, i'm gonna go deaf, right now i am mixing with some cheap $50 optimus headphones. they actually sound REALLY good, i'd say better than my friends Sony MDR600s, but they don't block out much outside sound.

yeah, that's pretty tight too. I still like yours better though, much nicer presentation. you just need a few CDJs or final scratch to top it off.

yeah, i was kinda wondering what kinda music you spun, do you have any mixes online?

Posted by DjJade on Apr-02-2003 04:57:

i think you would find a gaussian curve between trance and progressive with some breaks scattered about in the music i spin. i dont have any mixes online becuase im not quite good enough yet : ) alot of that equipment is there becuase i was an audiophile before i started spinning so..yeah must satisfy both sides of me. maybe ill put together a mix in the near future but for now im messing around as much as i can aside from school... especially this semester is hardcore so i havent had much time to practice.

im probably gonna stay away from the cdjs and final scratch because i like to keep things simple. and i like vinyl...theres a certain elegance about it, you know? well thats just my opinion.

I see what you mean. I have Final Scratch and I also buy vinyls. Final scratch is great for unreleased records, and personal tracks. And you still get that "certain elegance" with it. It also couldnt be any simpler to use. PS. Nice setup. I was thinking about getting a third turntable but im having a hard time trying to find a place to put it. Do you get much use out of the third deck?

Posted by DjJade on Apr-02-2003 06:42:

yea i started out with a vinyl of just samples of breaks bu dj shadow but the samples are too short so i moved to some breaks and stuff to mix in to trance and progressive. i also have that third table overclocked so its nice when i have an exceptionally slow or fast song. its cool to juggle tracks... havinug one song with another one in the middle and a third that mixes in at the end of the first...and then bringing in parts of trhe first in etc.... its hard though i get exhausted trying to keep up with everything : P its fun though, im just having fun with it all

well whitesmoke, i officially decided to take the time and register, so here i am. as for the rest of you who don't know me, i'm that other guy that built the setup with whitesmoke. i am in the process of upgrading my equipment, and the mixer is the first thing to go, but it's not like i have an extra three grand laying around just so that my setup can look "in place." i appreciate the criticism, but it's a little extreme. thanks to those of you who like the setup, it took some time to build, and it's far from done. also, anyone have any comparisons on the djm-3000 vs. djm-500?? whitesmoke, keep it up. later.

How much do you charge?

Dude I would not sell that baby for the DJM-500, not worth it at least IMO, especially if you only plan to use this at home...

Here is my setup:

That table seems kind of low. How high is it? I suggest elevating it for more comfortable mixing.

hey spot who is the vandit chikc in your avatar!! fucknig wicked hehehehehehe

Arsalan - Says ur PM box is full........

trancearmada - I don't know....I was playing around with the DJM-500 at the club and I liked it. Plus it has input for atleast 2 more tables I think. Would be great so I wouldn't have to hurry and grab records and sample and all that stuff on 2 tables.

The Vestax was good for home use but didn't really do me any good in the bar. I took it out once and I wasn't really feeling the mixer, on the other hand, that DJM would make me happy. Just love those effects and stuff. The Vestax has effect inputs but do not wanna spend money buying those.
