Went last year for 3 weeks. Its not that easy to save money. Best place to save your money would be on early flights and your accomodation, but to be honest its worth lashing out on accomodation because after a massive night you don't want to have to go back to some shithouse room with no space or air con (we stayed at Jet, had a pool, air con, balcony, sweet place)
everything on the island is reasonably cheap except for the clubbing side of things, but the prices are justified once you experience it
Its worth hiring a car, the beach at san an is crap, but if you grab a map of the beaches and drive there is some really awesome places
Need any other info i'll try to help you out, can also ferry it from barca quite cjeaply as well (8 hours)

Taxi's around the island aren't that badly priced, just hard to come by. Heaps of people offer a taxi service just using there own cars. Get in at your on peril. You'll notice this the moment you walk out of a club. Can bargain with them a bit plus saves you alot of time waiting for cabs
Pre-partys (well advertised, Kanya and Cafe Mambo are wicked places) if you buy your nights ticket at them can offer free transport to and from the event so worth a look plus all the big names rome these places and play sets for free in a very intimate environment
I'll give you an example of a night out
Drink lots of vodka, smirnoff was 11 euros for a litre
Ticket to club 35-40 euros
Transort to club maybe 5-10 euros each (depending on where on the island and if you have a full car of 4 people)
Same for return trip
About 10 euro's for disco's for the night
then its up to you how much you want to drink, cost 8 euros for water and double that for mixed drinks, yes its fucking stupidly overpriced, its not a lie
So your looking at around 150-200 aus for a pretty good night out
in three weeks i spent prob around 2500 (500 on accom was pre paid for, so its neary 3000), with the last week not spending much. Third week was an actual rest and i just hit the beach
For one week i would suggest about 1500, thats not including accommodation. You would live pretty comfortable on that amount of money. It ios the sort of place where it would be great to not have to worry about money because iy is easy to spend heaps very quickly
If you go through a travel agen while you are away they will be able to find some cheap accomodation that you won't see on ibiza spotlight, there is heaps in San An

London - possibly the best city in the world
St Petersburg - not far behind, 2nd best on the sheer value of walking into a pub and being handed a wodka menu, tried them all 20 roubles. Cheap place in the Baltic even for an Australian.
Aarhus - boring shitehole
Gothenburg - not far behind St Petersburg, take over flowing full wallet however
Helsinki - expensive place to get smashed, so make friends with the Aussie Bar owner and forget the cost. Still requrie over flwoing full wallet.
Antwerp - Awesome. Dont need such a full wallet.
Europe rocks.

Apart from Nurburg, which I seriously reckon 99% of people wouldn't like as much as me, I've liked Berlin more than London.
Yeah London was great, I loved it. Easy to get around, plenty to see and do, its got the buzz, nice to look at with all the parks old buildings and new buildings, I can understand the language, but its also so damn expensive and I never really felt at 'home' there.
Berlin on the other hand, all of the above (except the language, that sucks a bit and the parks generally aren't quite as nice), but I'm thinking its somewhere I could easily live, it feels right.
Berlin > London
And I came to that conclusion before i went to Love From Above last night. It was brilliant, had so much fun.
Paul did a Live PA of tracks from his new album, theres a lot of vocal tracks (which in the most part suck a bit), but theres two nice sounding insturmentals and if they release dubs of at least 2 of the vocal tracks (New York City and also Talk in Grey) he could have 2 other stormers on there. Also, breaks versions of Nothing But You and For an Angel are fucking awesome.
Coxy was storming, a bit more epic than what he played at FMF (he played Coldplay at one point) but it was great. But man PvD rocked it, just brilliant. So much choonage it wasn't funny. MORPH was pretty good too, at any other time except 8am it would have been a great set in itself i think.

I love Berlin.
With that ice cream shop, I searched Postdamer Platz and the PP Arkaden and couldn't find one you were talking about, but I found Haagen Dasz which is a chain which was fuckin good, so not a complete loss.
I can't be bothered writing a proper review of Love From Above so I'll copy-paste and add bits to what i wrote in GTA.
Coxy was great, and Paul was brilliant too. Loved the second set where he just belted it out, but the first hour before the live PA was also really good. For the number 1 dj, he makes one mighty fine warm up dj
He did a live PA of tracks from the new album:
White lies - bugger off, thats pretty terrible
Far Away - the epic kind of instrumental sounds pretty good
Get Back - sounds alright, nice stompin kind of sound
New york City - can't wait for the dub, the instrumental would be crazy by itself I think
Talk in Grey, I think that one would be great as a dub, sounds like it has a nice epic kind of melody to it
There were heaps of vocal tracks, and at least those two would have been really really good just by themselves without the vocals
He also did breaks versions of Nothing But You and For an Angel - they're massive I reckon, loved those ones.
I can't really remember the rest, those were the ones that stood out though.
oh, some of the choonage that Paul dropped in the second set was insane
Mindcircus
Born Slippy
Junk Project
fuck, forgotten half of the others, but it was madness in some parts. I just wish he let SummerDream play out longer just before Coxy (He mixed out just before the big break), I love hearing that tune being played out.
Seriously, his second set was mega choonage, some absolutely massive tracks all through the set.
But yeah, loved LFA. Not too packed either, everyone had pretty much their own little space. I've always had reservations about big halls like that too as it seems the atmosphere gets lost in the big roof sometimes, I think last night was great. Vodafone (admittedly much bigger than Arena last night) that gets used for these types of parties and I don't like it that much as i think it loses some of the atmosphere, but yeah it was good at Arena.
It was kinda weird catching the S back to Alex after too, cos it was about 8:30am and there were families with kids going into town for the day and I'm sitting there feeling and probably looking really sketchy.
