Jon's being trance police today, dekay is much closer to prog house than he is to trance.
He's an interesting blend of house, and prog with melodies placed over top of them...

...just thought some house fans might enjoy it, but i suppose the trance police have spoken.

haha aka trance....

Ok first of all, I like Matthew Dekay. Secondly, I'm glad it was shared in here. (but this is the househeads thread, not the "let's enlighten the househeads with neo-trance thread")

I have some productions from Dekay, and I would say he is progressive... which falls under both trance, and house.

Think you are getting a bit nit-picky here man - it's not like he posted a Tiesto set ffs.

oh my god cry about it, I really enjoyed the sets, but it's not house. I don't care how many productions of his you own, lol have you heard the sets?

Imagine having this conversation w/ someone like DJ Sneak trying to convince him that Matthew Dekay is house, please.

edit: Just a personal gripe of mine that some people group everything that isn't Armin 135bpm trance into HOUSE when it's just simply not the case.

With fusion of many of the genres, it's hard to say for definite what is prog trance or prog house.

Hell, DJs make it confusing by mixing up both in sets

I completely agree, pretty much none of Dekay's productions are house.

I dont have a problem with the "gripe". There are WAY too many of those ppl.
I can easily say i am not one of them.
Dekay has never been house imo.
I def lean much more to the progressive side of music than house tho
ie. Nick Warren, Sasha, Hernan, & Digweed along with Dekay being some of my fave DJ....

To me its just interesting as hell to discuss points of view
re: house and progressive, cause they're SO similar, yet very different.

Ok, this is all I have been listening to lately. Favourite tracks in the set

Part 1:

40:30
59:00
66:30 (crazy mash-up here)

Part 2:

00:00 (one of the only tracks that The Zone reacted to when they brought Desyn in July)
27:00
42:00
46:45 (best song in the set)

Any IDs for any of these tracks?
