Not to be negative here but I remember DJ Trinity saying that he wasn't impressed with the Rane 2016, he didn't understand what all the fuss was and said it lacked balls. I wonder what changed his mind enough to caused him to make it the centerpiece of his setup...

I own this mixer and I always wonder why people are so quick to hate on it. I know that there are lots of great mixers out there and the Rane 2016 is definitely one of them. Anyway I’m just giving him a hard time but I would honestly like to understand what changed his mind.

I am the first to admit it lacks balls still and sound quality...the thing that changed my mind is its versatile for my needs.....i use the crossfader mostly now but on occasion playing prog i love knobs...i didn'y like the knobs on the 92 ......its a nice mixer....and if i jerk around eqing it it enough i can get exactly what i want anyway.........let me pull my foot outta my mouth now

$4500?? Where have you been shopping?? Check out the other DJ stores online. I'm not a promotor for any of them, so I won't mention names, but I've seen the same mixer for way cheaper than $4500.

Posted by ô§§|E on Jul-21-2004 04:52:

Yeah i know, but that was the first price i saw, also u have to remember the exchange rate, im talking Aussie $$$ not US $$$.

If i were to buy that mixer in Perth (where i live) it'd cost over $4500, they sell a Xone V6 here for like $13,000 (which is bullshit and you could easily get them down to about $9,000 but thats still a lot!)

You guys are lucky in America, everything is a LOT cheaper then here in Australia!

ie, i can order a pair of Sony MDR-V700 headphones, for $180 roughly, including shipping from America, whilst when I "get a deal" from the sony shop in Perth, i have to pay $270. Both prices are in Aussie $$$. Which is very annoying!!!

Posted by tjpatel on Jul-26-2004 04:34:

my new setup made from a ikea desk and dmf wood for less then $100

Posted by WhiteBlade on Jul-26-2004 05:12:

I recognise that desk the seconde I saw that picture.

Hehe working at Ikea is not a good thing for me I think I'm getting crazy everything I see that is from the store I'm like HEYY it from IKEA !!! And my friend are like who cares !

Nice setup I think it a nice table to put against a wall like that.

Does it look like I have any more space on either desk to put everything on one desk?

Oh, another cool thing is what I found in Photoshop the other day... I took a real photo of my CDJ and headphones and made it look like a cartoon image! Haha, I love how I randomly came across this technique without even looking at any tutorials.

im currently waiting for my setup to come in..it includes
*Denon DNS-3000 Cd Players
*Denon DNX-1500 Mixer
*Technics 1200 Mk2 Turnies

I wanted to put together a table and have seen plenty of designs. at the moment i wouldnt have the money to by the material needed to put together a customised table so i was thinking of perhaps getting a table that will fit everything on it to start off with and then add on to it..such as stands for the cd players etc..
also
mylold man has offered to by me a little shed for the backyard bout 3m x 4.4m
I was thinking of layering it with carpet and some sort of sound proof material such as foam..do u guys know of any other ways to sound proof which might save a bit of money..and what do use think of the ideas?

thanks in advance
Nick
