Actually that lawsuit was valid.

Then again we couldn't count on someone as "smart" as you to do research, can we?

No shit it was valid camera boy, back in 94 she got 2.5 million if I remember correctly, just like the number of times Deadmau5 has given it up your ass. People sue any chance they can get and win because our court system is fucked up.

i travelled for 12+ hours each way to EDC to hear dance music, not little john having a seizure on the mic. i could actually hear that asshole over by the neon garden! please, please, PLEASE keep hip hop/rap artists away from these events. if you want to cater to that crowd, then start throwing some hip hop parties on the side. but i think its a disservice to all the EDM fans that come from near and far to hear EDM to put that kind of crap on the mainstage. THANK GOD he wasn't doing that shit during A&B or Armin... but i feel sorry for the other artists like laidback luke that had to have their sets interrupted by some screaming jackass with a microphone!

and please strongly consider making your events 18+. i know the kids bring in a lot of extra money, but look at all the trouble that was caused this weekend by a bunch of dumb youngsters that can't handle their shit. their time will come when they're 18, but for now they need to be at home NOT getting trampled on and dying and possibly ruining this wonderful event for the rest of us grownups!

EDM is now mainstream because of artists like Laidback Luke, Guetta, Chuckie, Afrojack, Tiesto. They all collaborated with hip hop artists and are getting played on the radio. That's one reason why you saw more hip hop/mainstream artists than underground or trance on the main stage. Combined, they now have a bigger pull than your A&B, Sasha, etc.

even tiesto has started transitioning further into the house scene. its the 'in' thing now so might as well cash in while the cashing is good. i said it before and i'll say it again and again and again: "David Guetta is the fucking anti-christ."

DaveT was right, Insomniac events will, and have ruined the trance scene in LA. I would much rather have vocalist like Aruna sing over the tracks than lil john... eh!!! Yeah yeah, its all about the money.

so what's it call now?, KrunkHouse,StunaHouse OMG!!!

Posted by DaveT on Jul-01-2010 18:48:

But I didn't mean it in that way. I was just talking in terms that we are seeing the major trance acts less and less in clubs in LA because they are being booked for these big one-offs (massives). And there are more and more massives in the LA area the last few years. And DJs will usually choose a massive over club gig because it's a LOT more exposure.

The quality of the events have nothing to do with what i'm talking about.

I guess english is your second language. VALID lawsuit, as in she was right to sue considering how horrific her injuries were. Not as in "oh she can make one".

Technically you're right considering I speak 3 languages. English was my second language.

Its her fucken fault for putting blistering hot coffee in her lap and opening the lid towards her like a fucken moron. I can't believe you actually feel McDonalds was in the wrong, but then again you worship the only DJ shittier than David Guetta

Posted by DaveT on Jul-01-2010 21:56:

The reason why I never like getting coffee anywhere is because it's never hot enough for me.

When I do get it, I have to put it in a microwave to get it hotter.

That said, the big penalty was because McDonalds had settled a ton fo cases prior to it out of court, some for $500,000+, but never did any research to see if they coudl lower the temp w/o decreasing quality and all that. It was negligance over the years more than in this one instance.

That all said, those types of damages should have been awarded in a class action suits, not one like this. It's probably why, although not known, the final figure McDonalds paid out to her is reportedly a fraction of what the jury originally awarded, and still far less of what the judge reduced it too.

Anyhow, back on topic.

The period goes inside the quotation mark, genius.

LETS CONTINUE TO BE MEANINGLESSLY PEDANTIC!

PS - if he were in england his punctuation would be fine. The american quotation mark punctuation rules are retarded.

Tell that to my old engineering teacher. She found a mistake in everything I did.

Go back to Europe if you don't like it here. We use inches we use miles we use gallons. People need to stop complaining about that dumb stuff. Move to Canada or Mexico where those measurements are the standard. USA has enough complainers as it is.

System-7 is right IMHO. It's one thing for the untalented Dave Guetta to use his cheesy french house to collaborate with overplayed American hip hop artists.

It's entirely another for Insomniac to sell out and take our massives and convert them into electronic Coachella for the masses. We live in a free society so Insomniac can do whatever from a legal perspective -- but from a taste perspective, come on!

Did Insomniac really believe in the PLUR when they were smaller? Maybe - but obviously not anymore because look at the ghetto Lil' John ranting on main stage about beating the f**k outta anyone who jumps the fence.

i'm seriously considering flying elsewhere for my massives. even tho i live in la.

Again, happy that Insomniac made a killing, but they killed the PLUR from these events and sold out.

Hybrid is shittier than David Guetta? I don't get it.

Since you are still too stupid to even use google, i'll help you out:

i agree with djjosuahallllen. i am learning so much today

but can we get back to bitching about edc and their success, and how we hate william or will.i.am or whatever the f his name is.

actually i do have a question. why the fvck was lil john or lil wayne or whoever there? i mean does he have a edm track comin out or something? seriously, why was he there?

Steve Aoki brought him and Rivers Cuomo along to sing in his set, since I think he has done tracks with them.

Lil Jon stayed the next day because he was a fan of Afrojack/Laidback Luke.

he's also good friends with DJ Chuckie

but thats weird. i mean, i understand if you did a track and then hung around and stuff...

but come back the next day...did they (either edc folks or lbl or afro) ask him to mc? i mean, this aint no hip hop show, nor the jungle stage that sometimes require an mc on da mic. ya know.

just weird. this aint no hip hop concert.

i agree with most on here. he was a total buzz kill.

just cause edm has infiltrated the hip hop scene, doesnt mean we want the hip hop scene to infiltrate our scene, catch my drift, well, imho of course.

Can we all agree that that was probably the last EDC at the Coliseum? Suggestions for new venues? I say Downtown LA on Flower just like Giant used to have NYE.
