well with the Eye-fi cards, and them integrating with devices such as the microsoft surface combined with RFID-like technology, this should be possible in the next 10 years...(if not sooner...also depending on production costs)

Check this guy's plan on Rogers

reminds me of a gym membership or airfare .. no one ever pays the same thing
wow...so his base plan is essentially free and all he's paying for it data.
Inspired by the plan I posted above, gave rention a call and explained how everyone got mixed up with that new iPhone/BB/WM plan that's was suppose to be $30 w/ $10 credit. Told them I really like Rogers & was a bit unhappy about what happened, they honored the credit for a long periode of time.
Didn't get the ultra cool plan like the one above, but what do you expect from a loss of 136 million.
iPhone OS 3.0 is coming, March 17th

We just got the announcement, iPhone OS 3.0 is coming. Set your clocks, mark your calendars. It's going down March 17th. Apparently, we'll get a sneak peak at the new OS, as well as a look at a brand new version of the SDK. Exciting stuff indeed, and we'll be there live at 10am PST (1pm PST) with the liveblog. Apple's calling this an "advance preview of what we're building," so we're not expecting anything ready to go as of the 17th, but hopefully this will allow developers to start building toward future functionality (hey, how about some push notifications?), and presumably users won't have too many months to wait after that for the real deal.
AJ's 3 year term is over and now looking for a new phone.
I'm looking at an I9 (http://i9-phone-review.blogspot.com/)
It's cheap, and does what I need, and prolly will be ok with it for that price. I don't mind knock-offs.
I'm open to other suggestions... what cool and cheap?
Alternatively, what's a cheap phone with WiFi so I can get internet without paying for 3G?

The CECT I9 /SCIPHONE i68 sells for sub $150 now, so it looks ripe for the picking. iPhone isn't on my corporate offering.
They're dirt cheap now

Palm Pre Webcast Tidbit: Browser Nearly 4x Faster than iPhone (Updated with video)

As it stands, the best shot you have at a "full" web browsing experiencing is with Apple's iPhone. Granted, Opera Mini ain't half bad, and Fennec (er, Mobile Firefox, holds a lot of promise, but it's hard to argue with the sheer performance numbers associated with Safari. That said, it looks like Cupertino has its work cut out for it upon the release of Palm's Pre. During a recent webcast, viewers were treated to a sneak peek at the Pre loading up Big12Sports.com. Said site is pretty intensive to load, and even on WiFi it takes well over 20 seconds to completely pull up on Apple's darling. The site took around eight seconds to finalize on the Pre, suggesting that it either has a wicked fast browser or caching abilities, both of which we could learn to appreciate. Hit the read link for a peek at the video, because -- you know -- seeing is believing.

New iPod shuffle requires headphones with an authentication chip

The folks over at iLounge stumbled upon some curious info regarding the new iPod Shuffle that has us scratching our heads. We all know the controls for the new Shuffle are on the headphones, but apparently Cupertino decided to make it even more difficult for headphone makers to get in on some Shuffle action. Control of playback and adjustment of volume will not be permitted unless the headphones used are equipped with an Apple authentication chip. Doh! To further complicate matters, headphones with this new authentication chip are not yet available. Phooey, you say, I will pair my high-end headphones with a third party remote control device instead. Denied! Third party remotes with this authentication chip are not yet available either. Until these new accessories hit the market, shuffle owners are stuck using the stock headphones for the time being. What is Apples reasoning behind the move? Were not sure, though we imagine it has to do with ensuring Apple can prevent companies from producing Shuffle gear without its blessing. Good job Apple, now itll cost less-than-scrupulous manufacturers overseas an extra 7 per unit to make compatible headphones. Major fail.
