And the last time I used cid, I was on 5 hits and ended up finding myself in an argument with Matt Darey at a small club here and told him to fuck off and that was 3 or 4 years ago.

My best friend at the time was like, "you used to love his remix of Gamemaster". I said so, he is still acting like a prick to me.

as for arguing with matt darey - that's awesome

the first, and still only, time that i double dropped pills was at a matt darey party a few years ago haha it was awesome

Ok, Matt Darey was playing at a shitty club here. I honestly say that there was 15 to 20 people tops at every given time through out the night. Another 30 people would pay and walk in, maybe have a drink and leave with in 20 to 30 minutes. He wasn't even in a Dj Booth, he was on the floor next to this small dance floor that was empty. This of course was not his fault, where I live there isn't a big scene for this music unless it's Tiesto or Oakenfold. Armin can't even fill our biggest club for big venues.

It was getting later and there was like 8 people left. Everyone wanted to buy Acid from me but I took the whole 5 hits before I even left the house. So since everyone was gone and he looked bored and dumbfounded, I walked up to him to shake his hand and shoot the shit. He immediately started turning knobs on his mixer and playing with his head phones even though he was not cuing another song up.

It was obvious he did not want to be bothered as I realized nobody had approached him all night. Well, I was on all that Cid and didn't think much of it. I waited for him to finish doing what he was doing. leaned over and asked if he could play Eric Prydz - Pjanoo as I think it was still a Promo at that point (could be wrong) but I really liked the song then and he said something smart ass to me. I could tell by his tone of voice and look. But I asked if he already played it because I could understand that or if he didn't have a copy I could understand that as well. So my head is racing to why his tone was so rude, but I didn't hear what he said. Clearly he just didn't want to be bothered and being on 5 hits in a small club half way through his set with only 8 to 10 people left I didn't understand why.

So I asked if he was Ok and having a good time and told him my city always sucks for this kind of music. He said something again and he mumbled it but it was directed at me as I could tell by the tone again.

If I wasn't on 5 hits, I would have excused myself but instead I said you know what, I can't hear what your saying because your mumbling but go fuck yourself and gave him the bird and walked away.


In the end, I know I over reacted but he was trying to put on his big profile Dj look, movements and all the works except the Jesus Pose for a crowd that went from 20 people to 10 at the time.

Why would anyone go see Matt Darey on acid and ask him to play Pjanoo?

Tell him to play some Slayer instead.

Somebody on way to much strong Acid. I wouldn't have cared if he said he wouldn't play Pjanoo if his life depended on it. It was his tone and look. He could have said what ever he said a lot nicer or even rude but not with that tone he had. He was already frustrated looking back at it now because of the turn out for that show so that played a roll in his over all mood, I'm sure. And I liked Pjanoo.

Geez, I was on 5 hits so it will take me a minute to remember. I will have to go through the back catalog in my mind of the songs I did remember him playing.


You know what I just realized I don't even know what year I saw him play that night. I am mixed up but I do remember asking him to play Pjanoo so that will give me a clue.

I also think I asked him to play it because the club was dead and I was tripping and decided to give it a shot because I liked that song since I first heard it. I mean he wasn't busting out any classic productions of his either.

Yeah............ 5 hits of good Acid.
