Well I have moved out of the bedroom at the repeated request of my neighbors. Now I share a practice space with a band here in Seattle. I love that I can really crank it up when I practice now.
Oh and I FINALLY found a use for those lame Free Float things. Now I can make a recording without the CD skipping.
Nice setup Keith!

Keith, did you buy those free float things? I never thought there would be a use for them
Yeah back when I was using a stainless steel table I thought Free Float would help with the feedback. What a joke! Honestly I lost all respect for Tiesto when I saw him promoting them with his (egocentric/I am God) DVD. I just don’t see how anybody could use them with a turntable.
So those two 18s with the 1320W amp really rattle the table. The CD recorder would bounce all around and literally fell of the table one time. Honestly I didn’t think the Free Float would even work but it did. Never a skip on the CDs I record now.
Unless you have a stationary object that you need to isolate from a vibrating surface (like a CD recorder) please don't waste you money. Trust me.
Keith
Thanks for the advice. I always wanted to know from somebody that owned them and wasn't being paid to promote them.

The CDJs have never skipped on me. I am really impressed cause the bass can get so heavy in there that your vision gets blurry. I really can't say enough good stuff about them. It's just too bad that there isn't a 24 bit format so that CDs would sound as good as vinyl...
very nice setups in here people
those freefloats do work for me. I have a wooden floor and with out free floats if u step too hard my tts would skip, all these problems vanished after using FFs. Sure they might be a bit unstable but u get used to that.
bump cause this thread rocks too hard for page 2!

Originally posted by Chris d(-_-)b I have one myself, and i really disslike it. The EQs are crap as hell and the faders leak a bit. The output quality isn't the best possible, and not to mention those beatcounters(but who uses them anyway). It's okay though as long as it stays in a bedroom. |
i have a djx700 and find the eq's a bit weird. from closed to half open is a massive step, where half open ot fully open is hardly anything at all.
i made some additions ot my setup
actually the technic CDJ's and the DJM500 are my friends
he just has them setup in my room since he doesn't have any speakers
looking a little dusty dude
